  1. I agree with both replies!! Each and everyone is an individual when it comes to this. I am 2 mos. out on 3/7 and I have lost a total of 27 lbs. since the day of surgery. I lost 21 lbs. pre-op. I'm losing slow and steady but my inches are the biggest loss!! Take what you can get and don't worry, your time will come and you will drop. You'll see... Good luck!!!
  2. Morning everyone!!! Do we have any Post-op sleeve truckers out there??? I am asking because I may be going back to driving this summer and am wondering how it goes while out on the road! I know most Walmarts are a safe haven for drivers so fresh food shouldn't be an issue and most truck stops have microwaves to use. Is it as simple as it sounds??? Thanks in advance for any replies!!! They are greatly appreciated!!!
  3. i keep my hair short so when it starts falling out, I'll just get it cut shorter!!! Already told my friends that if I lose too much, I'll buzz my head. My hair is thin now so can't imagine it much thinner!!!

    feeling resigned

Join the PTA, or, become a member of a church. Not everyone that goes to church are religious fanatics! Good luck!!!
  10. I am surprised that at 18 you want such a drastic surgery!!! Also, at your age, you will have a lot of elasticity in your skin. You have age on your side. Between you and me, I have a grandson that is 18 and if he approached me about having WLS, I would try to talk him out of it unless he had a ton of comorbitities. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a negative nelly but at 18 I just think about all the years you have ahead of you to follow the regime required with the surgery. Good luck to whatever you do!

    6 months out and frustrated

Sorry but I agree! That is a gynormous amount of calories!!! My facility states, 2 oz. by 3 mos. out, 4 oz. by 6 mos. out, etc. up to 6 - 8 oz. by a year. I myself would be drinking more water and eating less. If you are getting hungry, walk or read or drink water or a zero calorie drink. Anything but eat more. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!

    need advice

I was also going to say GNC and I know that Walmart carries protein bars as well.
  18. If you have been exercising/walking it could be that you need to stretch before you do so. As far as your incision, I would contact the surgeon. Your temp is not that bad. But if you call your surgeon about what you are feeling in your abdomen, then I would mention the fever. Don't take chances, you've come too far...Good luck!
  19. I am 6 days post-op and glad that it is over!!! The fatigue is something else!!! I definitely not used to it! Go back for a check up tomorrow and can't wait to get on the scale there!!! I know, I know, I'm not getting overly excited because the numbers could belie what I think. I did weigh myself the other day just because I couldn't resist!! I was happy with what I saw then so hopefully that will continue!!! Have a great day everyone!!!
  20. I know, I know...shouldn't weigh myself within a week of surgery but just couldn't resist the scale just sitting there... So, this morning I jumped on it and, low and behold, I was at 199!!!! OMG!!! I haven't been under 200 since 2007!!!! I'm am so excited about the future right now I don't know what to do with myself! Except, I still feel kinda crappy and so I guess I'll just watch some football!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

    7 month pics

WONDERFUL!!! And you are so so cute!!! Great job!!!
  24. Hey honey. Just so you know, I was sleeved this past Tuesday and I'm 59. I hear what you are saying because I was saying the same things! I don't want to die fat!!! As far as the the preop diet, it's really a very hard mind game. Did your Dr. give you a specific diet to follow? If not, when you get a hunger attack, get out those fresh veggies. Otherwise, stock up on lite yogurt or lite greek yogurt. Eat a scrambled egg made in a spray and put it on a piece of toast. Cook up 1/2 C of macaroni which makes a cup, add a can of tuna(1/4 cup), cut up a total of 1 C. of celery and onion, or, if you prefer, add peas, then add 3 tbsp. lite miracle whip. I know it won't be juicy like we normally like it but you have no idea how much tuna salad this makes and you can have it all for 1 meal!!! You can do it!!!! I have faith!!! These are just a few ideas. I hope this helps even a little.. Good luck.
