  1. I did it for 5 days. I followed the 5 day pouch test just as it is stated. I did eat some watermelon and canalope. I only eat whole wheat pasta. I do not eat any white carbs. I eat pinto beans, green beans, salads, so you see I do eat other things. It does just what it states, jump starts you back to eating what you should be eating. And if you stay on program (what you should eat for the lab-band) you will not gain it back. I have lost 55 lbs. I can't reset my ticker.
  2. Yes, I did the 5 day pouch test and lost 9 lbs. It was easy to follow, and got me back on track. Hope it works for you.
  3. Hi Everyone, I also have TriCare Prime. I have been "fighting" with them for almost a year. I am in the process of writing an appeal letter. I saw a form in a weight loss magazine(don't know which one) that a Dr. had a form that your own personal Dr. could complete to help you get approved. Anyone know where I could get my hands on that letter I sure would appriciate it.
  4. Thank you for the info. I will ask my Dr. tomorrow.
  5. I have a 10 cc band, I have 8 1/2 cc I go for another fill tomorrow that if I get 1/2 cc will bring me to 9 cc. I hope that will give me my sweet spot. Everyone says that your band will get loose as you lose weight. What happens if you get to the 10 cc. Does the band just quit working?? Any thoughts on this?
  6. I'm 60 (61 in April) I was banded on 8/20/07 I have lost 42 lbs. My Dr. tells me I'm right on schedule. I'm still getting fills and have not reached my "sweet spot". The wonderful news is my blood pressure and blood sugars are all normal now. So I just added some years to my life. Ya Ya
  7. Count me in for a cookbook. I will e-mail you some of the recipes that I get from my support group.
  8. I Love my bullet also.
  9. I have a 10cc band. I was in today for my 5th fill. My first fill was 4 cc's 2nd was 2 cc's 3rd was 1 cc 4th was .5 and today was .5 for a total of 8 cc's. I did notice today when I was drinking my water I could feel it going down and it seemed a little slower. Time will tell if I'm at my "sweet spot". Anyone know why they tell you to wait 2 wks to tell if you have restriction? My Dr. tell me I'm right on schedule. I have lost 43 lbs.I was banded on 8/20/07. I still have about 50 to go. I have faith that the rest of my weight will come of.
  10. I will stay on plan today because I have a plan for my future.

  13. I have been reading about fills. I had my first fill last Tuesday 4 cc in a 10 cc band. I now feel like I have a fist in my chest. I have been following all the rules. I can still eat what I'm supposed to. Sometimes I get hungry. I would like to know if anyone else has had this feeling? I have not lost any weight since my fill. Thanks in advance.
  14. I have a 10cc band. I had my first fill of 4cc on Tue. 10/2/07 I feel like I have a knot in the middle of my chest. I eat everything I'm suppose to. I don't do junk food. I still get hungry, but I just drink a lot of water inbetween meals. Do you think I'm over restricted, even tho I still get hungry?
  15. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and I am having a really bad time with constipation. My PCP told me to take mineral oil. Has anyone else taken this? Any advise would be helpful.:help:
  16. Hi to all, I am 60 yrs old and was banded on Aug. 20th 2007 Yes this year. for the firs time ever... my blood sugars are within normal range. That means in the first two weeks of a pre surgery diet and 4 days out from surgery I have my blood suger under control without meds. How cool is that. Now I'm working on my blood pressure meds. I have 2 grown childre ages 42 and 37 one grandchild that will be 8 yrs old in Dec. I did this banding because I want to enjoy life and keep up with my grandchild and of course live a longer and happier life. So don't think you are to old to make yourself healthier.
