I just saw the surgeon yesterday and they said that this will happen if you take too big a sip and take in too much air with the Fluid. They said it will last for a while but should subside when all the swelling is gone from the surgery. Hope this helps...good luck!!

Sorry, I don't have any advice for you other than to hang on and it will happen. I've read tons of posts on here where people have gotten into a stall and then all of a sudden it stops and the lbs start to come off. I've also read where our bodies go into starvation mode and try to hold on to what they have because we are no longer feeding them as we were. The body is a strange creature. I am also in a stall even though I am pre-op. I have been on a 1200 cal. diet since 10/2. In Oct. I lost 16 lbs. As of today, 11/25, I have lost 18 lbs. I have stalled terribly this month alone. Have not lost a pound since 11/3. But, I just keep plugging along and stay on my diet every day. And exercise...have to exercise... I know this doesn't solve your problem but stick with it. I'm sure you will be oh so happy soon when the lbs start to go! Good luck!

I smoked for over 40 years...that's right...40+!!! Smoked 2 packs a day of Marlboro reds. I quit almost 7 years ago and here's how I did it. I got a prescription for Zyban. When I was ready, I started taking the Zyban 2 weeks before my actual last cig. By the time 2 weeks were up the cigs tasted horrible!!! On day 15, I put on a patch, continued to take the Zyban and haven't touched one since. I stayed on Zyban for 3 months and had the patch on for 6. Give it a try! It's no more expensive than buying cigarettes!! Good luck!!!

I've had a catheter several times and they really are no big deal. No pain involved with them. You probably will have pain from the surgery so the cath will be absolutely nothing!!!

What a jerk!!!! I guess I would report him to the managers at the clinic where you go!!! No one, and I mean NO ONE has the right to talk to a patient that way!!! Who is he to belittle others that weren't even there to defend themselves!!!! If that had been me, I most certainly wouldn't have been able to keep my cool like you did! It is your body, your life and, your decision!!! Any physician should respect that unless it is a dire mistake. Obviously he didn't think that or he would not have approved you. Almost sounds like he's jealous because he did his weight loss with a diet. Well goodie for him!!! Stay strong in your conviction and know that you are doing what is right for you!!!

May not be what you want to hear, but, get your hair cut short. A shorter do always makes your hair look thicker. I know. I have thin fine hair and keep it short. If i lose too much I'll go even shorter!!! Good luck!!!

Have you been getting your Water in??? This seems to be the glue, so to speak, that holds it all together! The more water you drink, the more you lose. I have been on a 1200 cal. diet for the last month or so and when I don't get my water in, my loss is less. Good luck!!!

I considered Mexico for myself and just couldn't bring myself to going there for it. Most people on here have said the first week is rough and the idea of getting on a plane and flying home miserable didn't appeal to me at all! Many people have had good luck with MX, don't get me wrong, I'm impressed with them. It truly is a decision everyone has to make for themselves. Good luck with whatever you decide!

I was told no ibuprofen after surgery!! Too harsh on the stomach. Tylenol only.

I know, that was silly! But that's the song I feel like singing!!!! I got cleared by the Psych today AND after seeing the PA who was filling in for the NUT, I got a phone call on the way home and I got cleared from her too!!!!! WOW!! Next appointment is 11/26 and it's to see the Surgeon, the trainer and then the finance people!!!! Tentative date is 1/7/2014!!! WOW!!! That's all I can say!!!! Happy Halloween everyone!!! Be safe!!!
