  1. I'm so sorry for the people who are going through rough times right now, while I didn't have to be placed in the hospital I was where you are right now. I still cramp with water and other fluids first thing in the morning. I will be sending good vibes your way and if you believe in God I will send a prayer up for you ladies tonight.
  2. I also heard from the PA that helped with my surgery that Milk of Mag also is supposed to help with nausea.
  3. Glad you're going home Layknee. Keep those fluids going in. Did they ever really figure out what was wrong?
  4. Update: So I just went into my closet. I have 1 pair of pants I've not worn in 4+ years because they were always too tight. They are a size 20. I fit them now!!!! I was so not thinking they were going to fit either. Now I know what size to get while out at Old Navy tomorrow! Pretty soon I'll be in a size 18!
  5. I'm preparing myself to go to Old Navy tomorrow. I only have 3 pairs of pants and they are well worn and too big now, they are between 22/24. I'm hoping to be a size smaller. Today I went to my job to get some paperwork I needed and my boss can already tell I have lost at least 20lbs. I think my "intermission" might be coming to a close because I was down half a pound today, still 229 but only 229.2 lbs instead of the 229.8 lbs.
  6. My bmi was 45, I gained 20+ lbs from the band once they let the fluids out, since I was literally starved my body soaked up all the nutrition I could bring to it now and held on to all the weight. It was quite discouraging since I was trying to lose 10 lbs but instead gained 20.
  7. My surgeon also refused the sleeve, the reason being that he felt I would have the same results as the band and he felt that going for the bypass would give me the results I truly needed. He said since my weight loss was so small (approx 20 lbs) that the sleeve would give me similar results. He stressed that losing as much as possible would benefit me and my children. He was willing to give me recommendations to another surgeon who would have done it but since I trusted his judgment and because I was suffering from acid reflux all through the band I chose the bypass.
  8. You'll be okay. Us previous gladiators have been in your shoes, we'll be here after you come out! Good luck!
  9. I've heard that Omega 3's are supposed to help too, also keeping up with protein.
  10. On post op day 4 I felt that way. Some days I still feel like I may have made a mistake. I hear that goes away eventually, just that I want to survive seeing grandchildren being born. My kids are still little, oldest will be 8 in December so I have a long life to live. I know there are studies for 10 years out but I don't see much of people who are much farther than that. That's what I'm most nervous about, the uncharted after 10 years. I can't wait until I'm happy with my decision.
  11. @Beni@, you only have 6 days to go. How are you feeling about it?
  12. Same as Smiley. Gatorade 2 works really well for me.
  13. Thank you for this. This is a great analogy. It definitely makes me feel renewed!
  14. Maybe it's a stricture. I hope they find out what's wrong. It's probably best that they keep y p u to give you fluids that you need.
  15. Hopefully they figure out what's going on with you. Is it a constant feeling or is it intermittent?
  16. Cross posted from the pre surgery thread. I have hit a stall. 4 days of the same weight so far. I knew it was about to come soon. I've read these threads so often that I'm not too worried about it right now. Some have the stall for a full 2 weeks. I know it will start going down eventually.
  17. So, I've hit a stall! 4 days of the same weight so far.I figured it was coming soon. Since reading the site so often I know it happens and it will eventually go down again.
  18. I don't think it's lactose intolerance when it comes to me. I do just fine with milk, no sweating, no nausea. I get get hot sometimes but I wouldn't have eaten anything and still feel that way. I read from someone on here that once they do surgery our metabolisms kind of reset themselves. I'm wondering if that might be the reason I feel so warm all the time.
  19. I had the same thing, only on my right side. It is still a bit sore while bending but has been much better the last few days. I use to have to hold a pillow while deep breathing/coughing because of the pain. It will get better soon.
  20. I so understand. I can't wait until 4 weeks out when I can have some food to actually chew.
  21. I'm sorry you're going through some things. Have you used the gene pro? I mix it with milk and lite chocolate syrup, it has less than 10g of sugar in 2 tbsps. Try mixing it up a little bit.
  22. I go back a forth between them. I think once the 1st or 2nd of November gets here, everyone will be over here.
  23. I was pretty much back to pre surgery weight at my 1 week post op appointment too. I haven't weighed in a few days, since I'm coming up on the dreaded 3 week stall I have vowed to only weight once a week, I'm doing that on Thursday Morn.
  24. Well, that's new for me, it worked fine when I was over 200 lbs. I guess condoms then until I reach that 190. I don't take to other contraception very well, maybe I will take nuvaring for a while. We are very good at not having kids when we don't want them, we have 3 spaced out over 7 years, the 1st and 2nd are 4 years apart, the 2nd and 3rd are 2.5 years apart and only because we wanted the last sooner.
  25. Thank you all for your support. I am feeling so much better than I did at 4 days post op. I am nearly whole feeling, just some minor side pain, almost like a strained muscle. It is so nice to see so much accomplishments. Right now I'm a 22/24, I'm hoping to get to a size 8, I would like to end up being about 130 with a bounce up to 140.
