  1. I would think that smoking of any substance would comparable to smoking tobacco post-op. Tabacco smoking post-op is linked with longer healing period and increases the risk for infection and other complications. I would say wait at least 8 weeks post op before smoking just to be safe.
  2. I'm working toward surgery @ Sparrow Weight Management currently. Hoping for a May surical date. For those who have been there what has your surgical experience been like?
  3. I'm aiming for an early to mid May surgery date. I've already discussed having surgery with my boss and May is looking like the best time but if not May definately early June. I'm starting to get supper excited and a little nervous. It seemed as though it took forever to get the ball rolling but everything just seems to be falling into place.

    Just beginning!

Congrats. I'm just starting out as well. I've known for a while this is what I want but didn't have insurance. New job and insurance so it's time to get the ball rolling. I know my insurance requires 6 months of weight management. Starting out a little a** backwards I've attended the information seminar and a post op support meeting (my mom had lap-band). Have an apointment to meet with my PCP and discuss the WLS Oct 1.
