  1. I couldn't have said it better myself. The ultimate goal is to adopt a healthier attitude towards food and adopt a healthier lifestyle. No one is perfect...and eventually you will be allowed to eat what you wanna eat so the this year should be spent creating new healthy habits...not beating ourselves up for being human. We should use our tool to our advantage as well as maintaining a positive mental attitude
  2. 188 lbs today. Down from 285 lbs. I'm 8 months out. Only 28 lbs to go to get to my goal of 160 lbs. I had plateaued for about 3 weeks so I was very happy today to see movement from the scale....
  3. Struggling to get to my -100 lbs mark. Will be 8 months out in two days and down 93 lbs. Been at this mark for 2 weeks now. Once I get there I'll only have 25 lbs to go! Yay!!!
  4. I'm zumba-ing 3x a week now after I leave Curves®.... Its fabulous!
  5. The mood swings come from estrogen. Quite common. Estrogen is stored in fat and as you burn fat the estrogen is released. You are actually quite fertile at this time as well...hang in there. I cried over everything the first 4 months. I had a plethora of different emotions inside of me!
  6. I thought that it would be easy since the naysayers all said that this was taking the easy way out. This takes just as much effort time commitment as weight watchers or any other weight loss program. I'm not complaining and I have no regrets, I just don't want anyone that isn't ready to put in effort and commitment to be deluded into thinking that this process is anything like a magic wand because it is not. I now know that its all about changing one's relationship with food. It took a while but my love affair with food has ended. Replaced with a love of exercise and movement. Replaced with a love of being healthy and a dash of self love. I actually just took my food addiction and replaced it with a positive one. But by far this HAS NOT been a walk in the park...yet a walk I'm glad I took...
  7. I feel that way all of the time even after losing 93 lbs....but I keep reminding myself that I'm a far cry from where I was and I'm not gonna have the body of a young girl at 43 years of age. Self acceptance and gratitude come into play also. I weigh 193 lbs down from 285. According to my BMI I am still obese (not morbidly obese anymore!) 7 1/2 months out. But if I never lose another ounce I thank God everyday for every ounce pound and inch that I have lost!
  8. Be patient and take SMALL sips. Sip all day long. Staying hydrated is very important!...good luck and congrats

  11. That is so super fantastic!!
  12. 195 lbs today...started at 285....total of 90 lbs...35 more lbs to go! Yay!!!!
  13. My totals for everything was 42,000+...my insurance paid everything except for approximately 1200$. I applied for a hardship grant through the hospital because at the time I was a dislocated worker...and they approved it so my surgery and all of the trimmings end up costing me $0 out of pocket. The grant has even covered my office visits as well as my monthly b12 injections.... I am truly blessed. This surgery has been a blessing all the way across the board...
  14. Aarval you are giving Bruno Mars a run for his money! U are dreamy!!!!... u go boy!
  15. Really nice waistline!!!! You look marvelous!!!!!
  16. I have now lost 86 lbs of the 125 lb target. I now only have 39 more lbs to go. When I look at my before pics compared to now, I absolutely can't stop laughing...I can now admit that I was HUGE!!!!! But 61/2 months ago you couldn't tell me that I wasn't the hottest thing smokin'! and for some reason that makes me bust out in laughter!!! People tell me that I look happier now. That my facial expression has changed....more approachable now. I'm so friggin' happy with this weight loss!!!!!!
  17. Thanks! Only 39 more lbs to go!!!! I am soooo excited!!!!!!
