I'm almost 6 weeks post op and I am having a really bad time with constipation. My PCP told me to take mineral oil. Has anyone else taken this? Any advise would be helpful.:help:

Hi I was banded on Sep 14th and I had the same problem and my doctor told me to drink Prune Juice and that helped me a lot, it doesn't taste that good but it heped.

I WAS REALLY BADLY CONSTIPATED ABOUT TWO WEEKS POST OP. WAS TOLD TO TAKE PRUNE JUICE BUT NO JOY, THEN M OF MAGNESIA STILL NO JOY! WAS GETTING DESPERATE SO BOUGHT SOME SUPPOSITORIES. WHAT A RELIEF:whoo: ONLY NEEDED TO DO THAT ONCE THANK GOD! ONCE I STARTED ON MUSHIES WAS OK,

Folks, I think I can tell you that if you are constipated, you may not be drinking enough Water. You MUST do that 64+ ounces per day and the more the merrier. Constipation is caused by dehydration inside the bowel.

Did anyone take the magnesium citrate the day before your surgery? If you did, what that stuff does is suck moisture from everywhere into your bowels...and man O man, the results are rapid evacuation of the bowels and that in liquid form.

Sip sip sip. :whoo:
