LindafromFlorida got a reaction from Momonanomo in Bullies
In life, we have the same negatives in the workplace. Church. Checkout lines. This is no different. Those negative people are here also. The rude people I encountered here are outnumbered by what seems to be a million happy, sweet and caring people who have become our friends. There are so many awesome people here. We can only be bullied by the bullies we let bother us. Here's to treating each other with respect, and saying to someone, "In addition to the other posts, I recommend....."

You should find an upscale consignment shop in any large city and buy yourself some new duds that fit during these phases Johnny! Enjoyed your tale. My husband has clothes 3x to large, stored and boxed in two houses, because he is a serious hoarder. Trouble is there is there are things like some lime green polyester plaid pants (no he never played golf). His 50-lb weight loss has kept him the baggy 3x so far. This shall be very interesting, like you! Keep up the story telling. I enjoyed!

    I sadly agree.
I read a post by someone who was within a week post op who was having problem getting liquids in. I suggested sugar free popsicles, because that's what helped me. Pretty benign, right? Well I guess not!
Fairly quickly, someone went to the trouble to actually quote me, then say "No, no, no! Drink G2!" Now, either answer is reasonable advice; these are suggestions. I personally find G2 intolerable, but to each his or her own--- who cares? My point is there was neither a right nor a wrong. But why would someone feel the need to be so aggressive? The only thing I can think of is that this person gets validation from such behavior-- and probably this person is ONLY getting validation from being rude on the message boards. It was so absurd that I didn't bother to reply and honestly, it turned me off of the boards. It's not worth fussing over, but it was REALLY off-putting. I'm now just not as active on the boards as I used to be. I think to myself: if THIS is what makes you feel important -- then it's all yours, there ya go. Pretty sad really.
So, all I can say is, when people are bullies like that on here, I just consider what may be the source of it.

We are all addicted to something, whether it be food, alcohol, work, drugs, adventure, pills, bulimia, sex, etc. Food has been my addiction. Alcohol was my family addiction on my mother and dad's sides of the family. We are here to change our addictions, and I wish I were 50 instead of 66 (when I had better health). But I sure plan on living the best life I can now that I am sleeved! Best of luck Nancy!

My husband and I were both sleeved after 10 years of seminars, research and thinking about it. This site gives you much information, so between here and seminars on WLS, you can decide. We have never been happier!!! 2 months post op.

any WLS will work.....no one is better than the other. I feel if you do your best, do what your doctor advises you to do in order to have the best results, the sky is the limit.....the hard part is doing it.....
i have the lap band/plication and have lost 156 pounds...so any WLS can and does work.....i feel the person is responsible for whatever they choose to work.....
    good luck

LindafromFlorida got a reaction from dylanmiles23 in Pre-Op Diet Starts Today
Edward, my husband and I were sleeved 2 months ago (10 years of looking at scary WLS). He was 320 lbs with diabetes, HBP, sleep apnea, heart stent, back problems. He was very afraid because of his health. He is 65. I was scared he would die if he did not have the surgery. Two months since surgery now, he is down to 273 (post op and pre op), and we are better mentally and physically. Wish we could have had surgery 10 years back but he wanted them t perfect it before he let them operate on him. God Bless. The longer you wait the worse it gets. Read and read more on this site, you will learn everythng!
