  1. Your pictures are awesome!! You are awesome!! Thanks for your story!!
  2. I feel the same as you so I have one thing to raise your hopes perhaps...pilsbury makes sugar free cake and icing (sweetened with Splenda). Definitely something you wouldn't want to eat every day as it's empty calories but a way that you can still have cake on your special day!! Hope this cheers you up a bit. I have been doing a lot of food mourning lately so I totally get it!!
  3. My doctor said vomiting is NEVER normal. You should call them right away.
  4. My health care nurse told me to take a tablespoon a day of milk of magnesia. Works fairly well!! I am scared to take or use any fiber supplement due to bloating. Couldn't that potentially stretch my pouch or cause alot of gas pain? I have enough of that as it is! Lol!
  5. Welcome! So happy for your weight loss!! I'm 4 weeks out...I hope am I as successful as you are!
  6. Thanks for the advice!
  7. It is absolutely amazing isn't it? I felt so good after I told everyone. I got tons of support and well wishes. I expected people to be rude I guess. But the've all been great! And it made me feel super empowered and like I was owning my journey. You know what I mean?
  8. Phenominal woman is right!!! Amazing!! I am 4 weeks post op. It's very hard for me to believe that my body could look like yours...in 9 months? Congratulations! All of your hard work and tenacity paid off!
  9. I go to Curves. It's fun. Great cardio and strength training workout in 30 minutes. And everyone there is very supportive and friendly. You should give it a try. It's less than $40 a month.
  10. That is awesome!! How old r u? You look so young!
  11. Welcome and best of luck to you!
  12. Good luck. Walk ASAP and as much as you can!! I did a ton of laps in the hospital. And every night since the night after I got home I have walked in the park for 30-45 minutes. I have to go sometimes at random times to walk. It's the only thing that helps with gas or stomach pains.
  13. Good shake recipes on theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com
  14. Welcome!!! Good luck with your surgery!! I am 4 weeks post op. Best decision I could have made. Where r u from? What's ur story?
  15. Mine said between 600 and 800 calories a day.
  16. Right now...I was told not to focus on calories but to get in fluids and protein. I finally got my dietician to tell me between 600-800 calories a day. I am four weeks post op.
  17. Lacy...any questions you have...feel free to ask. We are all here for you!
  18. And it's really not a question ....after surgery you just know that you can't eat that. I don't even want it! So you slipped a little now...I just wanted to point out that you will not want the same amounts or even the same foods!!
  19. So sorry. I was so scared of getting sick before surgery. Take lots of vitamin D. Best of luck!
  20. I have had some pretty severe gas pains as well. The thing that works best for me is to go for a 30-45 minute walk in the park.
  21. Everytime I update my weight on my ticker, it never updates the weight when my ticker is posted and it just adds another ticker to my signature. I go in and delete the ticker and start over...the current weight will then be posted correctly but it just adds another to my signature. So right now mine is posting 3 tickers with my signature!!! Any suggestions? Particularly from Alex?
  22. Went through the same thing Nita. I go to a therapist weekly to help me with the emotional side of all of this so I don't repeat the same behaviors and eventually regain. She told me to compare it to being an alcoholic with your best friend and all of the sudden you decide to quit drinking. It's natural for her to go on the defensive. My friend and I share "fat" stories, embarrassing "fat" emergency snacks that we make up and all other sorts of info. So now she is scared that because I have had this surgery the dynamic of our relationship will change. And it probably will. I am still not getting the support that I would like from this person. It used to break my heart. But now that I understand her emotions and why she feels the way that she does, it doesn't hurt me as much anymore. And I am just proving to her by still going to the movies and out to eat...that we can still do the same things we did before. And she's actually slowly coming around. She is taking better care of herself. Eating better...going to the gym. So I hope that once she sees my success she will be inclined to follow in my footsteps. Cause let's face it...we can try to convince ourselves all day long that we are happy...but no one is happy at 250+ pounds!
