    November fitness challenge

I want to run my first 5k next year so I'm going to start jogging as part of my walking regimen. This morning I jogged 3 minites intermittently. I want to jog 5 minites straight and walk for 20.

    Itching

I am 5 wks post op and still itch. I still have bandages. My incisions have been slow to heal so bw the healing and sensitivity to bandage tape, I itch a lot.
  3. I love this....I'm 3 weeks post op and haven't worked up nerve to cheat. Dietician scared the crap out of me but I did spend 5 minutes inhalin the scent of my son's pizza the other night and was tempted to lick the cheese.

    August Sleevers?

I had mine on Sept 23
  7. Jen....You should be prepared for many ups/downs. Afterall, haven't we experienced those ups/downs as obese people. My advice is to sit with your husband and discuss your reasons for the surgery and explain how inportant his support will be following surgery. I'm divorced. I live with my teen son and while I have an incredibly supportive mother, she lives 5 hrs from me. After she returned home I developed a MINOR complication. You may need his help. Ask him to stay focused and supportive if improving your overall health and quality of life. For better/worse, sickness/health:)
  8. I started at 234. Day of surgery I was 219. At 13 days post-op Im 207.

    Time off for desk jobs?

I am 12 days post op. I thought I would return to work the following Monday but it hasnt worked out due to a minor open wound complication. I have a desk job. Still hoping to return for at least 1/2 days next week.

    anaesthesia problems

I am sobsorry to hear that. I had the opposite problem. It took me 12 hours to become coherent after surgery. On the ither hand, I understand your depression. Im having difficulty with one of my incisions and I now need to pack it everyday. Im 10 days post op but very overwhelmed by this. I nearly passed out in front of the home health nurse. My surgeon has been dismissive of my concerns. Lets both hang in there!!

    8 Day Post Op Follow-Up

I had a follow-up appointment after 8 days post-op. I selected my surgeon because he is supposed to be a leader in bariatric surgery in my area. I drove an hour for this particular surgeon and others do as well. Since my hospital stay, I feel that my surgeon has been dismissive evening when I was scared from the vomiting of blood. Well today, the staples were removed. My large incision bled and had to be packed. The nurse handed my mother a bunch of supplies and said we need to "pack it" everyday. What kind of policy is that?? I realize the dr. may do these procedures all the time but I don't get surgery often and find this scary.

    Getting scared.

Byjenna.....I had my surgery on Monday. I too am a single parent of a 17 yr old son. I kept busy the day before. I organized my closet by sz. 2x, 1x, and what i previously called my wishful thinking clothes. Good Luck to you
