    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Hello fellow Juners! Had my surgery on the 3rd...only pain I had for 2 days were gas pains in my chest and left arm. Felt like I swallowed an Icee down super fast.... Had this for 2 days. Got home and was ok on Thursday....I am getting 3 shakes and 40 oz of liquid in.... No gas, burps but occasional chest pain. This surgery left me with no tummy pain and I'm amazed....can u guys believe that we can get 85 percent of our tummies out and still feel ok? Unfortunately I'm starting to feel hunger...do any of u feeling hungry yet? Surgery day weight was 242 (6/3) and today I'm 233. I'm on counting my weight loss starting from surgery date.....

    What did I do?

I know exactly how u feel....had my surgery on Tuesday and I am now dealing with "buyers remorse". ....my hubby went to sleep earlier and I just had a good cry....but Monique, this is irreversible and we need to put our big girl panties on (while they still fit) lol and deal with it. I am feeling better everyday....still exhausted but we both need to put a positive spin on our decisions...we obviously were unhappy with ourselves prior to this surgery or we would not have put ourselves through this. Just think, by the holidays, we both should be both close to our health goals. Let's set little goals and focus on what we should be doing.....you are not alone but also realize we are going to be depressed coming off the anesthesia and pain Meds ....we will get thru this!

    does sleeve have restriction?

You will definitely feel the restriction! My surgeon's dietician told me that after ALL weight loss surgeries, the stomach capacity is basically the same. As in my post above, you will have to learn your body's new signals. You CAN overeat if you eat too fast and don't pay attention. But if you do, you will feel miserable for hours....and you won't want to do it again! My surgery was last Tuesday ...no pain with the surgery itself BUT unbelievable pain in my chest and left shoulder while I was in hospital. I've had previous abdominal sxs but had always experienced the normal gas in my tummy. This pain was the worst...I walked a lot and now today (Saturday) I am ravenous! I'm able to easily drink 48 oz of Water, without a burp and am able to tolerate anything I eat...shakes, Jello, broth. I went cold turkey on the pain Meds when I left the hospital on Thursday, and have been climbing my stairs without a problem. The only real problem is the pain in my chest when I breathe in deeply...and the fear that I still have the ability to eat like a horse...no gas from tummy or burping whatsoever...I can't believe I'm hungry already... Most of my fellow sleeves tell me they have to force food and water down.....I don't know who is luckier...me or them! At least they still feel restricted......

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

Surgery scheduled for June 4.....I drink water constantly but I was told once I have the surgery I may not be able to unless I add something to it.... They call it water nausea ... A co worker who had his surgery 2 years ago still can't drink water unless he adds something to it. Have u been reading about the hairloss? I think that is what is freaking me out the most....it's not like a woman can shave her head and be considered "hot" like some guys can!!!! Lol!

    Just not interested!

Unhappysleever, I am scheduled for my surgery on June 4 and everything u are saying has been eating away at me everyday as my surgery date creeps up. It scares the hell out of me that I will not be able to control my head hunger and that depression will kick in..Then I take an honest look at myself and realize that I have to do something other than kidding myself that I can lose the weight on my own without major changes in my life....I think this new uncomfortable lifestyle we are facing is difficult because we haven't mastered the routine. This surgery took u out of your comfort zone. It's totally natural to have regrets but it will get easier. Have u set any goals that u can focus on to get u through this?

    Sleep Study question

So were you still able to have your surgery?Hi ....I'm scheduled for June 4 for my sx and I have sleep apnea...I remember in college that I was a size 7 but had serious problems with being really tired in the afternoon...thought I was just tired because I was so busy ... Now I'm dealing with weight and my pcp sent me for a sleep study. Omg after I got used to using my machine, I realized what "normal" people feel like after a good nite of sleep. Made all the difference in the world. I now know I've had apnea even when I was thin. I see that u got a cpap when u got the lap band...did u stop using it?

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

I'm not having trouble with the diet during the day BUT when I get home from work is when the hunger sets in.... A friend of mine who went through the pre op process with me had her surgery on April 18, and she has lost a total of 47 pounds...which includes her pre op weight loss. Pretty amazing huh?

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

Hi Everyone! I live in Southern California will have my surgery on 6/4 as well. I've been going through the approval process/requirements for about 8-9 months...each month I am ready for the surgery but another delay just adds to my fear...I keep telling myself...am I really going through with this? I guess we all have our fears...I originally lost 30 pounds and met the md and was ready to go insurance delays started my anxiety and I even started have "buffet nightmares" with me eating the most delicious food and never getting full.(including the porn music in background...bow chicky wow won..crazy but true.) Also not looking forward to looking like a bald egg once my hair starts dropping in clumps....I can kick myself for gaining and now I plan on doing a 3 shake/day and broth diet until surgery...I have been following a few of my favorite vets who have become my inspiration: lil miss diva, Cowgirl Jane, Lipstick lady, and they are not only beautiful people but have been an inspiration to me....can't wait to get to the other side..sooner the better...
