Caffeine addict
Coffee is a diuretic. It makes most people go to the restroom. Sleevers already have difficulty getting their liquids in the first bit after surgery, so the Dr doesn't want anything else that can aid dehydration. This is one reason coffee is a no-no right after the sleeve.

surgery on October 23rd
Wow! You're the same age as I am and your story sounds so much like mine. I was in a fall on ice and hit the curb. I wasn't paralyzed but used a walker for a year. Because I was sedentary I gained a lot of weight fast. I thought about going to Mexico but found out Medicare does the sleeve and it took like 3 days got approval. Good luck and best wishes. April

GERD - Indigestion, Reflux, Lumps in Throat/Chest. Exposition of Symptoms and Treatment.
Classic symptom of GERD. I have it, have had it for years and the only reason my surgeon is allowing me to continue on with having the sleeve is because it's been controlled by protonix twice daily for over six months. Being propped when sleeping really does help, but I'm a tummy sleeper, so my daily ppi was doubled. I tried omeprezole but it didn't work for me. Also, I wasn't to take any other acid reducer like tums or liquid mylanta, as my doctor said it makes my protonix less effective. Good luck, I know how scary and painful it is. April

Deyhytrated and hunger at night.
A ppi is an acid reducer, as I was referring to. And I agree, you should definitely see your doctor to try and rule out diabetes. I'd call and make an appointment today.

Deyhytrated and hunger at night.
Yes. Many sleevers mistake acid for hunger. Your doctor should be able to prescribe protonix but you can get omeprezole over the counter. It will make a world of difference. I've been through this with both my sister and my best friend. Totally cut those hunger pangs and lessened the grumblings from their tummies.

Yup. It's normal. This is a life-changing step with no "rewind" button. Just breathe and remember why you need to take this step and what happens if you don't. You'll get through this.- Deyhytrated and hunger at night.
You need protonix or omeprezole daily. It's an acid reducer that will diminish the hunger.- I must look like a creeper, stalker girl
Wth! I had no idea you could see me stalking you all. I seriously need to peruse the site a little more... As I try and go see who last stalked me.- Worst diet ever?
The HcG diet. I starved myself for a week on that diet and actually fainted at my sister's house. It was awful. And scary- Almost 4 months and down 92 lbs
Took me a while to respond because I had to pick my jaw up off the floor... Your loss is utterly amazing! Congratulations!!!- Pics of my husband 2 months out
Wowza!!!! Great job. Maybe I'll lose like a man. Lol- Finally!
