  1. I'm glad the nausea patch worked for you all, it did nothing for me however I believe the majority of my nausea was from the pca. Right now the only pain I'm having is at the incision sites. I've used my pain meds once today. I am tired of the protein I have now and am wanting to get unflavored so I can add it to stuff I actually like. Off to GNC in the morning for that. I had 1 bought of nausea today but that was with the protein shake. Since I get paid a week before I can go to my next food stage. So I'm going out to buy me pureed foods this weekend. Go Beni on that date, yay! I really need my husband to hide the scale. I haven't lost anything since my water weight and it's depressing me, sigh.
  2. One more thing. I vented to some friends recently about my nausea and pain and got some weird horror stories. Like a friend who's mom had gastric bypass still has nausea with eating but said she looked good in some type of outfit so if it works for her type of thing. That is very discouraging. I'm for sure not going to complain about my surgery again to them. Sheesh.
  3. Wow, I missed a bunch I'm doing better today than the last couple. I still have some nausea but it is slowly going away. I'm still waiting on that BM I'm supposed to have. It's hard watching people eat around you. 8 more days and I can move on to the purred stage. I finally lost my surgery fluid gain, that's about it for now though. I'm just nervous I won't lose like I'm supposed to even if I'm doing what I'm supposed to. I guess the failure of the band is still in my mind. Sigh. I'm sorry I missed everyone's surgeries on the 6th and 7th, I hope you all are recovering well.
  4. Me, I had the bypass done 10/2. I started talking to the surgeon about revising last October. You have to go through everything all over again. Psych evals, pre op testing, blood work, weight loss goal, NUT visits, the works. Hang in there you will get through it. I was unfilled for 8 months before I got the bypass and I gained up 10 lbs but that was all. I still had stuck moments with the band even unfilled. Now even with my slight nausea, my stomach feels more normal than it ever did with the band. Now water doesn't back up on me, I'm not consistently hungry. Good luck to you!
  5. I just revised 4 days ago. My head hunger is practically non existent. I have jo stomach hunger yet either. It feels like my stomach use to feel before the band. That is the most refreshing feeling as I was consistently stuck even while unfilled. I'm having pain but I would assume it's due to having to clear scar tissue to rid the band from my body. My surgeon wouldn't do it because he said it would be the same as having the band in as far as little results I've had on the band. I already feel like a failure for the band and I didn't want to do that again with another surgery. The next surgery I ever want to do is augmentation. I can't answer about co morbidity e's since I had none going in to whether surgery, just short and fat which gave me a bmi over 40. I was afraid of the rerouting too but after a year I believe the tiny finger nail hairs in our small intestines get longer, therefore absorbe more nutrients. We are getting in 3/4 ths of the calories we consume now (per my NUT). I hoped I answered some of your questions.
  6. I'm post op day 4 and looking for some progress to go off on. Starting weight was 250, surgery weight was 242. I'm sore, in pain and in the regret phase due to the pain right now. I need some motivators, please.
  7. I'm 2 days post op. I'm home but I am having some bouts of nausea. The nausea is worse then the pain for me. When did your nausea go away?
  8. @Layknee@ I just called them about it last week. I'm supposed to get some type of confirmation from them soon. They also have a cream to help with scars and stretch marks. Beni, you know the song "Roar" by Katie Perry is like the perfect song for our struggles. It has uplifted me so much through this. I get to go home today, so far it's been a whirl wind of emotions, sad and scared about leaks and my altered body, joy that I will finally be successful at losing weight. Nervous of people's reactions once I go back to work. Nostalgia about how I now have to go buy some new things as very soon my clothing will be falling off of me.
  9. What I'm going to start doing is going out to buy a medication container with morn, afternoon and evening. Plus I'm going to place reminders on my phone as alarms at least until I get into a habit.
  10. I got all my walks in today. Since I can have pain meds more frequently. Honestly for me nausea is worse than pain. I am getting better for sure. Thanks for the well wishes. While I freaked out last night about what I did to myself, I am much happier right now. I'm sure I will be firm in my happiness once I can eat normal foods again. Glad that will happen before I start work again. So on to my stats. When I came into the hospital I weighed in at 242.9 lb s (8 pounds down from my starting weight) My neck was :15", left arm was 16", right arm: 15.5 "Bust: 46", natural waist : 40 " Belly button : 45", Hips:54", left leg 30.5" right leg : 31.5 ". Going to do this monthly to keep myself motivated. Also wanted to show other pre ops the type of progression I'm having. I'm 5'2" tall.
  11. They had to change my pain mess because the stuff I was on was not helping. Plus they are giving me a muscle relaxant at midnight. Man that revision sure hurt, I'm sure the increased amount of pain I have is due to the removal then revision. Now on to pass gas, I've been doing good with my liquids and no nausea since they got rid so my pcc (self dosed pain meds) I'm hoping all works out for you Beni.
  12. I go home on Saturday if I feel well enough. No drains for me.
  13. Not much yet, was pretty dizzy still. I have stood though. I will be happy when they take this catheter out though.
  14. Aww Beni I'm sorry to hear this. All went well with my surgery, just a bit of nausea and pain. Nausea probably from anesthesia. Still a bit tired too. Finally able to wake up a little bit more. Just had swallow eval to check for leaks, all good. That's an asshole NUT, what a jerk.
  15. Okay so it ate my post. I'm too tired to repost it. Needless to say I measured and weighed myself for future reference. I won't be on in the morning because they don't want my belongings in when I first get there. My husband will be bringing them to me when he gets off work after 2:30pm cst. No sleep for me tonight too nervous.
  16. My pics. Excuse the hair and if it's sideways I don't know how to change it.
  17. I would also like to say I think life sucks for anyone who doesn't fit into the super model mode this society has placed on us. Yes it is a bit easier to move at 250 than it is at 400 but it still hurts my knees to run at my 250 lbs, I'm still miserable as my body doesn't like to support this weight. I have asthma which is very debilitating to lots of exercise add that to my being at least 110 lbs overweight (and at my height I would still be borderline overnight according to b mi at 5'3")
  18. I have a friend who started off at 410 lbs, she had the surgery over 5 years ago. She lost to 185 lbs in 6 months she has since kept up with it within 10 lbs for the past 4 years. She has recently gone down to 175 lbs after a tummy tuck. She would have lost more but she has felt comfortable at this weight and has maintained. She is 5'5".
  19. I'm so sorry Stephanie, did they give you a new date? It sucks they didn't look at your labs earlier.
  20. She's in surgery now, So excited for her! I will be there in 24 hours time!
  21. Hey, just got my labs back for surgery. All is normal and I'm officially cleared for it. Clear liquids tomorrow. I'll have the night alone with my husband tomorrow night, my mom will have my kids. Hmm what to do??
  22. Good Luck Karen Allen, I'm right behind you girl!
  23. I know Amylynns, I'm not actually counting Thursday since I have to go in that day so 1 whole day left! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time!
  24. I only went where I did because amazon didn't have the flavor packs of it. Now that I've tasted them I'm ready to move on to my purchase.
  25. In 2 days, my life is changing in 2 days! Not counting Thursday since that is the Day! I had my last pre op physical and I'm down from 249/250 to 244 ( I only needed to lose a few pounds). My doctor said my liver feels normal so I guess it must be good, not enlarged.
