  1. Never had an issue with fasting in my experience. I usually drink prior to eating though.
  2. Allowed? I don't know any doctor that would tell you it's okay to smoke. I restarted my nargilah usage over the summer.
  3. I also smoke Nargilah (known as hooka.h in the States) on a regular basis. No issue here.
  4. "לבנות ולהיבנות" [Livnot U'Lehibanot] means "to build and to be built" in Hebrew. It's an organization located in Tzfat that offers volunteer opportunities for mainly North American Jews on tour in Israel.
  5. I loved Tzfat when I was in Israel over the summer. I wouldn't mind actually joining a Livnot U'Lehibanot program for a couple weeks during my next stint. That being said, I enjoyed more of my time being spent in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. And oh my....the foooood. It was post sleeve and I ate like a king. Chetzi falafel v'chummus b'pita, Bevakasha!!
  6. .אני לא אוהב לשתות שייק חלבון כל היום .שייק חלבון טוב לשתות מתי אני באוניברסיטה
  7. I was a 390lb sleever. Down to 233 in the first 11 months. Work it!
  8. Sorry for the huge photo! Got my VSG done December 18th, down 157lbs.
  9. !תודה רבה וחג שמח
  10. I had the VSG, I don't have an issue with Challot or Brisket. I don't drink wine because I do not enjoy the taste, but say Kiddush over Kedem Grape juice. I don't have any issue with drinking alcohol either, so I would say it may not be a problem, depending on your haggadah and how long you have in between the cups.
  11. All the people telling you that is unrealistic are not being honest. It really depends on what your stats are though. I've lost 125lbs in 5 months.
  12. How soon after your procedure did you have challah? Thanks! I'd say about 2 months.
  13. When you can properly lay Tefillin. (My arm was too big for my set!)
  14. Ha! I made Hamantaschen whilst I was making Challah on Friday. Prune, Caramel Apple, and Nutella. I only had a few yesterday, gave the rest to the family.
  15. As per religious observance, I bake and eat Challah every Friday and Saturday for HaMotzi. Between a pinch of Challah and about 3oz of Grape juice, I'm stuffed to the gills. I've had great luck with thin pieces of Rye for when I need a deli fix.
  16. I've already lost 79 pounds and its only been 10 weeks, so I am pretty sure losing over 100 is a given unless I become paralyzed and they hook me up to an IV of liquified cheetos. The other questions are just too stupid to answer to. Anyone with half a brain that follows politics knows what happened when he was vetted for Vice President in the 2012 election.
  17. I have Kedem Grape juice and Challah twice a week (Erev Shabbat and Shabbat morning), but only enough to fulfill the Mitzvot. Have yet to have an issue with my stomach and the Challah yet. I only make one Challah to prevent overeating (I'm sure HaShem would understand!). I'm about 10 weeks post op and have had Corned Beef multiple times (from probably about week 7 til present), so I imagine that my braised Brisket won't be too much of a problem. I'm saving the test til Pesach though. Those midweek dinners sound interesting. Any examples? I'm looking forward to going to Israel this summer and expanding my palate (but not my waistband).
  18. Yes, because every husband dreams of being with an unhealthy spouse. It goes both ways. If my spouse was doing an illicit drug, I'd probably give the same ultimatum. If I was literally killing myself by gaining tons of weight, I'd expect my partner to leave as well. Sounds terribly one sided in your case. It takes two to tango as they say. Relationships are 50/50. You should work to keep him as well, and he deserves just as much from you as from him. This thread is terribly sad and frustrating from a males angle.
  19. I'm at 9 weeks myself and am down 69lbs since surgery date (12/18). My restriction is still there when it comes to dense Proteins, so I try to eat that. I've had some pretzels that definitely slide through the sleeve much quicker. A fruit that I've come to enjoy post-op due to not only being a treat, but giving some restriction, is Mandarins/Clementines. Delicious and only about 40 calories per each one. Honeymoon is never over as long as you are working your program and losing weight!
  20. I would start by walking around your block. How are you feeling as far as energy levels? Build your way up.
  21. I like how everyone keeps missing my initial message that I meant that I would've considered that a failure to myself. Losing any weight is an achievement, but I've become jaded from TV shows like "My 600lb Life" where people that have no business getting surgery due to a lack of willingness to comply with a program get it done anyway. For the person who can read Hebrew (and thus knew what my name meant): התקווה היא לחיות חיים טובים יותר
  22. My comment was dripping in sarcasm, in case you couldn't sense it.
  23. brb logging into my schools database to look at more scientific research studies that have actual statistical analysis.
