I made it to the onesies!
I know, I know...shouldn't weigh myself within a week of surgery but just couldn't resist the scale just sitting there... So, this morning I jumped on it and, low and behold, I was at 199!!!! OMG!!! I haven't been under 200 since 2007!!!! I'm am so excited about the future right now I don't know what to do with myself! Except, I still feel kinda crappy and so I guess I'll just watch some football!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

Tomorrow is MY day!
Well, tomorrow morning is the time for me!!! The nerves are starting to set in! I'm nervous, anxious and excited all rolled into one!!! Funny how our emotions vary in just a 24 hour period! I work the grave shift and on Saturday night, my last night for 4 weeks, I was a crybaby!!! Made a mistake and just started crying!!! Then in the morning after work when we all sit down and have coffee I made a stupid mistake on the envelope of a card and started crying again!!! Wow! I sure hope I make it thru the morning without crying. Have to be to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. Surgery is at 7:30. My poor husband, bless his heart, is being so good. I feel so bad because today is his birthday and I wish we could just go have a burger together but it's all liquids for me today!! He just had to settle for a card. Thanks to everyone who through my getting ready has answered questions in the past. I'll still be on here frequently I'm sure with more post-op questions!!! Have a great day and stay warm!!! It's -14 F here as I type with a windchill of I don't know what!!!

clothing dilemma
Thrift stores, thrift stores and more thrift stores!!! They are your best source while you are on your way down the scale!!! They are cheap and can be returned to the store once you need a smaller size!!! Good luck!!!

I need some advice.
Everyone loses at their own pace. It all has to do with how much weight has to be lost, genetics, gender and age, etc. Don't be hard on yourself. Just follow what your NUT says and you will be just fine!!! Good luck!

What my husband says about me & my sleeve
Wow is all I can say...I know my hubby wouldn't write anything. He's a shy introvert, totally opposite me!!! I was heavy when we married almost 22 years ago and have just kept on growing!! I really wish he would do something like this though!!! Congrats on having such a wonderful man and support system!!!! Good luck to you and yours!!!

I'm ready for a laugh or too! How about you?!
Yes I can totally relate!!! We also have a wood stove that cuts the cost of the propane to heat our home!!! Wood is a heck of a lot cheaper than gas!!!! Love the feel of a wood fire!!! Hope you don't get any more ice storms!!! I saw pics of that and it looked awful!!! Have a great New Year!!!

I'm ready for a laugh or too! How about you?!
OMG!! That was hysterical!!! I live in MN and we have been buried in snow early! Now we have been dealing with below zero temps for daytime highs for the last couple of weeks with only a 2 day break!! And we are going to start the new year in subzero temps til the end of the week!!! I've lived here all my life and really don't remember it being this cold for so long!!! YUK!!! Hoping for a January thaw!!! Thanks for the feed though that was really fun to watch!!!

protein shakes :0 (....
Go to Unjury.com. They sell the unflavored and also have flavors. They will also include ideas and the do's and don'ts of what to do with it. Good luck.

No one ever said..i'm worried about how heavy you are getting!
I do know that if my mother were still alive she would have said "you are getting pretty heavy there don't you think??" And she would have asked me how much I weighed. I'm sure she would have been a true supporter of what I am doing and I am sure as well that she is looking down on me saying "WAY TO GO!!!" My husband supports me and with that and the thought of my mother that is all I need to know I am doing what is best for ME!!!

So most of us deal with excess skin... Skim Milk?
I think it is mostly genetics and AGE!!! At my age, my elasticity has dwindled and I really don't think anything including skim milk is going to refurbish it!!! Give me til next fall and I'll let you know for sure!!!

Pre op liquid diet
I really feel sorry for you folks that have had to do extended liquid diets!!!! I consider myself extremely lucky in that I only have to do all liquids the day before surgery. I'm having surgery on 1/7. Have to take MOM on Sunday night 1/5, liquid diet on 1/6 and off to the hospital at 4:30 a.m. on 1/7. Good luck DCborn and everyone else!!! Happy New Year!!!

An atheist's pov vs a christain point of view
I also read it from bottom to top. Although I do believe there is a hell and it is the life I am living right now here on earth. We have wars, men and women killing each other, kids killing whomever they choose, drugs galore, crime running rampant and all the other evil that currently exists. I do believe in heaven and that it will be my reward when I leave here. Again, as said by others, this is my opinion and belief.

Am I the only one that wants to eat this or that for the last time before surgery?
Thanks everyone for your feedback!!! 3 weeks from tomorrow I'll be sleeved!!! I really can't wait and after I posted about eating my favorites, I have yet to do any!!! Crazy, the games our minds play!!! I only have a few things on my "food bucket list" and probably won't eat all of them. I've already lost the required weight and so I haven't really been dieting hard. I've been doing my walking and eating, just a whole lot less than I used to. We went out to eat last night and I ordered a taco salad. Don't touch the shell, only a little dab of the sour cream, and, maybe 1/2 of the meat, salsa, onions, tomatoes and lettuce! I was stuffed and so pushed it away!!! Used to be able to polish one off without a problem! So all in all, I'm ready!!! Thanks again and Happy Holidays everyone!!

Am I the only one that wants to eat this or that for the last time before surgery?
Please tell me I am being normal for wanting to eat a big steak dinner before I have my surgery or a DQ blizzard... In all honesty, how many out there had their last hurrah meals. I am just a curious george wanting to know! They told me to put blinders on but, come on, really???

Mn Patients- Abbott Or St Joes?
I've been in both hospitals and like St. Joe's better. I'm assuming that you are talking about the one in St. Paul. I'm having my surgery in Jan. at Unity in Fridley by Dr. Jeff Baker. Unity has a huge bariatric program. Good luck!

Nervous Wreck!
Whoa! Whoa! Slow down!!! You're getting yourself all worked up over pretty much nothing...I know it's alot to you but let's look at it piece by piece. First, everyone is different and all surgeons are different. Mine for example has had me lose 14 lbs also but I only need to take Milk of Magnesia once and that's two nights before surgery. Next, I only have to be on a liquid diet the day before surgery and then nothing after after midnight. As for your liver, if you lost the 14 lbs required, all of that was fat off of your liver and they will be perfectly happy with what they see. You are so close to your dream so just sit back, think about all the good things to come and how happy you are going to be with your new life. Granted, it won't be a picnic in the beginning but, once you are feeling good you'll look back and say, "what was I thinking!" Good luck with your surgery and your new life to come!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Omg! Surgery In 29 Days! And I Gained A Couple Of Pounds!
Wow! 29 days and counting!!! But, on another note, I became a little piggie this weekend and ate WAY too much!!!! I'm up 3.5 lbs!!! I am so disgusted with myself!! I'm still below where they want me to be, but, that's besides the point. I was doing so well for over 2 months and then some evil gremlin took over my brain and I didn't even think about what I was eating!!!! Nor did I write it down!!! I got up last night to go to work and had a talk with myself. I said, "self, you need to get your act together and stop this nonsense!!" So I'm back on the straight and narrow from here on out!!! Scared to hear what the dietitian is going to say when I see her here in a couple of hours!!! OK...got that off my chest. Thanks for listening to my whining!! Have a great day everyone and a blessed holiday season!!!
