  1. Me too. If it's early it means I won't be dwelling on it half the day. It's a 3 hr drive for me
  2. I've heard nothing but good about dr Alverez! You're gonna do grrreat!!!!
  3. I'm on the same diet but I add protein powder to everything I can. Puddings and yogurts. If you'll keep the carbs super low and the protein high they'll go away. Also there is a difference in feeling "hungry" and feeling "empty". We are used to always feeling full. Right now we are more empty than hungry. Hang in there. You have lots of others going through the same thing.
  4. Awesome!!! Glad you're here for support! Lots of support and advice to help us along on these boards
  5. Mine will call Friday, too, with the time. Usually it's the day before, but since Monday is a holiday it'll be Friday.
  6. Should be. But you can mix it with water if you must. Or almond milk, coconut milk or skim milk to keep calories at a minimum.
  7. I was more excited than nervous Bc I knew this was leading up to the new me. Also, if I'm not compliant with a 2 week diet, how can I be compliant with an entire lifestyle change? You can do this. Sure, it sucks. It's no fun. But it is doable.
  8. After the first 2 days I was fine. I am starting day 6 today and since I'm getting over 100g protein n less than 30 carbs I have no real hunger. Only the hunger that's in my brain thinking about fast foods and high carb foods. But that's easy to beat if you stick your mind to it.
  9. Problem is, you don't know how someone is going to take what you say. Just because somebody doesn't think something is offensive doesn't mean that it isn't. Before we post we need to stop and really think before hitting that SEND button. I'd be highly offended if someone said that to me.
  10. Yeah. It really isn't anything for someone on an "acquaintance" level to say. I was a bit shocked, but apparently lots of ppl on here say things that offend others
  11. Yeah. Once the pre-op diet starts you should not have any food funerals
  12. I'm the same and I'm not hungry at all. My protein has been over 100g a day and my carbs below 30. I'm in ketosis and burning fat like crazy.
  13. Try bariatric fusion all-in-one that you only take 3x a day.
  14. I had them and I'm glad I did. You're gonna read from ppl who had them and those who will say "don't do it Bc you will be able to eat your favorite foods in small quantities again". I plan to NOT eat those foods again. Ever. So I had mine, am on my pre-op diet and doing great.
  15. Y'all are literally making me shiver just thinking about it. I'm supposed to move north in a year and a half and so many people start to freeze their butts off after losing weight. I'll be wearing sexy flannel pj's and long johns to bed
  16. Remember when I was griping to u about how cold it was here.... Then I remembered where you live. Yeah, not funny
  17. SuperFab posted a topic in The Lounge
Because The Walking Dead starts tomorrow...
  18. You're quite welcome, Glitter!! SJ I'm super proud of you!!! Jencovi, you made good choices and this really is a hard thing to do. Hang in there. Like SJ said, at least you made good choices, if Buffy's Cupcakes would've been open I might've actually caved.
  19. Ok, my hospital list: Stuffed bear or small firm pillow for pressure when getting up or down, coughing, and my ride home. (I have a 3hr ride home) I was told to put a bright pillowcase on it instead of white so it won't get confused with hospital linens or forgotten. Blistex. Some hospitals don't allow Chapstick due to the glycerine in it, but blistex is allowed. Phone charger attached to a small extension cord. Panties. They let my sister wear them after surgery and she felt less exposed in them when male nurses were checking her incisions, etc plus you can tuck your drain into them while your up and about if you have a drain. Toothpaste and toothbrush Deodorant Hairbrush I plan on wearing the same clothes and flip flops home as I wear to the hospital. Gas x strips Lotion. I remember my sister's hands were so dry and she was always asking for my lotion. List of ppl to contact n tell them I made it out of surgery in case I'm too out of it. My bf is out of state and will be wondering how I am. My kids will be worrying too. Tweezers. You never know when ur gonna need to pluck or tweeze Medical binder of info Socks Change for vending machine CPAP
  20. I'm not sure. I use the phone app. I'll post it here.
  21. I sent u a list in a private message
  22. I didn't have to take that test. We just went over my psych history, which was a regular questionnaire that any doc might have you fill out and then talked for about an hour about my psych history, my bipolar disorder and my expectations, etc.
