Does smoking marijuana before ir after surgery affect anyone at all. Do you still get the munchies after the surgery when you do smoke?

Longtime mj user. I don't get the munchies, but be careful!

  • 4 weeks later...

Surgery was Monday march 24th I smoked up until surgery an was cleared by my surgeon to smoke again 3 days post op. Just avoid coughing as it can cause discomfort in early days. I do not have the munchies now.

Had a horrible day and would like to smoke - I have surgery on Thursday. Should I or shouldn't I ??? Like if I smoke will it affect my surgery tremendously??? Advise please......

I would think that smoking of any substance would comparable to smoking tobacco post-op. Tabacco smoking post-op is linked with longer healing period and increases the risk for infection and other complications. I would say wait at least 8 weeks post op before smoking just to be safe.
