chrissythemoo got a reaction from Lisa's Hope in Severe Gerd And Severe Esophageal Spasms 18 Months Post Op
Thanks guys. My problem, bad as it is, is not the worst I've heard. One woman on here was in a coma for 19 days and was in hospital for 5 1/2 months. They had to convert her sleeve to a bypass as the bottom of her stomach was seriously infected. She came through it and so will we. :-) xx

Oh Lisa's Hope, I really feel for you. I am 3 months out and have spent 5 out of the past 8 weeks in hospital due to a mystery collection of Fluid which became infected. I had a drain put in but after it was removed 3 weeks later the fluid re-collected and again became infected. The pus travelled down the path of least resistance which was where the drain had been and collected under skin as it had healed at this point. Had to go back to theatre to have it aspirated plus they did an endoscopy. They determined the sleeve had healed and there was no sign of a leak. They then put in another CT guided drain, which, 2 weeks later, is still producing pus. So, the question is, where the hell is this fluid coming from??? I have to be honest, I feel quite jealous of all those on here that haven't had any complications and am a little bitter. Still, hopefully I'll get better eventually.

chrissythemoo got a reaction from StayingStrong in Why am I ashamed that I had to have WLS?
Sadly for me, my extremely judgemental and downright nasty mother managed to find out and basically told anyone who would listen. However, I don't care who knows. I just look at this as another diet. But unlike weight watchers, I paid all the money up front. I have a hormone imbalance and had days where no matter how much I ate I would still be hungry. I simply did what I had to do to put things right and feel no shame at all. Me 1 - mommy dearest 0. Lol!

chrissythemoo got a reaction from losingthefatt in Did Anyone Have To Gain Weight To Qualify?
Yup. I had to gain 14lbs to meet the criteria. I just ate nothing but take-aways and it piled on. It seemed a really bizarre thing to have to do but I am now, 3 months out, 178lbs as opposed to 238lbs. So worth it. :-)

chrissythemoo got a reaction from Sleeve Siren in Question for Those 1 Year+ Out
Dobeigh and 7bites, you are exactly where I wanna be at a year out. Portion Control was my issue and I have no intention of being a lifelong dieter/tracker. I just wanna eat less which is where the sleeve comes in.

That's one thing I wanted to ask. Has anyone else lost their thirst? Only I haven't felt thirsty once since my surgery and it worries me. I can go hours before realising I haven't drunk anything....

Just been informed there's a stomach big doing the rounds that causes acid and gas big time. Guess that explains everything.

[quote=holidayexpressions]Are y'all getting on the scale everyday? If so why??? If your on a stall take the batteries out of the scale and throw them across the street. If you keep seeing that stall every morning when you step up on the scale it's going to keep you discouraged. I weighed Sunday for the first time in two week. Keep off the scale!
I agree. I was doing a Bridget Jones myself and when things slowed down I got really down. I made a decision the other day to only weigh in once a week. I have to admit that after years of jumping on the scales before I step in the shower its become a habit and it's really hard not stepping on them. But im staying strong and staying off them. :-)

Don't panic! I gained 3lbs overnight at about the same point. It does come off again.

I was told not to use a straw. But I don't see how I could possibly take in any more air than I do when sipping.

chrissythemoo got a reaction from ElyQuint in Over this liquid stage...and HuNGrY!
Not me. I have been so hungry all the time and was able to eat more than I should without discomfort. However, after 3 days on puree it all started to settle down and now things are very different. Am not nearly as hungry and eating less. The dog is loving it and sits by me at meal times as she knows she'll get half! Lol!
