Well that can happen in general if you don't take your Vitamins...but it happens quicker to WLS patients. Thanks for bringing it up...not too many people bring it up! :-)

Good luck with the surgery ladies...im going in Monday if all goes well. I start my 2 day clear liquids at midnight. I cheated and bought a few things in smaller sizes already! lol

I had a sleeve done last year too and I am having it converted to a bypass because of a stricture as well...From what my surgeon says, the after surgery diets are similar. just gotta really watch the sugar and fat contents. Ask your surgeon though because they all have different time frames for diet progression. Best of luck on your surgery!

Thanks everyone for all your well wishes and prayers! I am feeling a lot better and I am on top of my iron pills...I had blood work done today and I hope things are going in the right direction! My surgery was rescheduled for Monday which is my son's 6th birthday so I am sad to miss it but if I don't accept that date I will have to wait until next month! I guess I can look at it as if the surgery works the way we all expect it to work and helps me change my life it would be like I was born again and I share a birthday with my baby! I will be baking him a cake and celebrating with him on Friday...one last slice of cake before my 2 day clear liquid diet! lol

Mami, this might be strange but have you tried baby food?? When I had my 1st surgery I would find the ones with the most protein and add unflavored protein to it...some of those baby foods are yummy and they are the perfect size!

Yes they do sell unsalted seeds. I have also seen lightly salted with sea salt. The salt in the seeds could be causing some of the Water retention if that's what it is. I'm not a doctor so you should tell your surgeon about your pepita habit. Lol

Sounds like water retention... Try to stay off your feet for a while if u can... Are the sunflower seeds salted?? That could make you retain water.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well... Have them do a fluoro x-ray (the one with the nasty drink.) maybe there's a blockage? I hope this passé soon!!

Bryer's has a no carb vanilla....haven't tasted it tho.

My day was yesterday...I was to go in at 6 am for a 8 am surgery...around 4:30 or so, i started feeling really dizzy, nauseous and extremely faint. I thought that it was just a mixture of my nerves, hunger and anemia (which I have had for a while and my current menstrual status wasn't helping.) So I just had my babe help me get ready and waited for my cab. By the time I got to the hospital I was so bad I needed to be taken up in a wheelchair! My surgeon requested some blood work and I was so anemic that I needed a blood transfusion!!! I spent the night at the hospital getting blood and fluids. My surgery was postponed until next week! The waiting never ends huh?

I am glad that they found out what the problem was. I hope that you are eating normally again soon.

Thank you all! Surgery was postponed until next week. When I got to the hospital i was pale, shaking and faint....the blood work showed I was too anemic to have surgery and needed a blood transfusion instead. So in a few days I'll be having those butterflies all over again!

Also, there these protein bullets at walmart and the vitamin shoppe that have 42g of whey protein in like 2.5 ounces. it taste pretty bad but if you can get one or two of those down it could probably make you feel a lil better seeing that you are not eating. feel better! Please keep us posted.

lol! I did the chew n' spit! My babe was eating an awesome cheeseburger and I was tired of NOT CHEWING!!! lol To all the pre-ops who have cheated on their liquid diets...its OK just as long as you don't eat the night before. Good luck to everyone!
