  1. Yeah the cola evils pretty bad. I have started using benefiber. No taste and you mix it in whatever you are drinking and can't even tell. Also can you put them in something to mask the flavor.
  2. The liquid pain Meds aren't too bad, thank goodness. Just the others.
  3. So far I have taken liquid zofran ( never again). I tasted nasty, burned as it went down and made me so crampy and nauseous that I had to lay down. That is the worst I have felt yet. The liquid colace isn't as bad, but is still nasty. Not fun. I know it is not for long and I can do this, I needed to tell those that understand.
  4. Good luck vanceheather5 you will do great.
  5. Hi everyone, I did it! I was sleeved this morning at 7:15. I was nauseous and in pain when I woke up, but now not so much. I have walked the halls already. I feel like I have done a hundred sit ups, but that is the only pain. They have me on a PCA pump, but it only get the Meds when I push the button and I am hardly pushing it at all. Congratulations to all those that we're sleeved today.
  6. Ok, I just got my call from the hospital. I report for surgery at 5:15 am. Excited and nervous
  7. Only 2 more days on the pre-op diet. Yeah!!!
  8. I am on day 9 with 5 more days to go. The first days were hard, especially since I was at a workshop and surrounded by food all day. Now it is not so bad. I don't think it could make it without my broth dinner. It makes a change from the sweet shakes. Being tired is normal I think. I am slower at work and I can't wait to go to bed. The end result is worth it though.
  9. Started on my pre-op diet on 1/23 and have been at a workshop the last 3 days and had to suffer through looking at 2tables of food for the whole time but I can say I did not touch the candy or cookies at all. I did have a hard boiled egg and a piece if cheese though.
  10. I take mine then have a cup of tea everyday, so no worries. Hope you feel better.
  11. Hi my name is Sharon and I finally admit it.... I am an addict without a thyroid. Double whammy! I used to be one of those people that said "I don't eat much so why am I fat". Yes I don't eat as much as everyone else at 1 meal, but since I have been on this journey I have realized it is the in between that is my problem. I didn't realize how much I snack until I couldn't do it anymore. This has been an eye opening experience so far with more to come.
  12. February is going to be a great month, congratulations everyone.
  13. Congratulations everyone! Our day will be here before we know it.
  14. Contact your tricare office and they will be able to answer your questions correctly. I am using tori care as we'll and I am getting sleeved on February 6 and since I am voles to a military facility I have to have it there, which is ok because he comes highly recommended and he's nice. Good luck.
  15. Mauigirl5555 I feel the same way. I don't think I will fail at this because this is an extra toll I have not had before, but I know it will be hard. I will have to find other ways to deal with temptations, especially when people bring in goodies to work. I was just thinking that in 2 weeks I will have to start my liquid diet. Oh man is that going to be tough. At least with my husband and daughter on "diets" there won't be any temptations in the house. We can do thus!
  16. February 6 for me in hampton virginia. Can't wait!
  17. You look wonderful! Way to go.
  18. My pre-op diet is 5 shakes ( I can sub a broth for one shake) and water. I was given a list of the shakes to try and so far the slim fast protein is the one I like best. I get mine from Amazon. I am going to try the unjury unflavored and see what it is like in my broth.
  19. I'm scheduled for 6 February also with Dr. Mann at Portsmouth navel hospital in Norfolk va. It will come faster than we think (I hope).
  20. You look wonderful! Congrats on your weight loss.
  21. Well I finally got my date. I get sleeved on February 6, 2014! It's starting to become real instead of some abstract idea. I am so full of different emotions that I am having trouble expressing myself. I don't think I would have been able to come this far without this forum and everyone on it. Thanks for the honesty, support, and especially the humor.
  22. Beautiful! Way to go.
  23. Yeah, it took me two days to figure this out. I was going through withdrawals. Lol
