Just remember to walk and then walk again. It helps with the gas!

Anxiety ahead of surgery...
- Vomiting
Still call your doctor - because he should always be aware of issues. He also maybe able to prescribe you something to help keep food down. I did go through something similar, when you introduce new foods you are learning what works for you and what does not. Everyone is different in that aspect. If chicken is dry I have a hard time with it. Sometimes the grease of a burger will make it hard for me to get it down. It is trial and error at each new food stage. Again always call your doctor - that is what you pay him for and trust me you are not bothering them or being a pain. You just need some peace of mind that everything is ok. If it is not ok you need the resources to make it ok.- Weight loss stall
Buy double pasteurized egg white and add those to your drinks. It gives you added protein without any taste.- Pcos, periods
I had pcos, but got a hysterectomy in 09. Can't comment on the periods aspect of it, but hormonally you are all out of whack after RNY. It is due to the fat cells that are being released. In them are hormones and when they leave they give us a parting gift. Things will even out in a few months. I was an emotional basket case for several months.- Muscle Milk
I was told it has too much junk in it to be a good source of your daily protein. However if you are on the go and need protein it is ok every once Ina while.- A Little Too Skinny
Will do. I will start tomorrow and let you know next week!- A Little Too Skinny
Alright all that makes sense, and although I hate to admit when a man is right - just ask my hubby - you are right. I know you use MFP. My problems are really determining your logical values to shoot for. What should your calorie amount be to just maintain. As a vet we are typically in the maintaining phase of the process. I can log god foods and I am frustrated when I see most of my calories are gone for the day. For example I ate scrambled eggs recently and logged those in. The came to 400 calories. I feel like I could get to where you are if I had a good starting point on top calorie amount for a typical day.- Boney...
For me it is my collar bone and pelvis that freaks me out a little.- Anyone eat bread or tortillas?
I have found that bread can be tough to get down unless it is toasted.- Surgery in 4 days and I am in a funk
This is a long journey, and honestly you are at the hard stage. I had all those thoughts, and after a year I think I realized what it was. Our brains are amazing organs, but I believe them to be much like a two year old caught in the terrible twos. When they don't get their way they throw temper tantrums. Right now you are denying your brain those food pay offs that we have all done over the years of being overweight. Now you are saying no and just like a two year old at the grocery store your brain is throwing a fit. BUT I WANT IT....... Now there is good and bad news with this. Good news: You are learning now how to deal with your two year old. You are learning you are stronger than your brain You are taking the steps to be healthy and living your life. You will succeed like everyone does who follows the plan You will gain the confidence and reassurance that you made the right choice You are not alone! Bad news: Your brain will continue to throw major fits for several months, and small fits from time to time You will have moments that you regret the decision You will have stalls in your weight loss - it does not mean you have failed it means you are normal. Again your brain throws fits during this process and one of them is stalls and then the evil voice comes back. Bottom line YOU GOT THIS GIRL!!!! And we are all behind you and supporting you!!!- New and bewildered
I had N/V at about 3 weeks, and it lasted about 3-4 weeks. Please make sure you talk to doc sooner than wed. Call his office and stay on top of it. I suffered through it for a few weeks, and finally my doc got me on meds. Zofran never worked for me. He gave me phenergen, reglan and the patch. All three working together finally got it to stop. I also during this time regretted my decision. I said to myself almost everyday - what in the hell did I do to myself. I cried at everything and generally felt miserable. It does get better I promise. Just hang in there!- Pre op shopping list
Honestly your taste buds will change so much after surgery I would not buy too much of anything. My first week I was told water is the most important thing to get down.- Depressed/regretting?
You are 100% normal and it will pass. It is different for everyone. Mine hit me around 3 weeks and was there for about 3 weeks. I ended up crying at my month post op group meeting. Oh I hated to hear give it time it will pass, but those words are very true. I am 13 months post op down 117lbs and love life. It is worth it!!!! Hang in there!!!- Trying wine for the first time
There is sparkling versions of it, but it is also regular wine.- Trying wine for the first time
Oh and happy anniversary!- Trying wine for the first time
I enjoy wine from time to time. I like mascoto myself. I have dumped on it of there is nothing else in my tummy. Also be careful as it will go straight to your head your first time. Let hubby know you will be tipsy quickly. Do not drive after drinking it.- Food
I would talk with your doc and get some meds to help you. I was just like you and thought it was normal. It's not and there are meds that can help you out. I ended up taking phenergen, zofran, and had the scapolimene patch.- Always hungry lately :-/
Mu doc said something in one of my post op group meetings that has stuck with me. He said that over time we gravitate towards food we know will go down easy. So we have the illusion of eating more. After three of four bites of pork I am usually done - my pouch does not like pork or dry chicken, but fish on the other hand I do just fine with. So I am able to eat more of the fish than of the pork. Our brains being the wonderful creatures they are will typically steer us in the direction of eating what goes down easy. As for the hungry feeling I try to eat every couple of hours. I fight head hunger all the time and it is a nasty little devil sometimes.- Advice needed
I would talk to your doctor and see what he recommends. Every doc is different and you want to make sure you follow their rules. With that being said you do have options. My vitamins are powder form and go into my protein shake. The name is new life bariatric supplements. My doc also suggested prenatal vitamins.- A Little Too Skinny
You know you are like a talk radio host. Giving us little teases so we will stay tuned. Yes everything you said about logging food is just how I feel.- A Little Too Skinny
I have has issues with MFP myself. It got to a point that it was more trouble than I was getting out of it. I know right now I really need to log my foods so that I can hopefully discover if foods are triggering my diarrhea. Any pointer would be great.- left out :(
My husband said I was starting to stare at him like our dog Molly does when he wants what is on his plate. It is only temporary and it does get better.- Feeling Nauseous?
You may not be getting enough fluids. It is a sign of heat exhaustion. Sounds like that might be happening. How much fluids are you getting? - Vomiting
