- Cottage cheese....?
Maybe try it with a tablespoon of Polaner Fruit Spread... I used pineapple, strawberry and apricot... Delish!- How is everyone?
The liquid diet pre-op sucks but I promise you it will help you with your first 2 weeks post-op... Practice sipping things... It sounds silly but we humans are always in a hurry and tend to gulp things down... Also don't use a straw... Unjury makes a great unflavored protein powder as well as a chicken soup flavored one... They have helped me because all if those sweet drinks get to be too much after a while...- Fitbit
Can anyone give me information about the fitbit? I've been seeing it in a lot of folk's MyFitness Pal diaries... What does it do for you? Is it worth the price, etc... Thanks!- How is everyone?
- How is everyone?
Hello all! Tomorrow will be the end of week 3 for me and I can't believe how it's flown by... Just wanted to see how everyone is making out on their journey... Also if you have the my fitness pal app - friend request me.... I want to give and get as much support as I can on this ride... It would be amazing if some of that support came from other gay men and women that have had or are having similar experiences or struggles! Take care of yourselves y'all! David- Gas Gas and more Gas!
I had horrible gas cramps 4 days post op and GasX has been a savior... I take it after every meal and have had little to no problems since... As far as constipation - I was told 200 mg of Colace a day and if that doesn't work add one dose (2 if necessary) of Miralax for 3 days... It has worked pretty well for me... There are lots of people that use milk of magnesia on here and swear by it! Good luck!- 7 days post op and no biwel movement
I literally spoke to my doc about this last week. He said if it's 7 days or more you should definitely contact your doctor to at least listen to your stomach sounds... I was able to go after 4 days... He told me to take 200 mg of Colace a day and one dose of Miralax a day but only take the Miralax for 3 days... That worked for me... Milk of Magnesia seems to work for lots of folks on here!- Back to Work
Okay today was my first day back to work and my body is hating me... I have a desk job but my seat is low and my left side feels like muscles are pulling when I walk... I'm being very careful not to lift, etc... I still think to work an 8 hour shift after not working for a full 2 weeks my body is rebelling! I hope it gets better every day! Oy!- The indignities of being obese
I am tired of being alone and not feeling worthy of being loved... It's tough for anyone but in the gay community we are particularly critical of each other... I am tired of constant stomach or IBS issues... I know it's tough road but I'm looking forward to see where it leads... I also can't wait to shop in a "normal" department store!- 8 Week Post-Op Progress (With Pic)

- Depression 5 days post op
Depression after large changes in your life I think is normal... When I first had my lap band surgery (I just converted to the sleeve on Sept 11th) I was incredibly depressed and questioned my decision... I've had friends who have had this surgery that have experienced the depression... The biggest thing is to busy your mind with anything you REALLY enjoy doing and get as active as you can... I take a 20 min walk.. That's as much as I can take before I get too sore... It will pass eventually but you have to work at it...- Not filling full and other probs
I was sleeved Sept. 11th... You really need to get at least 64 oz of fluid in you a day so that you don't dehydrate... It sounded really daunting to me at first too but if you constantly sip, before you know it - you will be done... Also the gurgling for the entire first 7-10 days is probably the fluids the pump into you as well as the gas they fill your stomach with... They told me that it's good to hear the rumbling in the hospital because it means things are working... I had horrible gas pains the first day home from the hospital... My doc recommended GasX and it worked... I take two every time I eat and have had little issue with gas...- selfie update
Wow that's something to aspire to! Damn boy! Congrats to you... Here's hoping I can look half as good at 44 yrs of age... ????????- About to revise! Advice pls!
- Pain on left side
I posted something similar earlier today... My left side is sore but my right doesn't hurt at all... Trying to sleep has been difficult on the side... Some days are better than others right now... I have faith it will get better since we all seem to be having this problem...- sleeved 9/23
I'm a belly sleeper so it's been difficult... I have bone spurs in my back which press on my sciatic nerve so sleeping on my back isn't comfortable most of the time on my mattress... I can do if in my recliner... That's where I have been sleeping... Last night I tried my bed but had nerve "pain" in my upper thigh so back to the recliner I went... I'm still trying to figure it out... I was sleeved on 9/11!- Soreness?
I am about 16 days post op and have soreness on my left side.. Also sleeping on my sides has not been uncomfortable... Has anyone/is anyone else having this issue(s)? I know my body is still healing but it's annoying!- New here and have a few questions.
I was 420 lbs when I started on the band... I got down to 270lbs which was great but I was still 80-90 lbs overweight and couldn't lose any more... I maintained the 270 (+\- a few) for 3 years... I was tired of having a foreign substance in my body and just wanted it out... I am convinced that the silicone in the band was poisoning my body... I know it wasn't filled with silicone but the band itself is made of silicone... At any rate, I started doing research and a friend if mine had actually converted from a band to the sleeve and raved about it... Of course I was terrified to go back under the knife... I was crying in the hospital before surgery... I was very scared! I'm just tired of being overweight and my surgeon, nutritionist and I determined I needed some tool to help me get it off... I have a very slow digestive track and the sleeve helps with that... I didn't want the bypass because of all of the other issues that come with it... The sleeve is an evasive surgery but still less evasive than the bypass... So far I am happy with my decision! Continue to research and get other opinions.. I would NEVER recommend the band again after going through what I did and I was a huge fan in the beginning... I wish you all the best and if you have any questions I can try to answer them for you...- Daily Miralax
I'm going through something very similar... My doc told me only to take Miralax for 3 days though and then stop... I went today but not much... Someone else on here recommended Smooth Move which is a natural tea... They said it works very well... I have yet to try it because I just stopped the Miralax... I also take 200 mg of Colace a day still... I also take GasX daily to prevent gas pressure and bloating... It seems to be a common problem until you are a regular diet for a while... I'm only 16 days out... Good luck!- New here and have a few questions.
