Wow, great minds think alike. I love Red Lobster too... was there last week. My DH prefers sushi (which I love too), but my mom was from Newfoundland, so lobster is in my blood!!!! Jeanie & Sunny, we'll have to meet at a Red Lobster some day!

Happy Birthday to your daughter, Jeanie!!! Can I ask a stupid question? Is the drinking age 21 where you are? Is that why you're a bit on edge? Our drinking age is 19.

I've gone to get laser hair removal on my upper lip and chin. The doctor at the clinic is so beautiful, I suddenly find myself looking for more hair that needs removal !!!! He's new to Canada, from Czechslovacia (spelling off), so his English is hard to follow. I DON'T CARE... He could be telling me anything... doesn't matter, just talk and let me look at you!!!

I love the computer pop up idea. I always forget too, and live by my computer agenda... so this would help.

Chimboree, rant on. I hate it when our friends try to protect us and show concern, but only end up pissing us off! It was very insensitive of your friend. I'm sure at some point down the road, she'll realize her mistake and apologize, and return to being the supportive person you expect.

I have a post surgery question.. What did you buy food wise and medication wise (over the counter stuff) prior to sugery to get you through the first few days? I've bought apple juice, cranberry juice, popsicles, orange juice (no pulp), jello pops, beef broth, chicken broth and veggie broth. But no meds. I'm supposed to be on clear fluids until Sunday and then full fluids after that for 10 days. Any suggestions on what to buy to stock up? I'm going tomorrow after work to shop.

I have to say, I've never been much for online chat groups... that was before this one. I guess it helps that we are all in this together, doing the same thing. I also think that since we are all at the same stage in this process that it has helped bond us. So, I think my best support is here. I can ask questions, share ideas, laugh, and unfortunately cry at times, with all of you. Having said that, I am fortunate. I have a very supportive DH, and my best friend was banded several years ago, so is a great support. My DH will be like most of your's, though. At some point I will see his question mark on what I'm eating. I call it the diet police!

When I got to the daycare tonight to pick up my little angel, I had quite the shock. Just before I got there she fell and hit her mouth. She put her tooth right through her tongue. Blood everywhere. But the little bruiser was sitting happily on the care giver's lap sucking on a popsicle, while blood is pouring out of her mouth. The tongue was completely severerd, so I called my DH who was still at work (at the hospital), and told him to stay there, we were on our way. Long story short... they decided not to stitch it because it would require putting her to sleep, and given her poor lungs (premature birth), that concerned them. They've decided the tongue should heal, although it will have a bump or be a bit mishapen for a few years. The whole time, she was just as content as could be talking with the nurses and doctors, sucking on ice cubes. I love her spirit!!!

Chim: I know just what you mean about feeling like a whale in exercise class. I always think they are looking at me and thinking... “OMG, is she going to have a heart attack”. But what the h@##. Mise well go for it. Congrats. Denise: Go ahead... b@#ch away. You’re right... it is supposed to by your time. I imagine most of us give give give all the time, and when we need something, it can be frustrating when we don’t get the same in return. GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!! Linda: I am so sorry. Whenever a child is lost it hurts so many people. As a mom, I can’t imagin losing one of my kids. They are your entire existance and if they are taken away you can seem to exist without them. My prayers are with you. Bloo: Welcome. I’ve got 3 days to banding! I am so excited. Sorry your man is unsupportive. Not to brag, but mine is amazing. 7 years ago I looked into getting the band, but chickened out. My friend got her’s, and had done amazingly well. He knew I always thought about it, so asked me two months ago if I wanted it, we could find a way to pay for it. So I did!!! Every once in awhile he jokes about me leaving him for a younger man. My reply is usually “why would I want to settle for less than perfect, since I already have perfect!” Sunny: 3 days (less really) to go!!!! Please don’t wait for the results of the band to find yourself a good man. You’re such a wonderful person, I’m sure your match is out there (probably close to home). BTW, I met mine through a blind date. We were set up by our respective co-workers, and it really was love at first sight. We met, married a few months later and then our son came along very quickly after that. We’ve been together 10 years, not all wonderful, but all meaningful and prescious. Jeanie: Sorry I missed you tonight. I’m so glad to hear you feel better now than you have in years. I love the sound of that.

Morning everyone. Sorry I missed yesterday. I was busy setting up the kitchen. OMG it looks amazing!!! It is finished except for the trim, crown moulding, valance and range hood. My brother had to go away until Friday, so he'll be back on the weekend to finish it up. But, I have a functional kitchen and I'm sitting at my kitchen table!!! We ate dinner in here last night for the first time in 2 weeks. Good luck to all on deck today and tomorrow. I'll be out all day. Thanks to everyone who commented on my pictures.

Lucky 7's RECIPES Thread
Here's something for the full Fluid stage onwards... Careful, I make mine spicy! 1 tsp oil 1 large onion, chopped 1 tbsp curry powder 1 tsp cayeene pepper (optional) 1 can lentils or split peas (green, yellow, or red), drained and rinsed 1 large tomato or cherry tomatoes 2-3 cups broth (chicken, beef or vegetable) Heat oil and saute onion until soft. Add spices and cook for about a minute. Add lentils and mix. Pour in enough broth to cover lentils. Add tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes. To puree, use an emersion blender (works best) and blend until really smooth (for your full fluid stage), or your desired consistency. Add more broth if it is too thick. This has lots of Protein and fibre. Play with the spices to create different flavours. I like lots of cumin and corriandre so I add more of those. Enjoy.

Anyone been on ediets.com? I like how this site puts together a fitness plan based on your activity level and needs. It also shows you how to do the "functional exercises" (floor exercises), so you don't have to guess. If you haven't been to this site, check it out. There is a monthly fee to join, but you can check it out without paying. It also gives you a diet based on your requirements. I've chosen the GI diet, as I'm diabetic and would like to follow this style of eating.

Ok, enough people have asked to see my little girl.. so I'll show you. I doubt the birth parents will ever see this, so I guess it's ok. I'm also showing one of me just so you can see how much she looks like me...
