Hi Everyone! I usually don't do much topic starting, but I thought I would share. One of the things I wondered about pre-sleeve is if I was going to be successful. I was the world's WORST dieter. I was even worse with sticking to anything long term. The sleeve has changed my life 100% for the better. Granted, there have been some adjustments that have to be made (like new allergic reactions to foods etc), but I wouldn't change this. I was walking in the mall last weekend and walked by Victoria's Secret. I have never purchased any bras (or anything matter of fact) from in there, my chest was just too big. I thought, what the heck, lemme check it out. I need new bras anyway (semi-annual sale, extra 25% COME ON!!). Let me start by saying I was a 42DD (even a 42DD at times this time last year), so I was a little apprehensive. I still think of myself as big (that still is taking some time to adjust to). I walked out of the store with a 34DDD and a 36DD, And they were sexy bras (too bad I am the only one that sees them lol)! I skipped all the way to the car! Woohoo!! I finally cut up my Torrid credit card (plus size store), and paid off the bill. Victoria's Secret here I come! I've gone from a tight 20, to a size 8/10, size medium/large shirts. The only thing that hasn't changed are my feet.....still an 11, but now I don't have to get wide width calves!
I never thought I would have this opportunity!
Thanks for reading, and have a FABULOUS day!

FitnFabfor2014 got a reaction from trulyamazingtoo in Anyone throw up after a protein shake?
Hi, below are a few ideas to spice up your Protein shakes if your diet allows. I can no longer drink the shakes straight up so I had to research other options. Hope you feel better soon. Post-Bariatric Diet: SOOTHING smoothies
During your first four weeks following surgery, you will need to adhere to a diet beginning with liquids only and progressing to soft pureed foods. Higher than average Protein intakes are necessary in the bariatric patient. Using whey Protein powder in smoothies, hot cereals and Soups will help to ensure your protein intake is adequate. The following are some ideas to give your meals variety. The equipment you will need is a blender, magic bullet, or food processor.
    GENERAL GUIDELINES:
Add at least one item from each category to create your smoothie. To the Protein Powder, add a fruit, protein base, spice, sweetener and Fiber. Process the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Realize these recipes will yield about 10 ounces per serving. Slowly sip the amount you can ingest, usually about 4 ounces at a time. Cover and refrigerate the unused smoothie, stir and enjoy the remainder within 24 hours.
    THE INGREDIENTS:
WHEY PROTIEN POWDER: Add one serving of your protein powder.< /span>
    THE FRUIT:
You can blend any fruit into the smoothie, fresh, sugar free frozen, or canned fruit packed in its own juice. Use about ½ cup. Frozen fruit makes a thick smooth drink. When using fresh or canned fruit, add a few ice cubes.
    THE PROTEIN BASE:
To this add 8 ounces of skim milk or soy milk (Soy slender or Continent 8). To boost the protein, add one of the following: 1/3 cup skim milk powder, 6 ounces of sugar free / fat free yogurt, ½ cup of cottage cheese or ricotta cheese, 1/3 cup of silken tofu, or two tablespoons of smooth nut butter.
    THE SPICE:
You can add just about any spice that your taste buds want. Some ideas include cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, cardamom, fennel, parsley. Start with 1/8 teaspoon and add more to intensify the flavor.
    THE SWEET:
If you need to, add Splenda or Nutrasweet.
    THE FIBER:
Since Constipation is problematic adding a Fiber supplement is recommended. One to two servings of Benefiber or Flaxseed meal can be put into your shake twice per day.
The combinations are endless, so get creative and be sure to try the combinations you like. The following are some of our favorites:
In a blender, add the ingredients and process until smooth. Remember to add the Benefiber. Sip slowly, take your time and enjoy.
    JUST PEACHY
One scoop of protein powder, ½ cup frozen peaches, 6 oz of vanilla yogurt, 8 ounces of vanilla soy milk, 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon
    VERY berry
One scoop of protein powder, ½ cup frozen berry blend, ¼ cup cottage cheese, 8 ounces of milk, 1/8 teaspoon of nutmeg
    HAWAIIAN DREAM
One scoop of protein powder, ½ cup crushed pineapple, 1/3 cup tofu, one cup of milk, 1/8 teaspoon of ginger, add a few ice cubes.
    CREAMY pumpkin
One scoop of protein powder, ¼ cup canned pumpkin puree, one cup of milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar free maple Syrup, ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon and a few ice cubes.
    ORANGE CARROT BLEND
One scoop of protein powder, one half of an orange, one small jar of baby carrots, 6 ounces of vanilla yogurt, 6 ounces of milk, ½ teaspoon of vanilla and a few ice cubes.
    Peanut Butter banana
One scoop of protein powder, one cup of chocolate soy milk, ½ banana, two tablespoons of Peanut Butter and a few ice cubes.
Adding your protein powder to creamy Soups and hot cereals is just as easy. Puree soups and add whey protein, then gently heat. Stir protein powder into hot cereals.

Well 4 weeks ago my sister and I was in the mall and I saw Victoria Secret was having a sale and I decided to go and see what I can get. I was able to get large panties and my bra size was a 40 D. I could not believe it. thank God

My Dr. said early on I should have a BMI of 25 and under. So for me 150-155lbs. I told myself my goal would be 160 first and then go from there. The thing is (and I'm sure you're heard this a million times), everyone's body is so different (body type, size etc). I love that I lost all the weight, plus some, but I am 100% happy at where my weight is now. I'm am currently hoping to tone, and maintain. I'm fine with no more weight loss, and my Dr. said I could stop loosing if I was comfortable with where I was with my weight. I just would look anorexic if I was in a size 5/6 (currently I am a 8/10). That's just me, I just don't have the body type to be super thin. Some people look great, I look like a bobble head.

Hello all! I had the Gastric Sleeve on January 20, 2015. I've already experienced the famous stall and was about as frustrated as most of you. I have appreciated all of the posts and information I've found here. You all have helped me tremendously! So, I'm not someone who posts alot, not even on my Facebook, but just really felt the need to share a bit. I'm 44, been overweight since I was 22 (after birth of my son) and finally just had it. I was able take a leave from work and finally do this! Best decision ever! So, stats. .hw recorded 258 in August 2014..sw 230, currently 217.7. 19 days out...not bad. ..looking forward to a healthier, happier me! Good luck everyone.
*wanted to add I'm only 5ft tall ????

    Hi @@Jazmundo
Try to think out things one at a time. I found myself getting overwhelmed trying to get fluids, Protein, walk, and deal with everyday life. I found that if I slowed down and tackled the most important (Water, fluids & rest early on), it was a little bearable. It's a major change, and does a serious head trip on you.
Don't worry so much about the Vitamins, Protein right now. Try drinking room temp, or warm liquids to start. When your comfortable try to incorporate protein. It's difficult in the beginning, I had buyers remorse too, but pretty soon you will be loving the new you even more than the previous you! Nothing says "I've made it", by getting on the scale and seeing you've lost the equivalent of a small human (I lost a 100lb human lol).
Good luck! You can do it!

For me no bun, no burger (I can't eat bread anymore it makes me nauseous, great part of the sleeve). There is no want to eat burgers for me. I have tried fries, I can only eat a few (a quarter max of small fries). No shake. It will make me sick from all the sugar. My tastes have changed 100%. I'm not by any means saying I stick 100% to my program, but I have given up a lot for my new sleeve life. I must say something about McDonald's fries always sound good....in theory, until I get one in and my stomach says NOPE.
