1. I'm doing well so far and cannot believe I got my period this week and that's 2 in a row!!! That hasn't happened for me in years! I can't believe I actually got it. Its been 8 months since the last and 11 months before the previous. I hope this is good things to come!!!! Whhooooohooo!!!!
2. Hey lady! I'm gettin better every day but thank goodness I'm over the dreaded first 2 wks! I'm still working on gettin my protein and water Also. I'm just happy to not be in pain. I'm finally gettin a groove. How u been doin?
3. I just wanna say for all those goin in soon, don't worry! At all! We get worried because we kno so much and we researched and know the risks and all that's good but all the complications you hear of have such a small percentage if happening to u. Allow yourself to adapt the soldier mentality and get thru the hard part which is by far the first 1-3 weeks and after those lil battles are conquered, then u realize you won the war and your fear will only slow your healing...it causes anxiety. It's gets so much better every day!! Remeber that on day #2 and #4...lol Stay positive all, you will be fine! Its not easy but it's doable and you're ready!!! Best of luck!
4. Ahhh 3 wks was a catch 22. It was when I began to feel better and slightly normal again but I hit my stall then too at 27 lbs, the scale didn't move that whole week and now at 4 weeks tmrw I'm down 30. I just got clearance for workouts yesterday at my 1 month post op appt. Before then just walking. But still have the restriction of no lifting over 20lbs. Good luck, every day gets better...thank goodness...the first two weeks should earn us a medal!
5. Congrats on your date! Good luck to u. How long do u plan on waiting before you try for baby? Either way keep us posted. I'm only 1 month post op and I'm trying so hard to wait for at least a year but any longer and I may change my mind....lol.
6. I was down 12 lbs on arrival home from the hospital. (2 day stay) I walked a lot...I was bored. Now at almost 3 weeks out, i'm am 27 lbs down and that's before I start my workouts tonight. I had a drain in for 2 weeks post op, maybe that helped and that kept me away from any workouts...that thing was extremely uncomfortable.
7. I've noticed since I brought a pill container, I have them with me all the time and now should not be missing any....as of today! Crystal light, thanks for reminding me that I need that. Water is hard going down but with crystal light or anything other than water, I have no issues. That's weird.
8. First off don't envy your friend for starving herself, she may be losing weight but she hurting her body at the same time. Be proud that you're are taking care of you. I'm almost 3 months out and I'm still having a hard time with all of those things too. I gets easier :-) why would you take a pill that allows you to not eat at all? Small meals is better than a pill and nothing at all. Maybe your doctor can recommend a different approach :-) Thanks. I guess I just admire her for moving along with her life seamlessly without it affecting her health. I don't want to live like her but I'd like to live...i guess i'm just being inpatient at getting back to just living and not focusing on pills, eating and drinking every moment. I know it will get better and I'm impatiently waiting...."It will pass.."
9. This absolutely helps, never thought of the liquid vitamins. And I do use water for my Protein shakes and that 2 a day for about another 16 oz. I never thought to add that. I need my hair, Imma handle this today...off to Rite Aid for liquid vitamins. Thanks
10. I just cant seem to make it all work. I must remember my vitamins!! I finally got something to put them in so I can carry them with me for the days I'm gone the entire day. Haven't taken the Citricals, even the petites turn me off due to the size. I try to get in my Protein but I may only get 30-40, could this be what's causing my dizzy spells and nausea? For my Water, I can barely get in 30oz. Water is hard to go down and seems to only go down with a huge air bubble accompanying it. Juices go down fine and shakes too but at 3 weeks out, should I already be expecting to meet the daily requirements or just keep trying? I have a friend who calls her sleeve "Rockstar" because she never has any sickness or complications and she forgets to eat for days(she claims 4 at the most), she eats whatever she wants, whenever she wants, she drinks alcohol like a fish but no water at all, even smokes, never ever took Vitamins and finally got pregnant 2 times after trying for 14 years and at 6 years out, I want to admire her since she still loses weight but now she can do it on demand and looks great but I want to do mine the healthy way, I just cant seem to meet these numbers... I already had a hard time eating which is why I thought this surgery would be perfect because I can eat less but it's like I have to eat so much during a day just to lose weight.....and I just cant force feed myself that way. 1 or 2 small meals a day works just fine for me....or a pill that allows me not to eat at all...I always feel so fat and heavy after I eat anything. So if I can only force one...which is more important, vitamins, water or protein??
11. Hey there, sorry to hear about your situation but I am hoping you can educate us as well. I was sleeved on 4-23 and was back in the hospital also due to discolored drainage, it was neon green and even a brown color when it should have only been red or yellow. They sent me home without a problem saying that since there was no pain or fever, that it was not an infection but that the drain was showing gastric juices and possible feces. I dont know how that happens and its not a problem but I'm ok. I was wondering if you were given the blood clot injections to use at home and if you used them the entire time. I was suppose to use them for 14 days and only did for 5, just couldnt give them to myself. Yet i notice this horrible radiating pain on my right side around my shoulder and underarm area... what other symptoms other than pain did you have? How long did you experience the pain? I guess this far out, I should be ok, I hope. What is being done to correct this issue? Thanks
12. Hey, Im only 2 1/2 weeks out and 28 lbs down and I think I have hit the dreaded 3 week stall. I've noticed a few days with a half a pound gain in the morning that was gone by the end of the day. I did always have Water retention issues so I also assumed it was that. I hope you get your answers. Good luck!
13. Thanks a lot, very thoughtful of u!

I'm wondering if I need to up my dosage...I have bad reflux all the time and I take the protonix pill day. I don't know which one I need more tho...protonix or gasx strips, I have a two punch that's killing me, indigestion and bloating mixed with a bit of heartburn and reflux. I wish I didn't have to eat at all, its so uncomfortable. Wish I could just live off of the multi Vitamins and supplements. I'm so turned off by food.
15. Congrats to you all....I pray to be here soon but not too soon even though, after 16 years of trying after my daughter, I been waiting patiently and I want it NOW!! lol
16. Hey guys...I feel great every day until I try to eat or drink. I have heartburn/indigestion all day every day...I take protonix but it doesn't seem to help much. I need to try another drink other than Water to make it go down better cuz when I do drink, it feels like it goes down with a huge gas bubble and then it seeps Into my stomach slowly and I'm uncomfortable every moment. Its crazy but Yes, the drain was annoying but I had no issues with reflux or indigestion, I felt great with it and could eat and drink just fine, now...I dread anything to eat or drink. I hope this goes away over time cuz I just wanna feel as normal as possible again. Surgery was 4/23 and today down 27lbs. So far, only walking but as of Wednesday, I will be stepping it up to Cardio 4x a week. I'll keep u posted.
17. Finally had my drain removed Wednesday and feeling so much better. I'm outta all my clothes already...yaay! (Kinda) I'm 2 weeks and 2 days out and 27 lbs down...having trouble gettin in liquids and protein...smh. I'm work in on it.
18. When u get to choose new wedding rings!!!
19. Doing great over here in Baltimore. 2 weeks out, 22lbs down and can't wait to be 2 years out!! Have a great life all...
20. You guys are all doing great! I'm 2 weeks out as of today, 22lbs down and I feel great! Looking forward to my first post op appt today to remove my drain so I can really maximize my workouts...I only walk right now. Good luck all..
21. Today is my 2 week post op appt and I'm hoping to have this drain removed. I'm 22 lbs down and I feel great other than this freaking drain hanging outta my stomach, I don't even feel like I can workout yet...I only walk. I cheated at my week and a half mark and paid for the next 2 days by being unable to eat or drink and being completely uncomfortable sitting, standing or laying...the worse. NEVER EVER AGAIN will I allow myself that kind of pain for pleasure. Though I feel fine, I was hospitalized for the color of my drain but was told that the green and brown being drained was unexplainable since I had no pain, no fever, blood work was perfect and CT Scan showed no leaks or other issues...,it was a horrible.color and smell so alarms went off but hopefully now that the color has returned to safe yellow and its less than 5 ml, I need them to remove this thing so I can start living! Check these colors and if u see them go to the ER right away...your drain should only produce red or straw yellow fluids....
22. What are the signs and symptoms of these conditions? I had 2 serious coughing spells and with this hernia repair, the jp drain and 1week old stitches, I'm concerned how sensitive our Insides are. The sleeve incisions didn't hurt at all but the slicing burn around my belly button and drain site concern me. I was lying on my back when it started and it hurt so bad I had to hold the hernia repair wound and the exit for the jp drain really tight but the coughing was like a serious hacking cough. I coughed up a thick stiff pile of darkened mucous, it was a dark dirty green color. And instantly my jp drain started draining blood again instead of the straw yellow that it's been for the past 2 days. I can worry too much and just need to hear what normal coughing experiences might have caused. Can I tear the staples inside or more likely affect the outter incisions? Heavy coughing ever cause a leak??
23. If your like most people i've experienced here....the closer the day gets the more u will talk yourself in and out of it. Anxiety will cause weird New habits also But congrats to u, you'll do great!
24. Did this for the first time yesterday...took a bite of it, chewed it to where I could've swallowed it but I spit it out and I was soooo ok with that. Didn't wanna swallow it..
