Before surgery? Was it required? My doc requires 5%.... Which would have been 15... I'm down 24 and I haven't met with him yet... So my hubby and parents keep saying... Maybe you won't have to have the surgery! Anyone else?

Ok so most of u do t know me I'm new here and in the pre op stage I have told only my closer friends and my side of the family. Been w my dr since sept but took my weight in aug and I'm down 25 lbs. I am not telling anyone at work but my manager who talks about EVERYONE. Said to a co worker that I must be having WLS! Honestly that pissed me off. Who is she to talk about me and my weight. I told her I was having female surgery instead of the sleeve because I want to make sure I go thru with it. I do have a substantial hiatal hernia so I'm not lying about surgery. But people r starting to notice and are complimenting me. I am proud of myself that I decided to do WLS. Honestly I know it will be hard but living as a fat person is also very hard... I'm ready for a new hard challenge.

I just called Cigna to see about the wording of at least 6 months... The rep told me it has to be 6 consecutive months... That pushes me 3 more months... Wish it would say consecutive instead of at least. Ugh

I did phase 1 of south beach. Now I still follow it for dinner but do 2 protein shakes during the day and beef jerky. Down 15 in 5 weeks. I'm a slow loser. Good luck.

I had a breath test not a blood test done at my drs office. It was super easy. See if they can do that. I think they give u meds to clear it up. That's all I know. Co

So does anyone know when they say at least 6 months what they really mean?

O I am still in the pre op phase... Looking for a February surgery date... So it's been almost 6 weeks of the south beach diet and I'm down 15lbs and 6 inches!! Woo hoo! So happy for sure. So here's my problem...I am a clothes horse... I love clothes... My mother and grandmother have the same affliction. Lol. So now that I am losing weight and inches my clothes are hanging on me... Don't get me wrong... I'm now where near being thinner... Started at 301 size 24... Now at 287 and getting into 20's or 2x and even some 1 x stuff. I keep thinking of people to give my old clothes to then I get sad. I know some of you have good funerals but I think honestly mine is going to be giving my clothes away. I know it sounds silly they r just clothes but for me they have been my armor. My protector. I am a realtor so I am always dressed up and honestly I always felt better dressed up. And now that I am losing my clothes don't look as nice with the plumber me in them. They are hanging nicely now. Anyone else feel this was? I know... Cry me a river right? ???????????? Thanks!! Co

I think we all have felt that way and that is why we are doing what we are doing. Try not to think about the past. Get a piece of paper and write everything you want to do when you are thinner. That is what I have been doing. Sorta like a check list. This way you are able to check them off that list. Hugs to you! You are not alone!! Xo Co

Once I screamed and yelled an told mine it was purely for health reasons and looking good was a bonus he became more supportive! Good luck. It's common!!
