Straws!
I have had an issue that I wont put my mouth on a glass. I have used a straw for years. Now I buy bottled water. I am 6 weeks post op and I do use straws sparingly. I think the issue came from years of living in NY and we all used straws.

Bi-Polar Sleevers
Did you have to go to a shrink before your surgery that works with weight loss pts? I would call them. I really liked the person I saw. Our bodies are going through big changes so it is good to get medical advice first.

SURGERY IN 5 DAYS AND I HAVE A BAD COLD.
I would go to your PCP. I would try to build up your immune system before surgery. It took alot out of me. I had just started getting a sore throat the day of surgery. I had a real hard time breathing afterwards. Don't play around with it. It was scary for me.

My Fitness Pal Calorie Question
I track my calories in My Fitness Pal. Today I had 580 calories that I ate but exercised 400 calories for a net calories of 110. I am supposed to eat between 600-800 calories. Is the calorie count the gross or the net calories after exercise?.. I am confused???? Thanks for helping!

PCP don`t agree with weight loss surgery, I`m just thinking should i change my pcp?
You know I went to my pcp for a referal for a lap band ..his thin self said - no you have not dieted hard for a year...that same day we had a lunch at my job by a baratric / plastic suregon. I made an appointment with him that day. When I went through the process my gyno sent over my records and weight records. I went back to my PCP and told them I did it.. He said - well you sure are motivated. I thought you just wanted all that money for my blood work. I feel amazing and I am only 5 weeks out! What a jerk! Call your insurance you may not need a referal.

Pcos Spironolactone Aka Aldactone
I took it for over 10 years and had a lot of hair. I did a year of laser hair removal. I started doing at a school for people to learn laser hair removal. I have since done a couple groupons and it was much better results. I have blond hair and I am fair. I have lots of dark hair on my chin. I haven't had any treatments in about 9 months. I got great results. I also still shave with a 5 blade razor. I looked up 5 blades and they work the best. I have mostly blond hair now. I have not taken the meds since I was sleeved on July 22nd.

My surgery story
In 2000 I was 240 pounds and lost 70 pounds. I was married to a man who wanted me thin but nothing was ever good enough for him. He was verbally abusive and my self esteem was terrible. I got the courage and got a divorce. I kept the weight off for many years but managed to gain back 30 of it. I was still over weight. I got a new job and on that day went to my primary care dr. He said I had not dieted for a year and would not support my decision. What? I was crushed. That same day my dr did a lunch seminar on gastric sleeve. I talked to him that day and made an apt the same day. I bcbs and only had 1 physc eval and 1 nutrition visit, I had to do EGD, stress test, and sleep study. I found out I had a hital hernia. My family was supportive although they do not live here. I was really hurt that my sister had the same week off on vacation and chose to go on vacation but didn't come spend time with me during my surgery. I got very sick and had a reaction to the antibotic. I had severe nausea and none of the medicines worked. I work for an airline so there's no charge to fly. She is a nurse and I needed someone with me in the hospital. She had the nerve to call and yell at me in the icu! Thank god I have great friends and neighbors who came and saw me. I had a really hard time drinking Water in the hospital. I could only get down ice tea. I was so weak I could barely walk. I did it so I could go home. The funny thing is - I had NO PAIN. They kept saying your in pain your bp is up. I was like I feel nothing. I only took tylenol at home none of the pain meds. I am telling the surgery was a piece of cake. LOL I got home and things went great. I drank my Protein shakes, walked for 2 minutes every hour on my treadmill. I am almost 4 weeks out.. I have lost 22 pounds ( maybe more I am not weighing till my one month date), I walk an hour a day on my treadmil. I feel great! I also went back to work 1 week after my sleeve. I feel great!
