Today was really weird. I could eat. Not a ton, but a lot more than I have been eating. I was hungry all day. I was able to eat a full Protein Bar without feeling full and ate every 2 hours. I ate quite a bit. Not as much as I could before surgery, but it was a big hungry eating day.
I wondering if it has anything to do with maybe finally getting my period, but I don't like this. I like getting full fast and not being able to eat much.
Has anyone else had a day like this?

This is all SO true!!! I am on soft foods now... And went to a baby shower last eve... They had chicken chili... Avacado...cheese ...olives bread butter ...wine etc... I LOVE chicken chili... Usually I would have scarfed down a big ol bowl and pondered if I had enough cals for the day for more... I asked my coworker hosting it if I could use a coffee cup to better gauge portion... They all know I had surgery and are totally supportive!! I couldn't even FINISH my lil' portion.. Had one olive skin removed.. 2 lil bites of cheese and avacado.. And a tiny peice the crusty part of the baked French bread and was stuffed. I didn't find myself thinking more about the food because i couldn't even finish my little bit! They giggled when I pulled out my baby spoon to eat too yes... There are challenges... But in so many ways.. I think this tool is going to make life better. No more obsessing over food like I used to. Still enjoy things but in such moderation it's great! I bought myself tiny spice bowls and some fruit bowls to help my eyes adjust. And that small coffee cup was maybe 1/4 to 1/3 full and that mostly the broth... Soooo wierd! But awesome!

My surgery was 8/29 so about the same! Just got the ok from the office to add purreed as I can't stomach the sweet shakes anymore... ( pea Protein btw is a GREAT help... added it to one of the strained cream Soups, and will be adding it into Soups and other pureed things to keep up my Protein intake...14 grams protein, 70 cals per serving
did you need to puree the grits more? I actually love grits, would prefer that over cream of wheat..lol.

Have you tried unflavored pea Protein Powder? I was drinking it for awhile with fresh veggie and fruit juices... It could be added into any cream Soups etc too if you are still at that stage... Is it the overly sweet taste of the Protein Drinks or the milk in them? If its the milk not the sweetness... Eas has a soy chocolate at Walmart that's very good and mixes with Water

I think that you could do just as well with just regular Protein powder mixed with Water etc... Probably cheaper overall and tastes better? i havnt tried the Protein Shots u mentioned but have looked at them and just decided regular Protein Powder made more sense for me...
some ideas to help with Protein intake...Greek yogurt has a lot of protein... Some as high as 13 grams or so... cheese sticks are usually 8 grams... Quinoa instead of rice if your lil sleeve can handle it well has more protein... And Walmart has body fortress whey protein.. I think it's 170 cals for 30 grams of protein
I'm still in the liquid stage ... Only a week out... And mixed it with some milk, and an orange sugar free drink packet and it tasted like a creamsicle... There is also unflavored pea protein you can get online and add into Soup etc.. I also have made baked homemade protein crackers from thatin the past with some pea protein, sunflower seeds, pepitas and a bit of the dry hummus mix from whole foods bulk area..
. Before I decided on the sleeve I had lost over 90lbs on my own and then was stuck the past 25 months in neutral. One of the things I tried was high protein low carb so I found a lot of ways to get additional Proteins into things... Find ways to sneak it into things you like. The pea protein does thicken Soups and such a bit tho too as a warning... That can be good or bad depending what you are making. Lol

Today has been the best day yet since surgery 8/29 went for a short walk this morn, a walk around the grocery story with my best friend to help her ( which oddly barely bothered me at all!!)
And then a 40 min walk back and forth on my street..
. Able to extend the time between pain meds from the 4-6 hours on the bottle to about 7-9 hours between. Got in two full Protein shakes, a Popsicle, 8 oz of strained out cream of chicken mushroom Soup which was yummy and soothing.. And an additional 24 oz of Water....
Getting a bit more hydration each day less gas pressure and the milk in the cream Soup and the Protein Shakes really seemed to lesson the acid reflux thing...
That's been the worst part for me... The pressure thing and the acid reflux... Never had a problem with either before surgery... Otherwise I actually feel pretty *normal* ... Had to remind myself to not dance around the house so much...Lol!
How's everyone else from last week feeling???

my surgery is August 29th... On 1 week liquid now... Fun times! Lol... My nutritionist said it was ok to add a little bit of extract for flavoring the protein... I had a vanilla Protein Shake w a lil banana extract and it kinda tasted like banana cream pie... Ha.
