Thank you..I just had a woman call me on base and offer to clean My house 2 times a week for free for the next month and she will do the clean out of the old house and a pre clean of the new house before a move in..thank God for military wives..my husband is so busy as grid getting ready to leave again. My son plays sports n works. I'm sure my OCD doesn't help as I have to have a very very clean house. Lol

You should be able to take Tylenol..just no advil or Motrin. Maybe your Dr it different. I had to stop coffee months before surgery cuz I knew I was going to have bad with drawls. I hope you feel better. Good luck with surgery.

oh, I dont think we will ever stop coming to this forum, I know I wont.. I find so many interesting things on here and get lots of my questions answered, I just thought it would be nice to continue the unity we all share, alot of the sept members have found they live in the same state if not the same town, I know one women on here lives 1 hr away from me and has the same dr... i think that is so awesome, but I in know way think we will be taking away from this site. I just wanted a easier way to stay in touch with everyone.. hope you are well and have a blessed week.

so, i finally called my dr today, the 1st thing out of his mouth is :hello pinky" (my hair is Hot pink)lol, well it was about the leftside pain as it last about 2 hrs, he put me back on clear liquids... I wanted to start crying right there on the phone, he said if the pain doesnt resolve after Clear Liquids and and enema I have to go back to the hospital. WTF, he asked what i had been doing around the house and I told him, emptying the garbage, loading the dishwasher and washing clothes, he said NO. NO, NO... that is why your in so much pain you are not to be doing anything for at least 2 weeks.. well hell then, tell my husband and 17 yr son that mom needs a maid.. sucks that we are moving into our new house on BASE on Thursday thank go for TMO they are going to pack everything in our house.. I really dont want to go back to the hospital. I am better working at one than being a pt ...lol. well my prayers and well wishes to everyone this week that is having surgery and everyone that is healing I hope and pray for a healing and speedy recovery.. have a blessed week...

Good news...I'm 13 days post op and I.GET.REAL.FOOD.TOMORROW!!! It's still a limited menu, but I can have eggs, white fish, ground turkey/chicken, lunch meat, cheese, mashed/soft fruit and cooked veggies!!! I'm so excited!
Bad news...one of my incisions is infected. Thankfully, it opened on its own to drain so my doctor doesn't have to do it, but the scar will not be as pretty. I also have to take antibiotics for five days as a precaution. Just another reminder that this is NOT the easy way out!
Oh, more good news. Highest weight at start of journey was 225 and today I am 193! Down 17 pounds since coming home from hospital. I'm in Onederland for the first time since about 2005!

Just easier to post to and view pic of each others progress,etc..it was just a thought I wanted to throw out there and see what the feed back would be.

Is anybody else out there STARVING!!!, i had to stop with the Atkins Protein drinks as they were milk based and i think i am lactose intolerant/ I also switched from Gummy vit to liquid to see if that helps and i bought some gas x, the new Protein I am trying to GNC Lean. I am still having pain on the left side and the only thing that takes the pain away is to lay in child pray pose.
Also I had made a comment about starting a Facebook page it would be CLOSED GROUP, so that we would be the only one in the group, that way we could all keep in touch and post pic, express how we feel and how we are doing.. how many people on here would be interested? and would you want to kept just for "sept members only"?i know alot of us have jobs that search FB so i dont want to assume everyone would want to join this..

i was told the second you start eating carbs like chips it can send you into a binge, so maybe "kale chips" right now i am starving and i am on liquids.. I want real food so bad i ate a pc of cooked brocc and chewed it and spit it out. i just had to taste something, besides Protein drinks....good luck

Today has been rough and it's all my fault. I've had such an easy time that I got carried away and forgot I had just had surgery on Monday. Well boy oh boy am I paying for it today. My pain level has been through the rough. Taken pain medication every 4 hours when I was only having to take it 2 maybe 3 times a day. Lets just say my body let me know I was getting a little to cocky. So spent all of today in bed and will more than likley repeat it tomorrow. :"( Ya live and ya learn.

Tell me about it. I found putting a pillow under the side that is raised helps a lot

I haven't posted a lot but I have been keeping up with everyone's progress. Isla I hope everything goes well for you at your appointment and that you are able to have surgery.
I had my two week postop appointment today and was cleared for soft foods and to go back to work. I still need to work on Protein intake. Hopefully it will be easier with soft foods. I am down 12 pounds which is good but I had hoped for more. Just wanted to check in and let you guys know that you all are in my thoughts!

I'd just run it past the dr. I call their office everytime I have a question and they don't seem to mind better safe than sorry. Hope u feel better soon. The thin strips resolve on ur tongue like listerine strips so nothing goes into ur stomach just absorbed in your mouth. So it may not cause u pain to do them?

I asked and they said I have to wait till my appointment with my surgeon. I'm not sure why I think it's because there was no apt sooner than the 5 and he wants to clear me first. He skips puréed phase so ill be able to get into the soft adapted but for real it's hard. I'm ready to eat my arm lol 2 more weeks and then I can eat something real I can't wait!

I am going to get my IVC filter inserted tomorrow. I have to be at the hospital at 930 am.
Had a very bad reaction to a new pain med my doc tried yesterday but feel great today. I went to my hospital pre op class, it was fine. My trial packs of oh yeah and nectar arrived I haven't tried them yet might wait til post op.
I got my infectious disease clearance letter faxed it to the docs office. So I am a go!
