  1. Still can't drive. My back still hurts like crazy. The pain in my upper left quadrant is slowly getting better. Don't know what I'm going to do. Would have thought by now I'd be on the other side of the pain hump:( Still 2 weeks before I go back to work. Just praying it's all gone by then!
  2. Good luck! I'll be thinking good thoughts for you:)
  3. I'll be 1 month post op tomorrow:) I still am unable to drive. When I get behind the wheel and attempt to drive the pain in my back goes through the roof. I can't find a comfortable position. Anyone else have this issue? Any constructive suggestions? I have to go back to work on the 20th and its a 30 mile drive. I sure hope I can figure this out.
  4. That's too funny!! Good Sam is a cute little facility but they don't pay very well. And they pull from floor to floor. I'd hate that! So HACC Lancaster does clinicals at Good Sam? Huh, interesting. I went to HACC main campus.
  5. I live in Annville which is close to Hershey. I originally listed Hershey cause most people know where that is but few know Annville:) I just saw your previous post where you said York! Lol! Of I'd just read back:) I seem to remember you saying you're an RN. Where? Myself- an RN on the Womens Unit at Harrisburg Hospital.
  6. Some people are just insensitive a$&es. This surgery is no joke. Some people have no or little pain. Others have major pain. And still others suffer major complications. I feel like I'm the crazy one when I hear someone say, "oh I was fine. Didnt need pain meds. Etc, etc." I'm 3 weeks and 3 days out. My back kills me. I still get the tearing/burning pain in my lt upper abdomen if I move the wrong way. I deal. I'm up, out and about with a chauffeur cause driving makes me cry in pain. He's being a jerk. There is no saying your sis in law would fair any better. Each person has a different experience. And if he has nothing constructive to say he should shut his yap!!
  7. Great job!!! That's an amazing weight loss!! Did you do anything differently this week than in previous weeks?
  8. Where in South Central PA?
  9. I'm on depo and have been for years. I haven't had a period in years. I got my last shot in mid May. I had a very light period that started 2 weeks post op (just what I needed on top of my pain issues) and lasted 5 days. I was shocked!!
  10. Kwal, No one should ever, ever, ever wear a speedo unless they are competitive swimming or diving;)
  11. I have an SUV. It hurts my back horribly. I have to lay my right side on the console and then cock my neck so I can see out the window. Ridiculous!! I've tried a pillow, grinning and bearing it, etc. Luckily I don't really have anywhere to go until I go back to work in 2 weeks. I don't know how I'll ever make that drive!
  12. After 10. Now 7-8 when driving, sitting straight up, getting up and laying down. 1-2 when standing straight up, walking and laying flat on my back.
  13. That's what mine is like in the front. Sharp burning stabbing pain. Very pinpoint. Feels like I'm being repeatedly stung...... Went to my family doc. She gave me everything I wanted. Love, love, love her:) The Mobic is kicking butt so far. Haven't even taken the vicodin or muscle relaxer:)
  14. I'm headed to my family doctor in an hour. I'm asking for vicodin, toradol and a muscle relaxer. She's pretty good about giving me what I ask for. If she says no my surgeons nurse said to call back cause he'll write for more narcs and mobic.
  15. So I bit the bullet and went to the ER today. I went out driving on Wednesday. I had been pretty pain free. By the time I got home I was in horrid pain. Each day the pain got a little worse. Today it was ridiculous. Burning pain in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen. Stabbing/burning pain in my left flank. Woke up with a temp of 99 when my norm is 97.2-97.4. I thought I might have a kidney infection or kidney stones. All my blood work and my CT came back normal. No signs of infection, abscess, surgical leaking, etc. It's all muscular they tell me. Believe me, I thank God for that. But how the heck am I supposed to live through this. I feel like I'm whining. The pain was much better and now it's almost the worst its ever been. I don't know what to do. I walk! I'm trying to be active! But I'm not comfortable unless I'm laying flat or standing tall and straight!! Ugh, any suggestions?
  16. No nasty protein aftertaste?
  17. Hershey, PA. Dr DiMarco was my surgeon from Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA.
  18. Ask them for morphine before they open it. Even with the lido!!!
  19. Good luck! No worries. You'll be getting plenty of rest in no time.
  20. Fitting on Space Mountain, riding my bike with my daughter!!
  21. Welcome. Jump right in:)
  22. Way to go on the 25 lbs!! It's exciting. Isn't it?
  23. Mami, You made me giggle while trying to eat my breakfast! I'm lucky I didn't inhale it:) It's like a crab cake only lobster meat instead of crab meat.
  24. Beach, Don't have a husband anymore. My ex though was very skittish when I screwed up and told him. We haven't gotten along very well for years. He was the first text after surgery checking to see if I was ok. Followed by 5 more begging me to answer him cause he was getting worried (10:30 surgery didn't start until 1). He checks on me everyday, which I find hilarious since he's wished me dead many times;) But my real issue was my dad. He was so opposed I didn't tell him anything more. He knew someone who died post op from complications. Though he couldn't tell me what exactly happened and he got mad when I said you can die from a fracture fix too. I said goodbye to him the morning we left. He was freaked when my mom called him at 12:45 to tell him I was finally on the way to the OR. Now he's come around to the point that he told me to make a list of the foods I news him to pick up at the grocery store. Sometimes it just takes awhile.
