  1. Hey there....Um, I've lost nearly a 100 pounds and still have some ways to go. I've noticed that I'm having some issues. Sex hurts now, now all the time, but the penetration isn't always as exquisite as it once was. If I angle myself differently, it isn't so bad or it goes away all together, but this is a problem I've never had before. :bored: Are any of you experiencing this or any other changed in your sex life? What about oral sex? Does...gosh, how do you say it without just saying it? Okay, is swallowing an issue? I mean you have to sip slowly right, but.... Okay, maybe this is all a little TMI, but who else am I gonna ask? You guys are the ones living it, breathing it and well, anyway...
  2. Do you happen to know if he has experience with lap band/gastic bypass patients? Also, do you need any other work done?
  3. Don't go Tammy Fay!!! You know 62 isn't what it used to be. Don't fall for the old hype. You probably don't need as much make up as you think, too. But yeah, the loose skin is hard to deal with. We all have to do it and we're all going to be better for it. (And screw the world. If you want a bikini do it!)

309.6 This morning!!!!!! I hope it's not a fluke. It might be water weight? Who knows I'm on the tail end of my time of month and my body has never been fully cooperative in that area. It's at least a moody bitch. 309.6 sounds good in any case. It's a start and I'm hoping I can do this and be 300lbs by 6-22-08. If I'm really at 309 though I might be there by the 20th. ( With the 1 pound a day loss.) Hmmm, I'm thinking too hard on this. You know no plans. I'll just worry about today and get through this one. Whatever comes off, comes off.

  6. How tall are you? I'm 5'10" and my regular Dr. thinks my optimal wieght is 175. Dr. Machado asked me to shoot for 200. I figure I''ll probably be carrying around 20 pounds of skin so....eww, that just icked me. Anyway, sorry to pound you with the questions. I think I'm too curious sometimes. 175, 140, either way you've already done a great job.
  7. Okay. I have to stop there for a minute because this interface is driving me batty. Maybe it's due to the fact that I'm on my period and started the straight liquid diet again, yeah again. Yesterday I went in for my weigh-in and only lost 2 pounds. I knew it was going to be next to nothing, better than nothing, but not by much. So I asked Dr. Machado to write out a contract for me and have me sign it. I told her I'm kind of like a puppy who needs her face shoved into the poo. I mean, I don't know why this is suddenly soooo hard. The contract was "drawn" up. I signed it. My next appointment is 6-27-2008. I need to be near/at/below 300 lbs. by then. I need to have my surgery scheduled before the end of August. I can't keep doing this and remain sane. I can't let myself sabotage myself either. I don't know. It's not like I'm fucking up, not badly. I'm jus not....what am I not doing? You know I'm a bit testy today, on edge to say the least. Perhaps this isn't the best time to attempt a calm discussion with myself. I already want to tell myself to shut up so I will politely say, "Bitch you ain't getting a sammich for dinner or a salad or a slab o' meat. Too bad you're on your period. You signed up for this. Do it or walk away, but don't spend the next two weeks complaining about what you have to do." You know, sometimes I want to flip myself off. I'm gone to stare at recipes because I still need to learn how to eat when I can again.

  9. Oh that sounds great!!! Good job. How close are you to your goal?
  10. Someone told me I have an "A"personality when it comes to certain things. So yeah, I think it's good for me to remember I'm not in competition with anyone, not even myself. I will get there when I get there; I just need to keep moving towards that goal and not let any of this feel like an insurmountable obstacle. Thanks!
  11. Thanks Heatherlynn, a whole lot. Yeah, the surgery day was a bit harrowing, but I think I handled it well. I'll get there. i haven't done this much to stop now. *Gets my best movie cop look* "It's personal now." Okay, maybe that was a bad impression.
  12. Thanks, Paula. I need every little pat on the back I can get.
  13. Hi AzChick, I kind of told her what I wrote here. It wasn't word for word, but it was enough to get the point across. I asked her to make a contract for me to sign, two week, just two weeks on the straight liquid diet. If I can do this, then I can have the surgery I've been working for. Not hard right? LOL, doesn't matter if it is or not. I'm gonna do it. Thanks so much for your support!
  14. I know, I know! *laughs at myself* I guess my mini-breakdown has been a long time coming. Yes, any weight loss is good and it doesn't matter if it came off with the band or not. I am still closer to my goal. Thank you for your kind words and for listening.
  15. I go for my weigh in today. I've only lost about 3 pounds since my last weigh in and I need to get to 300 before the will re-evaluate me for my 2nd attempt at the surgery this year. (First one failed). I'm stressing because I've felt like I've done as much as I can handle. I feel whiny for not being able to do the full liquid diet thing for two weeks, but then maybe it would be easier if I hadn't been on the liquid diet for so long. I know I've lost a lot of weight and I sound like a broken record dealing with basically the same issue for the the last few months. I don't know what to do. I did the straight liquid diet for four days and lost three pounds. The fourth I lost nothing and I felt like why bother? So the next day I had salad and meat for dinner. I stayed steady at my weight and have been there since. I should have "put my nose to the grind stone, been bad ass, put in that extra 1000%" but I'm tired at the moment, very, very tired of preparing for my band. It's been so damned long in the coming and though I know my behaviour is making it even longer, I can't seem to get my head on straight and I feel lost. I think my biggest issue right now is going into the office and feeling like a failure. I am not. I have lost a significant amount of wieght. What feels so unfair is the knowledge that I haven't had the band yet and the worry that having gone through what I have is going to make weight loss that much more difficult even after the band. Sorry, I need to vent because no one at work understands. They just see a whiny hungry fat girl They don't see what I have accomplished, the changes I have made in the last several months or the hardship of not having eaten "normally" for as long as I have. I know "normal" will be different from days past. I mean normal as in not having shakes day in and day out and avoiding everything that is not veggies or chicken. Gosh, you'd think I'd be slim as a piece of paper by now. I'm not. I still have a long way to go and today that distance seems so very far. Again, sorry for dropping this on all of you. Like I said, I just needed to vent and pretend like someone was actually listening.
  16. Hey Setagirl, how's your band going?
  17. Are we gonna get pics?!?!?! LOL!!! Good for you. Wow the 19th is practically now. How long will the healing process be, btw? Do they expect a lot of swelling initially?
  18. I used low carb salad dressings because a lot of the "light" ones I came across had a lot of sugars. In the end though, I opted for making my own. That way I could control the amount of everything and if I wanted something sweet I added Stevia. I also occassionally stirfried my chicken w/veggies,garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil. I changed the flavor my using sesame oil or adding soy sauce. Basically, anything that didn't add carbs or that many calories I might throw in there. Hope that helps. :cursing:
  19. How about splitting meals? Asking for a lunch portion? Just eating what you want and taking the rest home for lunch the next day or someone else's lunch if there's no way your going to finish it? I know at Mimi's they have a "small bites" section. I've ordered off of that and it's reasonable for an off liquid diet splurge*. I think it'd still be too much post band, but again no one says you have to finish any meal at the table. Also, I'm sure if you ordered off the kids menu they'd accept the explaination, but...then a lot of the things on the kids menu I wouldnt eat. I'm sorry, if I'm going to eat a burger I want lettuce and mayo and all that things that are supposed to go on burgers. Anyway, my boyfriend and I have been practicing. We split meals since most of them are too big for one person anyway. (If he wants more he can order an appetizer). Oh and ordering off the appetizer section isn't a bad idea either.
  20. I like Girls Gone Wild with The Powder Room after that, but really I'm a little more kickass than that. Ummm, we could go geek and do Marvel Girls. Belle Femme Grrl Band Silouhettes The Salon The Parlor Boys on the Side Ummm, maybe no. Uh...Girls Gone Wild!!! That's it!!!
  21. Thanks Heather, I think I know all of this, but I stumble when it comes to social eating. I never realized how much food I am offered at work until I started all of this. I calculated it one day and think the if I ate "right" every where else, I'd still gain 10 pounds a year from eating everything offered. Yeah, a year from now, this will be an amusing story to tell other Bandsters. I'll do some Zen meditation and see if the future me will give me a pat on the head and tell me to quiet down. :biggrin2:
  22. I've been told the way I carry my fat is the issue, not the weight itself. I've seen bigger people than me in my Surgeon's office. But, I carry most of my weight in my stomach, kind of like a pot belly man. I have relatively thin arms, legs, face etc and look very much like an apple on sticks. I wouldn't worry too much about it. My situation is a fluke. She's only had to stop one other surgery in her WLS career and that was due to some other complication. ( I don't know what it was though. If I asked I can't recall her answer.)
  23. Come to think of it, I remember writing in my journal about how I realized in the first few days of my liquid diet how artifical my energy has been most of my life, mainly sugar. You're right, that's a part of it, but I feel better now with out all of the "extras" in my system.
  24. I feel tired when I don't take my vitamins or drink a lot of water. If worse comes to worse I have a cheesestick and that usually helps my energy levels, but even so I have no where near the same amount of energy I had when I was eating whatever I wanted.
  25. Didn't have to go through this. I would say change surgeons if it's really that troubling for you. If not, just do what they say. Some Dr's have good reason to make you do more and if you trust him then maybe this one does?
