  1. I felt the need to post because this thread you started is crazy sauce! Maybe when you have a degree in nutrition, specializing in bariatric patients, THEN you can post a "HOW TO" guide.
  2. I guess your next post will be for alcoholics just to swish the liquor around in their mouths then spit it out. WTF man???
  3. My requirements were submitted today. Just waiting on that call from my bariatric center. Sort of nervous and excited.
  4. I haven't even had my surgery yet and I have to take protonix (others didn't work for me) twice daily for GERD.
  5. Sorry if too much info, i know that was sort of gross. April
  6. I have had it since my gall bladder was removed in 08. It's like I literally get a little light headed and start sweating. Then there is a painful churning in my stomach and I have to go RIGHT THEN. While I'm actually going to the restroom my sweating and churning continue, as does my pain. For me it can even happen in the middle of a meal. Sometimes it will take several trips to the restroom until only orange or yellow acidic bile is coming out due to no gall bladder. Heavy creamy foods like Alfredo sauce, acidic foods like tomato based marinara, any fried foods, lettuce... My Protein shakes ... Really too many foods to name. This has been such a problem and my surgeon said if I follow the rules with my sleeve and eat dense Proteins first, maybe it will slow down or stop it.
  7. Like a brick shithouse... I laughed so damn hard!!!
  8. That waiting list is crazy!! People will just develop more obesity-related illnesses during that time.
  9. Instead of fundiplication, they use mesh to tighten up the opening of where the diaphragm is, after pulling your stomach back. Where your stomach has prolapsed through. Then perform the sleeve during the same operation. Maybe that isn't common practice where you live, but it is in the US.
  10. Mine will be 2 weeks liquids that must go through a strainer. 3 weeks puréed that must literally be baby food consistency 3 weeks mushy/soft foods Regular foods as tolerated.
  11. I'm not allowed any fruit or juice or natural sweeteners such as honey, sugar, etc.
  12. There are many, many people that have a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time as they get their sleeve operation. It's fairly common.
  13. Have you already had any appointments like your nut appointments or psych appointments? Find a bariatric center that does accept your insurance and explain the situation.
  14. I read all of the regrets. The "what I wish I'd known". The graduation of diet. I want to be as informed as I can before my surgery in February.
  15. I literally felt like I was skewered with a sword all the way through. All I could do was cry
  16. Wow, normally if anything, they extend u another month. Just try not to stress and have a positive attitude. U can do this.
  17. Heck, I'm bipolar and they approved me. She just made sure I've been stable and on my meds for at least a year and that I had a support person when/if needed. Asked for a letter from my regular psych stating diagnosis, if I'm stable and if we planned on continuing our sessions. It was more of a rap session and us discussing my expectations more than anything.
  18. I was told skim milk, almond milk or water.
  19. Thank you, I will. I've been dealing with this so long. It has almost become a joke between my friends and I.
  20. I just thought "I can't wait til my butt fits on the toilet seat".... Made me laugh so hard!!!
  21. I wondered about the gall bladder thing. I had mine removed in '08 and have had horrible dumping syndrome since. I was told it could clear up, but it looks like it could stay the same as well.
  22. Thank you, Merry Christmas to you too!!
  23. Thank you!! Merry Christmas to you as well!!
  24. Lots of luck!!! This is a great way to kick off 2014 and get the new you:) April
  25. Keep in mind some hospitals won't allow Chapstick Bc it has glycerine in it. Be sure and bring blistex brand. No glycerine
