Some places let you order a la carte. So when we go to steakhouses and stuff I'll usually get a cup of Soup and a shrimp skewer or something. Most places are pretty understanding.

I take the GNC women's ultra mega. It has everything my old Bariatric Advantage chewables had and then some. I hated the chewies though. I would get sick to my stomach every time.

Ugh I had the same issue with BA. I ended up going to GNC and getting their daily Multivitamin. It has all the same stuff. It's a quick release capsule, I take two in the am and two at night. Now I'm better.

My surgery was Sept. 23rd. Highest weight: 347 Day of surgery: 341 One week after: 309!!!!! Today (10/12/13): 300 even 47 lbs down. My doc said it wasn't normal but very encouraging. He did however give me the side hahaha. He says I am doing good and that I have nothing to worry about. Sent from my iPhone using VSTThat's amazing!!! Congratulations!!

im having a real hard time with my Vitamins also. i'm taking the berrilife bariatric chewables and they make me super nauseated' date=' sometimes vomiting. i'm 2 weeks post op and have not been able to take both of my Vitamins like i'm supposed to.[/quote']I hate chewables!!! I had the same problem. I was taking the Bariatric Advantage vitamins but I took them in to GNC and their Multivitamin has all that and more. And they're capsules. So I got those instead and now I'm fine.

What is a Mexican coke? I'm pre-sleeve' date=' so I can't really chime in here on the popcorn issue. I will say I've read studies about the psychology of obese people, and one thing we all seem to have in common ( at least, at some point in the journey) is an all-or-nothing mentality. My view is that we have to be responsible for ourselves--and not for everyone else--and aiming for moderation is probably a good goal, just from a mental health standpoint. Okay, enough. What's a Mexican coke again? [/quote']Lol!! Coke In a bottle. From Mexico. Has a slightly different taste. A better taste. Ohhhhhh Kay I don't wanna talk about soda. Lol

No way Jose! My cousin had it. He was about 500 pounds. Only lost about one fifty, started eating crazy again, and now he's back close to his starting weight. Not to mention he had sooooo many complications.

thank you Hun. Your right it is a balance that I've found. No way I'm gonna fall back into my old habits. I love the new me. I love being able to shop and by the type of clothes I want to wear. I love being able to walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like I'm going to pass out' date=' most importantly I love my chances of seeing my children's children graduate college. Thank u again. Your one of the good ones. Good luck on your journey sleeve friend.[/quote']You're so welcome! And thank you! One month down, a lifetime to go. What you just described literally was like taking the words out of my mouth. I want all of those things. I'm taking my son to disneyworld for the first time in March, and I can't tell you how happy I am that I won't be as heavy as I was. I actually look forward to our trip and making memories with him. I want him to see his mama being active and enjoying myself with him.

Remember 1 pound lost is 1 pound less then what you had previous and 1 pound closer to your goal! Good Day people.Whoa!! Looking great!!

I'm sorry but I don't you' date=' but I don't like u. It's like you think you know everything. Like because I eat popcorn every once in a while your mad at me or something. It's like your almost wishing that I fail. I'm sorry buddy I've changed my lifestyle for me and my children no one else. I won't lose. Even though you hope I will. Still and all have a great day and I wish you the best in your journey.[/quote']Congratulations on your weight loss. I'm glad you've found a good balance between diet and exercise, and occasionally treating yourself. You look great, I'm sure you feel great, and you're getting a second chance to physically be able to be there for your children. My son was my main reason for this surgery and I applaud you for all the progress you've made.

Yeah I'm going to get crap for this' date=' but this is why I don't like this site. Judgmental and controlling people. Listen, I'm about to lay some truth on you. You got fat for a reason. You had an unhealthy relationship to food. And guess what, it is EQUALLY unhealthy to be afraid of food. An indulgence is just that, an indulgence. It is not an every day thing. It is allowing yourself the pleasure of ENJOYING your life!! If you don't, then why bother getting VSG in the first place? So that you can be thin and miserable. Ok, you go ahead, but I am going to be happy and eat some popcorn once in a blue moon... Omg and maybe some pizza *gasp* I'm sure you will get over it, and if you don't, I won't think of you while I am thin, happy, and healthy and you are angrily scrolling through forums looking for someone to dump on. There's your not so nice truth from an extremely nice person who has seen quite enough of this bullying. Have a blessed day![/quote']Thank you for this. I can't tell you how many times I rolled my eyes reading these posts.

Oh how I miss my salads! I doubt I'll ever be able to eat them quite like I used to(red cabbage' date=' spinach, carrots, cauliflower, croutons, light dressing) but even a small basic salad would make me so happy. I had a green bean for the first time last night, and it was soooo delicious <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I hope my taste buds didn't screw up their taste for the rest of my fave veggies. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']My taste buds didn't change. Except maybe for sweets. I got used to the sugar free taste. And I've had all that on my salad minus cauliflower and croutons.

I just got put on soft foods today. I've been on soft foods for over a week though :x Im eating a LOT of eggs and tuna fish salad' date=' I had the leg off a Rotisserie chicken the other day. It was phenomenal. Even if I did chew it until it was almost liquid lol I am allowed iceberg lettuce and toast next week, and THAT makes me happy lol Tomorrow I'll probably have an Oatmeal w/milk flakes and liquid milk, then some egg salad for lunch (~1/2c.) and Im thinking croc pot BBQ chicken for dinner and a Protein bar eaten throughout the day.[/quote']The first salad I had was heavenly. Easy on my tummy too. Makes me full but not uncomfortable.

I skipped pureed entirely. I'm 3 weeks out tomorrow. I'm eating real food cooked thoroughly and that can be well chewed. I take it slow and as soon as I feel full' date=' I stop. Consequently, I'm eating 5 small meals a day. Feel much better for it, too.[/quote']I also skipped puréed. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was starting to worry. Lol
-
5 weeks outOh okay! So we're like a week apart. I know the week before my cycle was awful. I felt extra heavy and super bloated. I could see it in my feet and face and everything. I KNOW I wasn't losing then. I hope it's not like that every month
-
I'm pretty crazy right now...it hasn't moved in a week or more!! I'm TRYING to think "it's only a stall" but it's sooo hard!<img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />How far along are you?
-
Looking good!!! And you have a much stronger will than me! I try not to weigh...doesn't happen oftenThanks!! Lol ummm it also helps that I don't have a scale nor do I plan on getting one soon. I just know in the beginning the weight is up and down and I don't want to get all crazy obsessed.

Today marks one month that I gave myself a second chance at a normal life I'm so excited for this coming year. But for now, I'm thankful for the little changes I feel and see in my body. I haven't weighed myself since my post op appointment and I refuse to until I go back on the 22nd. 10 days after surgery I was down 20 pounds. So I don't know where I'm at now but I'm excited to find out!!
