You do ROCK! We have so much to gain and we are not losing anything! I've been on this journey before with my lap-band. It isn't a "piece of cake" lol however it is a lout easier with our tool.
Once we start to try other foods you will soon learn that tastes are a lot better. 1bite of something will satisfy those screaming desires.
But the main thing is the head and for me the nose! Thinking about that cinnamon bun and smelling it as it bakes is very hard. What I have done in the past and am doing now is thinking about the fact that it smells good, BUT, I'm not really hungry for it. Becoming aware of our feeling of hunger and satisfaction, thoughts and desires, and smells. That's the part we have to feed on. It's not easy but in a few months when the new spring cloths come out and we can walk into any store and try on anything we want. That's the exciting time! It's right around the corner for all of us!
We have a tool we are on a honeymoon right now and wow it's awesome. But when our honeymoon is over and we are in situations that are tempting we need to stop and think what's going on with our emotions.
On a lighter note last night I went to the movies with my husband and son. I sat in the middle they both had popcorn with butter on it. I would have loved even 1 bite lol. But I picked up my Oh Yeah Protein shake and sipped away.

You know we've done this before, the weight loss part, and i have only lost 1 pound this past week and 1 pound the week before. I'm trying hard not to get discouraged. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not going up and according to my dr I'm not getting enough calories in and that can cause the body to hold off losing. This sure isn't an easy journey but it never has been. I've stopped eating after dinner which is driving me crazy lol! I know it's my head not my tummy. I will have a sf ice pop if I really want something.
We can't give up!

I'm 4 weeks and starting soft foods. It's so wonderful to see a light at the end of the tunnel! 21 pounds since my pre-op appointment. I'm pretty happy with 20 pounds in 1 month! I just have to work on more calories and more protien.

Jane that sound so yummy to me! I am amazed at how a 1/2 a cup of Soup has made me full! I love it!

Toofluffy. I'm glad your nut said that about carbs lol I has about 1/4 cup today of mashed potatoes and was concerned about it! I lost 2 pounds this week. I'm having so much trouble getting protien down food and Water. I know it will get better though. Wonderful times in store for all of us!

I had my revision to the sleeve on 1/13. 4 weeks ago today. I've lost 23 pounds and I love the feeling of not having the band! I can't explain it but I feel so much better without it.
All the research I've done people seem to have great results with the sleeve. As of right now I'm very happy!

Toofluffy your so funny about the Cookies. I layed down the law and said no more cookies in this house ever again. I am so afraid of dumping! I sure hope my year continues.

MJM I'm so sorry! I'm glad he is trying other options before the bypass. I will continue to pray for you. I love you positive attitude. Hang in there and all will be ok. Hugs!

We should do a wls meet up one Saturday in Charlotte!!! Maybe for fun run/walk event? I have been wanting to participate in a walk for the cancer cure in honor on my dad.

Not going back to work for 4/6 weeks as I'm a nurse and can't afford to be pulling and tugging on ppl.

dlm59, I don't know sometimes after surgery, your taste buds can change, I used to love chocolate pudding n yesterday, when I try it, it taste horrible to me, yuck!! I will try again sometime next week.
The Miralax powder is working, I started Wed until Sat..I pour an 17 grams of Miramax onto an 18 ounce Water cup, im going to stopped now for a few days, cuz I don't want to get diarrhea, sorry tmi, lol n I want to go easy on my new stomach

Dlm59 I had a little pain the first day not much and I was very tender getting up and down all of day 2 ( which felt like food /poo in my intestines) but haven't felt anything since.

I've really had no incision pain...only took pain meds to help me sleep for 2 nights.
I can have sugar free pudding on my liquids, so I think it's ok. I just had so many problems with the trotzkies, doctor told me today to take a probiotic and use benefiber...it seems to be doing the trick.
I too had a BM on Thursday & Friday before all "hell" broke loose!!!
Glad to see everyone is doing well.

Well I had a moment, n hubby kick me out of the kitchen, n I just drink a 3 ounce of chocolate ensure n sipping on Water now...

I was sleeved on Jan 7th, I will be happy to eat EGGS! lol However, I too heard from various of people that they cant tolerate certain foods ie: pizza and Chinese (my 2 favorite foods). I honestly went head first into this and don't plan on looking back. I just put it In my head that this is it. No more games. I am done with feeling crappy and not fitting into nice clothes. Can I do without the pizza and Chinese for that? Hell yes!! It wont be easy, I am 10 days post op and still doing fluids and Protein Shakes and let me tell ya, chicken/beef broth is my dinner and Jello never tasted so good. (those are my new Chinese and Pizza foods) for now

I was sleeved 2/12/13, have lost 96 lbs and have not missed any foods what-so-ever!
My husband was sleeved on 1-2-14 and that was his #1 concern. He was afraid he would have food cravings and miss eating. It's only 2 weeks after surgery but he's lost 24 lbs (including pre-op liquid diet) and he has no hunger at all and no cravings at all.
The best part is that he is a diabetic and is used to running 250-350 with his blood sugar checks. He has had no diabetic medication since surgery and his blood glucose is running 102-125 consitantly. He basically had the surgery to get rid of his diabetes. He has a total of 70 lbs to lose.
He was a hard core eater and sweet eater. I am very proud of him!

Well I'm so glad to find these threads!
I was banded the 1st time 8 years ago. When I went for my very 1st fill a leak was discovered in the port and the band itself. So everything had to be replace which was so hard emotionally to go through. I was never able to have even 1cc in my band. I did wonderful with the weight loss though. I even got to 4 pounds from my minds goal.
Then I started getting sick constantly. So the unfills began. To make a long story short I gained all but 20 pounds back. I get sick sometimes on liquids and I'm tired of getting stuck!
So tomorrow I am getting the band removed and going to the sleeve! I'm excited! Looking forward to my new adventure.

well got sleeved today.Pain has been minimal and but ive been real sleepy! Now it's time to heal and get movitved to loss the rest of my wirth!
