  1. Hey ladies and gents. I've been on the gastric bypass fb page, it's interesting. Anyway I'm down to 213 lbs, slowing inching down to onderland, I joined a gym so Monday will be my first official workout after work. 2 days ago I went shopping for my daughter's birthday. I decided to try on some clothes to see where I'm at. I could fit into the size 16 in misses, the women's size 16 was a bit too loose in the belly area. The misses 16 was a tad too tight for me, I suspect in the next few weeks I'll be in them. Here's a pic of the size 16 misses.
  2. Goodness Bronxmerci, I'm keeping you in my prayers.
  3. That is so true. While I had about 1/2C of food on my plate my sister had 2 plates and a bowl (greens were in the bowl). She is overweight for her height but she is no where near I was and am now. I'm slowly getting down there but now with my smaller stomach I just can't look at the portions the same.
  4. I measure my waist (bend to the side to find your natural waist), my belly button area, my hips (typically 8" below waist), each thigh, each bicep area, my bust and my neck.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope everyone enjoys it. Weighed myself yesterday and measured myself today. I'm finally under 220, at a whopping 216, and have lost 15.5" since I last measured about 3 weeks ago. I'm thinking I might be in the size 16's soon. My scrub pants are falling off of me, still not getting any new ones until I'm down to under 200 lbs.
  6. 34 lbs down from my highest weight. I went to see the 3rd movie of the hunger games and my legs didn't touch the arm rests. That was a great feeling.
  7. I'm 8 weeks out tomorrow and I have hit a few mini stalls as they last a little over 1 week and a half. I have lost 34 lbs overall and 26 lbs since surgery. I find that I will lose 3-4 lbs over the course of a couple of days, then sit there for a week or more. Eventually all this worry will be for naught. Hang in there I'm in the same boat with you.
  8. My goodness Bronxmerci, I can't believe you have to go through all of this. If I lived closer I'd keep you company. Hang in there girl, you are the ultimate gladiator. Sending good and healing thoughts your way.
  9. Oh my goodness girls, you ladies are having a tough time. I'm so weak towards the middle of my shift at work now. I used to be able to work 16 hours and have 4 hours of sleep and back for 8, no problem. Now I'm barely making my whole 8 hour shift without feeling totally drained. I finallly moved past 220, Yay! although it is only 1 pound , and I've been this weight for the past week. Come on to be under 200 lbs, I'm really hoping to make it by New Years.
  10. I always say I will send good vibes your way. I do pray for people but if they have an unknown to me religious views, sending good vibes seems to be the most appropriate.
  11. I have eczema so I'm always dry and itchy during the winter. It goes away during the summer. I would try mixing some vitamin E oil into your lotions. It is keeping my sores at bay.
  12. I think I may have found my pattern with weight loss. It seems like I will lose a few pounds then stay at the same weight within a pound for 1 week to a week and a half, then drop more weight. Last time I dropped 7 lbs in 10 days then stayed within a pound up or down for 11 days. So far I've gone down 4 pounds again but it seems like I may be this weight for a week or more. My only concern is the fact I haven't dropped anymore inches in a while even with my week long pauses.
  13. Great job!
  14. I'm a cna at a hospital. My hospital does bariatric surgeries but I opted to not see co workers in the hospital, or for them to know what I've done. So I went to a hospital a good 30 minutes away from mine, during my 1st day I had a cna and she asked what I did for a living. I told her what I do and where I work. It turns out that she has a sister in law that I know who works with me regularly. Small world, I tell ya.
  15. Just a quick question. When did you start posting pictures of the new you on social media? I'm 7 weeks out and really not planning on doing it until I'm closer to goal. Most of my family on Facebook doesn't know I've had surgery and I don't want to tell them anything but it will be obvious I've done something when I post pics.
  16. That looks painful and infected. Please make sure you can be seen tomorrow.
  17. Can you see a difference? I can't really see one. Someone yesterday said she didn't recognize me because my face got so slim. The first pic was this past summer, the second was a week ago.
  18. So I'm down another couple of pounds, I'm now 220. Come on, 1 more pound and I can be out of the 220's forever! Since I'm now 220, I've dropped 30 lbs! I'm so hoping I can be out of the 200's by New years eve, or even the End of Janurary. I figured we have a little over 10 weeks until New Years Day, if I can lose 2 lbs a week for the next 10 weeks I'll be out of the 200's by then. Here's to hoping.
  19. Today sucked in terms of eating. Nothing went down very well. Liquids were fine. I just tried this blue agave syrup in my herbal tea today. It tasted just like regular sugar and it is low on the glycemic index.
  20. Been gone a few days. I am really having trouble keeping my liquids up while working. I don't have a sit down job and we can't keep our liquids where patients and family can see them. I had 24 oz yesterday at work which was good and that made up to 48 oz for the whole day. I'm trying really hard to not get dehydrated while I'm working. I lost an additional pound for a net loss of 28 lbs. Still waiting to hit under 220, it seems like I'm going to lose so slowly. I know I'm complaining but I can't help it.
  21. I haven't started tracking my calories yet. I do get in 1 Protein Drink a day of the GENEPRO, my nut says that's enough. Plus I get in at least 32 oz of liquids. I try for 64 but it doesn't always happen. I don't wait a whole hour after eating. I wait about 30-45 minutes depending on how I'm feeling. At work its hard to get in all my fluids, I do try though. And I had to switch up my Vitamins so I can get them all in. I take all but my Calcium before work, then on my 2 breaks that are usually 3 hours apart I take my calcium. It's working so far.
  22. At night could you take some wash cloths, or pillow cases to keep it dry while sleeping. That might help with the rash some as well.
  23. That is the stall. I started mine as soon as I started pureed foods. It lasted for 12 days then I dropped 4 lbs and am now the same for the past 4-5 days but my good old aunt is here so that could be why I'm still the same weight.
  24. can you go to a different doctor? I'm sorry he doesn seem on board. I had a revision from lap band to bypass, I originally wanted the sleeve but my doctor felt I would get the same results as the band. I thought about it and felt the same. I know possibly finding a different doctor will push your timelines back but you'd rather be happy with your doctor rather than resent him later.
  25. We started off at the same weight. I'm happy but I'm counting from my highest weight. I only lost 8 lbs right before surgery and I'm sure the last 3 were Water weight I lost due to the bowel prep. So I figure if I count the 8 lbs into my total loss this month it put me at 27 lbs gone, forever! Now on to the other 93 lbs.
