dhalpine got a reaction from Smilejoelle1 in Pcos
It depends on the cause of the PCOS, if the root cause was being overweight then it will resolve. I have a friend that is very very thin and has PCOS and hers was caused from Endometriosis. I hope yours resolves because Im telling you I felt so bad for her when she had her flair ups....brought her to her knees.

Just for everyone who seems to have a huge issue with the mashed potatoes they are instant and thinned and I eat like 3 bites I've had no problems with dumping (I too am terrified of that) but it is on my approved foods list... Definitely not as much sugar as Greek yogurt and some of the other things people are posting about... Everyone responds differently to different foods so why the need to criticize one another? I for one joined this for support... Guess ill be looking else where... How disappointing

I think Im going to dry mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes....my doc said mashed potatoes are ok in small amounts. Everyone is different....what someone may dump with, someone else wont.

dinner was great tonight I fixed my family some spaghetti and now that I can eat pureed food I put some of the spaghetti sauce cooked mushrooms, onions, and ground beef in my processor and blended it up really well then added some fat free mozzarella cheese and fat free cottage cheese it was amazing... I know it sounds like alot however I do have leftovers because I was only able to eat about an 8th of a cup and am full now getting used to waiting 30 mins after eating is a trick lol

Also not to scare you but I had a friend that had a sleeve, he drank a diet sprite as soon as he got home, it expanded his stomach, tore his suture lines, and caused a massive leak. He almost died and was in ICU for a month on IV antibiotics. So it is vitally important to measure and follow post op rules, it could be a life or death situation.

that is way too much food. his pouch was resized to hold only 2 ounces. that is why it is very important for us to measure our food. he definitely can stretch his pouch. also. up until 4-6 weeks the nerve endings in his stomach is not working yet that is why he doesn't feel full and again important to measure his foods.

There is absolutely no way I could get that in one meal. It's taking me 4 hours to finish an 8 oz shake right now.

Glad to hear that our more recent December dates are doing so well....So glad you are on the losers bench, but don't forget to get up and walk! I'm returning to work tomorrow and after the tragedy in CT can't wait to see MY kids (students) and tell them how much I missed them all. Bittersweet homecoming, but looking so forward to it! Stay healthy and keep healing everyone!

The incentive spirometer works!!! Thats how I coughed all of that junk out of my lungs. My pulse ox was 93% the day of surgery and went up to 100% the next day just by using it!!

For the Calcium citrate I am using some samples I have from Bariatric Advantage, they are lozenges/chewables. Some companies have the chocolate chews for Calcium as well. Try to get calcium citrate with Vitamin D. For the rest of my Vitamins I am using Celebrate. My B12 is sublingual liquid.
