  1. Morning everyone!!! Do we have any Post-op sleeve truckers out there??? I am asking because I may be going back to driving this summer and am wondering how it goes while out on the road! I know most Walmarts are a safe haven for drivers so fresh food shouldn't be an issue and most truck stops have microwaves to use. Is it as simple as it sounds???

Thanks in advance for any replies!!! They are greatly appreciated!!! ;)

  2. I am surprised that at 18 you want such a drastic surgery!!! Also, at your age, you will have a lot of elasticity in your skin. You have age on your side. Between you and me, I have a grandson that is 18 and if he approached me about having WLS, I would try to talk him out of it unless he had a ton of comorbitities. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a negative nelly but at 18 I just think about all the years you have ahead of you to follow the regime required with the surgery. Good luck to whatever you do!

  3. Sorry but I agree! That is a gynormous amount of calories!!! My facility states, 2 oz. by 3 mos. out, 4 oz. by 6 mos. out, etc. up to 6 - 8 oz. by a year. I myself would be drinking more Water and eating less. If you are getting hungry, walk or read or drink water or a zero calorie drink. Anything but eat more. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you!

  4. Another thing is that I've only "pooped" two times in the past month. I have taken Miralax and nothing. Yesterday, my husband juiced for me with a whole lot of veggies. Nothing. I took benafiber. Nothing.

I know I have not eaten a whole lot of solids these past 4 weeks but surely something should be coming out!

    Any suggestions?

Try Milk of Magnesia. Take 1 Tbsp. in the evening and it should help the next morning. Good luck!!

  5. I am 6 days post-op and glad that it is over!!! The fatigue is something else!!! I definitely not used to it! Go back for a check up tomorrow and can't wait to get on the scale there!!! I know, I know, I'm not getting overly excited because the numbers could belie what I think. I did weigh myself the other day just because I couldn't resist!! I was happy with what I saw then so hopefully that will continue!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

  6. Hey honey. Just so you know, I was sleeved this past Tuesday and I'm 59. I hear what you are saying because I was saying the same things! I don't want to die fat!!! As far as the the preop diet, it's really a very hard mind game. Did your Dr. give you a specific diet to follow? If not, when you get a hunger attack, get out those fresh veggies. Otherwise, stock up on lite yogurt or lite greek yogurt. Eat a scrambled egg made in a spray and put it on a piece of toast. Cook up 1/2 C of macaroni which makes a cup, add a can of tuna(1/4 cup), cut up a total of 1 C. of celery and onion, or, if you prefer, add peas, then add 3 tbsp. lite miracle whip. I know it won't be juicy like we normally like it but you have no idea how much tuna salad this makes and you can have it all for 1 meal!!! You can do it!!!! I have faith!!! These are just a few ideas. I hope this helps even a little.. Good luck.
