    Weight Gain Anxiety

I have the same fear. Mine seems to be centered around a number. I was 220 before pregnancy, 220 after diet and exercise, regained with lapband complications... It seems 220 is where my body is demanding I be. Having regained after 1 wls, I fear that I will "repeat the cycle" with a revision to gbp. But I think also that anyone who has yo-yo weight loss through the years is just waiting for the shoe to drop. So yes, I have the very same fears.

Peanut Butter And Sugar Free Syrup!

    I swear by myfitnesspal
  6. I love the idea of a zombie run! Wish we had that around here. Thinking about this has made me realize how much I have accomplished despite my problems and set backs. But I still I still want to zipline and not look silly.

    Food Diary App?

As long as you don't change the serving size. That messes with calorie count. Look for something that can easily change to ounces. For example 0.5 cup equals 4 ounces. If you only had 2 ounces, then you can say you had 1/2 serving and it will figure it. I use it on my phone and this works pretty well. Hope that helps!

    Book Club

I actually just started the 50 shades trilogy. Was gonna save for my surgery time off but decided not too. Just finished the Hunger Games and was disappointed on the ending. Also still reading Janet evonovich(sp) number 16. It's the Stephanie plum series. Saw the movie but the books, as always, are waaayyyy better!

    Food Diary App?

I like my fitness pal. It tracks all of those. And if you log in on a computer, the settings can be changed to your recommendations instead of weight/height ratio. HUGE data base and a scanner included. And u can add it as your food if not found.

    Hi.

I know the bullet was 49.95$. I think the generic was 29.95$. It's been awhile since I bought it. I think it's better than the blender bottles.

    Going Home Today!

My fitness pal is a great app. It tracks water, most meds (can add them if not in the database already), exercise and breaks it into catergories such as protein, carbs, iron, sugars, and calcium to name a few.

    Hi.

I'm not post-op yet but I have a digital scale and really love my generic magic bullet from Walmart. Best thing I could have!

    Hi

I agree completely. I have both because generally you can mix and customize. Plus the powder usually has more protein. But I have the to-go shakes for when life gets busy

    A Moment Of Weakness

I just know its not high on the list for diabetics. Again, natural sugar but after not having any maybe... My dietician isn't recommending fruit in my proteins shakes after surgery for awhile. She didn't say how long. Just a thought 

    A Moment Of Weakness

Watermelon has alot of sugar in it. I know it's natural sugar but that may be why you felt bad.

    Hi First Time Here.

I too have the band and will revise to rny. I didn't want the sleeve because of the possible reflux associated with it. I have terrible reflux with the band and they shouldn't be any with rny. Also, the sleeve is "newer" and I couldn't put my self through another " new" surgery. I'm going with what is tried and true. But there are several of us on here that ate banded and I'm sure they will chime in too. Welcome!

    Yum Yum Yummy!

I tried a brand called Primal. I found it at food fantasy which is an organic place. It is vegan, between 70-90 calories and 10-20 grams protein. Very moist. There were 5 flavors I think. My favorite was Thai peanut. I am pre-op so I don't know about tolerance but it was very moist. There is a website.

    Introducing Myself

    Curious, but where Is MMC?
  20. In response to the weekly challange, here is a new recipe we tried this weeked. 1/2 cup sliced scallions 1 TB grated ginger 2 TB cilantro 2 TSP hot pepper sauce juice of 1 lime 1 1/2 TSP jerk seasoning 1/2 cinnamon 1 TB extra-virgin olive oil 3 jalapeno peppers seeded and chopped 1 TSP black peper 1/2 TSP Kosher salt 1/2 TSP red pepper flakes 2 cloves garlic 2 TB brown sugar substitute 1 TB apple cider vinegar 1 TB orange juice 2 TSP worcestershire sauce 4 4-ounce chicken breast 4 4-ounce chicken thighs (no bones, no skin) Combine all the ingrediants (except the chicken) in a food processor and blend until almost smooth. Coat the chicken and place into slow cooker to marinate overnight for 12 hours. Cook on low for 5 or 6 hours. For more heat, leave in the seeds but i thought it was "warm" without them. Calories 146.52; Protein 19.67; Carbs 1.78; Total fats 6.14; Sat fats 1.37; Cholesterol 62.46; Sodium 322.21; Sugars 0.52; Fiber 0.3 Be sure not to overcook (I did) The chicken was a little dry but still very tasty! I used some fresh herbs and some dried. My family and I have been trying about 1 new recipe a week and so far I haven't made 1 they didn't like! BTW, this is a regular texture food.
  21. I think that is awesome progress!

    Pneumonia

Speaking from the profession, walking and moving helps to move the secretions around. The more you sit, the higher the chance is of getting it. Be sure to breathe with that contraption too. That helps as well to get it moving around.
  23. Interesting, but i can definately understand the link. There will always be the fear of regaining the weight and being out of options. I agree with losinit, you have to change the original behavior and find a balance between the 2 in which to live your life. Also it sounds as if she underwent some very stressfull situations within her life which i'm sure contributed to the problem.
  24. I LOVE that book. I also have one of the "dummies" books but there are no pictures. I like to see what i'm eating/cooking before i make it. I have also found some of the weight watchers books to be helpful. At least they have the counts included for portion size and calories. There are some websites but i havent delved into them yet too much. (I'm waiting for revisional rny now) www.livingafterwls.com www.bariatric eating.com There are probably others too. Maybe someone else can make suggestions??
