  1. No gallbladder here and I'm like that all the time. I don't start my pre-op diet until the 4th but I know that my protein shakes give me diarrhea anyway. I've tried all kinds. A lady on here recommended questran. It's a powder you mix into liquid and drink. By Rx only
  2. Sarah, I'm gonna let u know as soon as I can after I wake up how AWESOME I feel. Even if I don't feel so awesome. Lol
  3. I just ordered Bariatric fusion all-in-one chewables. Haven't received them yet but a lot of people recommend them. April
  4. Awesome!!! I'm hoping I have the same outcome. I know that I'm already more hopeful about the future and excited about the possibilities. April
  5. i am bipolar and suffer from anxiety. I think if we have support well be ok. I liked my support group meeting a lot. I ordered bariatric fusion vitamins. Haven't received them yet Bc I just ordered them. They at a twice a day all-in-one chewable.
  6. Other than different BMI's dictating, I think it's just a surgeons personal preference. Some like to really only have you do liquids, while some have you also eat protein n veggies, others have nothing but maybe a 3-day or 24 hour liquids. And everything in between. I think some have their personal "gold standard" and if it works for them they stick with it. Of course, this is just a personal opinion.
  7. Bariatric fusion all-in-one is what I just ordered. Was 23 bucks for a month and a half supply.
  8. I like that. Equal opportunity lover!!!!

  12. I tried to give my 17 year old daughter the barest of facts and she researched, YouTube'd, watched My 600 Pound Life... Then told me she'd researched herself. She was proud of my decision and not to let what anyone's says bother me. (In a nutshell) So I'm gonna say go with your heart on this one. I feel like I should've offered more info to my daughter and spoke to her about it more, but she's 17. Personally, if I had a 7 yr old I wouldn't go into too much detail because I wouldn't want to scare them, but I'd probably tell him that things were gonna be different. That we were going to be changing what we do and how we eat in order to stay healthy. And probably leave it at that. I know others go into greater detail but I'm not one to do that with a really young child.
  13. Well you'll find the new you and figure it out. You just have to stay upbeat and positive. Instead of being the fat friend, you're gonna be the friend. And if others in your circle are shitty about it, then they aren't true to your friendship. Period. You shouldn't have to earn your place in a friendship that already exists. Hang in there and take it one day at a time. Get to know what the new you wants out of friendship and go from there. April
  14. I'm 5'7" and started at 301. It actually shocked me that I weighed that much when I saw it. I'm now 283 and will surely lose more on my pre-op diet before my actual day of surgery, which is Feb 18th. I'm not at all scared I won't lose the weight. I'm in it to win it. I know it'll be hard. The hardest thing I'll probably ever do, but this tool is going to give me my life back and I plan on living it to the fullest. At goal. April
  15. I swear that's how we lose the weight. Diarrhea!!!
  16. Yummy!!! Sounds very interesting. I'll have to try that. We made pizza with cauliflower crust and it was delish.
  17. That stinks. You hear so much about people not wanting anything at all and then the flip side where they crave and are hungry. It's a crap shoot.
  18. Geez. I guess I need to get cable. Lol
  19. You're welcome!! Well that's definitely an excellent goal. I'd love to be able to keep up with my 17yo. She's bursting with energy. She's waiting til my 6 week post op to teach me biginners yoga. Uh oh. Lol
  20. Very inspiring. You look great and your story makes me want to get this surgery over with and me started on my new life!!! April
  21. Wow, what a happy birthday indeed!!!!
  22. I have a thread called "making me cry" on here about my 17yo daughter watching the Melissa episode. I hadn't really shared my wls much with my daughter but she went on her own and watched YouTube videos and read up on it. Anyway, she told me about the Melissa episode. That her family saw her walk unassisted for the first time and it made them cry. And her. She then told me she was so proud of my wls decision and not to worry about what other ppl say or think. She was like "if Melissa can do this so can you. You got this". It really opened my eyes about not only sharing more with her, but that she saw something in this lady that reminded her of me. I can't wait to watch it. April
  23. What I've read is that when you're heavier you moved and walked differently. Different areas of pressure on your joints. After weight loss your gait is different, you're changing the ways your joints move. So in a way, yes, you're discombobulated. Lol. You'll find your new normal and work everything out and the pain should go away.
