  3. My pre-op class was close to 4 hours long......
  4. Everyone that I know that has Lap Band has had problems, everyone I know who has had RNY have had no problems. I knew I wanted RNY because you lose the most weight with this choice.

  7. Sounds like gas but I am no doctor.... please call your doctor ASAP !!!
  8. Good luck and wishes for a speedy, non-eventful recovery
  9. Good luck on your surgery
  10. I get very gassy when I have my protein - OMG !!!! DEADLY !!!
  11. No regrets what so ever, I just wish I knew insurance covered it because I would have done it long ago.
  12. I had wine about 3 months post op and nothing, I am 14 months post op and have a glass of wine with dinner and nothing. If you do try wine I would try it at home just to be on the safe side.
  13. NO regrets what so ever !!!! If I knew insurance paid I would have done it a long time ago. Best thing I ever done !!!!
  14. I did not have any hair loss --- I was very determined to get all my protein in and very religious about taking my Biotin. I am 14 months post op and still take my biotin. I have thin hair to begin with and do not want to lose not one hair. Do you take biotin?
  15. Everyone is different, I was sore for a while, since you are only 4 wks post op I could still see you being in pain. Just mention it to your surgeon, but I think its all normal.
  16. I use to get them on line too until the IRS caught up with me and had to pay all the taxes- be careful ! I was a pack a day smoke, OMG if you only smoked 1-3 thats really nothing... If you have one every now and then or socially why not but as a daily thing I would not get back into it. I wish I could be strong and have one at a party but once I start thats it !!!! I'm back up to a pack a day in no time - I don't trust myself
  17. Don't feel bad TinyMammi - I quit smoking the night before surgery, and my surgery was 4/9/12, I feel so much better not smoking but I miss it every day. Some friends and family still smoke and when they are around I really want to have one !!! I keep telling myself that I cannot go back because I want to be healthy !! When I had my endoscopy they found pre-cancer cells in my stomach which was from smoking and the only way to reverse those cells is to quit !!! I keep focusing on that. Plus smokes are so darn expensive now I don't miss going to the store every day spending $9.50 for a pack of smokes. Please do not go back when you have the desire to have one go for a walk or do something to get your mind off it. Stay strong !!!
  18. After surgery you need to get lots of protein in, my surgeon wanted a min. of 64 grams of protein daily, you will have to eat lots of yogurt and right after surgery you don't feel much like eating. Keep on looking.... there is a shake out there for you... or get the unflavored and add to your food. Some surgeons require you get like 80-90 grams of protein in daily.
  19. I would wait until you lose all your weight so you know exactly what size to get. You don't want to get them now then you lose lots more weight and they have to have a adjustment.
  20. Ahhh..... I hear ya, you will find out real quick what you can eat and what you cant. Feel better soon.
  21. I love sushi but the rice I have a problem with, it does not go down right.
  22. Just be careful with juices because they can be loaded with calories/sugar.
