    You are hilarious!!!
It happened to me too. You might care now, but you won't when you're in there. It doesn't phase them because they see it all the time, and given the amount of medication you'll be on, they could practically give you a bedside enema and you'd not care/forget... It's the hospital. They have a "we won't tell, you won't remember" policy. It'll be okay. Trust me.

Today is a big deal for me. One year ago I had surgery. I was scared but knew something had to change.
One year later I am 80lbs down, ... And 15 lbs up... 22 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby girl.
I'm really proud of this accomplishment. I worked hard and now I get to be rewarded by becoming a mom. (Pretty amazing.)
Sorry for the terrible pictures. They are all I have on my phone.

Beaumont Doctors & Staff were amazing! I highly recommend Dr. Krause! It took approximately a month from the initial visit with the surgeon. Once all the paper work & tests were completed it was roughly a month! I wanted to loose as much weight prior to surgery. 4 months post op & I'm down 31 lbs.

Beer. I'm not gonna lie. My brain misses beer..
...but the rest of my body does not! It's busy getting heathy and recovering from all the bad choices I made over the last decade!

In addition to Hair loss ---- Anyone else been in a stall for two/three weeks? I am at 205 and have been for almost three weeks. I am dying to see a 199. My crippled *** might even do a cartwheel to Celebrate I swear. IF I ever get there!

MetroDetroitChic got a reaction from Dreamin Again in Do you feel better now that you have lost weight?
There is no question I feel better. I can't eat myself into a diabetic coma with three pieces of cake or a huge pile of nutrion-less fettuccine alfredo.
My Iron is under control. My Protein levels are under control. I have energy now!
There is 250pounds less on my bad knee (5lbs of pressure for every 1lb lost).
And I make it to the gym more often than not because I actually WANT to now. It's like I've become an endorphin junkie. I don't feel just a little better, I feel a TON better!

I am hopeful my marriage will sustain this change in my life. I have been married 40 years. I was not overweight when we got married (115 lbs). In fact, I wore the little miini skirt, gogo boots, etc of that era. I had long blonde hair and big tatas. Ha. Anyway, 40 years later, my hair is short and grey, I had breast reduction surgery 15 years ago, and I wear pants with elastic waist bands. Not a day goes by that he does not say that he loves me. He is tall and slim and very active, so his wish is for me to get healthy again so we can get back to activities that we once enjoyed together. I have strong hopes that we will enjoy the new me and our marriage will become even stronger.... And a whole lot more fun! He is getting the bikes ready as we speak. Only time can tell how this will go.

    Yes! Absolutely.
Everything from my knees to just the way I fit into a chair. I can walk miles and miles and not need a break. I look in the mirror and I feel accomplished and don't want to look away too quickly. I feel more confident meeting new people and not wonder if they think bad things about me. I feel confident enough to give advice to other people about what to eat, how to workout and safe means to weight loss.
I just love the confidence in myself, it's hard to explain. This person has always been in here, but she's been living in a cocoon. Maybe your time hasn't happened yet when you really realize that you do feel better, but I believe it will happen eventually.
    Stay stronger!

The only thing I slightly grieved, very early in the process, was giving up binge eating. Knowing I'd never have the crutch of eating my way into a food coma like I did before. Of course that was the entire purpose of the surgery, but it is still a loss and awareness that the old habit must die.
Other than that few moments of sadness? I miss nothing.
Oh, except knee pain, back pain, sleep apnea, sky high blood pressure, foot pain, sweating whenever I exerted myself, not fitting in the bathtub, embarrassment wherever I went, seatbelt extenders on air planes, eating in secret, several daily prescription meds, etc. I miss those SO much. NOT!

Give up on the scale and instead look at your body everyday. Even though my scale isn't moving I can physically see my shape changing daily. Literally daily. My stomach is melting away even though I haven't lost a pound in two weeks... (In a stall currently.)
Give up on the scale. Really.

    Hilarious.
Yeah, I would say the bat wings, boobs and things that happen to me as a result of the birth control and high Protein (fiberless) diet they have me on now is very much not rainbows and sunshine - LOL!
I seriously envisioned my body would somehow morph back to its shape/functionality at the age of 21... Silly silly me!
Oh well. Even though I am bound to look like a raisin (despite my best water/exercise/protein/Metamucil efforts) I still feel better than I have in the last 15 years. Congrats on the exercise. If nothing else, it makes me feel like a million bucks right afterwards - and I sleep like a baby. I hope it does the same for you!
Congrats on the weight loss too, btw --- that's awesome!

Yeah, I know what you mean about body image issues. I am quite sure I could jump out of an airplane without a parachute and land safely due to my new batwings. And I am seriously in search of a bra that can get these saggy things back into place and keep them there. Good grief!
One day at a time I suppose. Oh well.

I cannot cook. I hate it and am awful. But I also avoid fast food like the plague. Way too big of a trap for me.
Here's the deal: even though you may hate cooking you need to learn to like your kitchen. I live on tuna, grilled chicken (learn to grill it's so easy). And I do occasionally make some recipes from The World According to Eggface. One recipe is a lot of meals for me and I know it's healthy.
As someone who probably made 10 meals total in 37 years of existence pre surgery, trust me... You can do this. If I can do it, YOU can do it!
