  1. Something else popped into my head this morning since I'm a work. The only stories on here I read are stories like, "I have a desk job so went back after a week!" I don't have a desk job. I have a very physical job. In fact I'm not allowed to sit except on lunches and breaks. I constantly have to bend over and pick up boxes. Lift 50 lbs if need be. Anyone have a job like that on here? How soon were you back to work?

    Back to work

I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm just asking questions to know what to expect. I work in retail and by the time I should be having my surgery it will be about October or November sometime. It's hard to take off then with the holidays.

  4. For this I am talking directly after the surgery. Maybe the first two or three weeks. How has the surgery affected you sleeping? Is it only comfortable to sleep on your back? Or maybe one side or the other?
  5. Thanks so much for the responses. I'm a stomach sleeper. And if I'm not on my stomach have to be on my side with a pillow. First few days may be hard. Good luck to everyone.
  6. Hi there! Just a quick question for you. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I joined MFP with a lot of people so I could see their food diaries and get some ideas. Also to pass along support and receive some after my surgery. What I've noticed on MFP is that some people will eat snacks and some won't. So I'm curious to know, after the surgery do you stick to just 3 main meals a day. With a snack every now and then. Or do you eat several small meals a day. Or is it just what you're body wants for that day?
  7. Good luck with it. And let me know if it works. I tried the Visalus shakes before and they tasted great at first then after three weeks that was it. Made me kind of sick.

    why do people hide it?

I have told my mom (who tried talking me out of it) my boyfriend (who is worried but supportive) and 3 friends (one didn't care and the other two looked at me like I was an idiot but quickly changed to they know I can do it) my dad and step mom warned me not to do it even though I never told them I was considering. I will not tell anyone else simply because my whole life I have tries being invisible and avoided conflict. I do not want to deal with my coworkers and friends that don't understand this is a tool to help me. So if anyone asks I will simply say I watch what I eat and exercise. Maybe when I reach goal I will tell them about surgery.
  9. I Think this is it. Syntrax nectar whey Protein Isolate, powder, Lemon Tea I've never tried it. Only heard about it on one of the threads. I ended up having to google it to get the name. >.< terrible memory of mine. Hope this helps.
  10. Barb, I've seen a lot of people talk about a protein drink like a tea. But right now I can't remember the name of it.
  11. No I haven't bought any yet. What I have heard from a lot of people is that your taste buds will change so I don't want to try them all, find one I like and buy that. Then turn around and it just taste awful! I figured I would buy the samples maybe a pack a pay check and then try them after the surgery when I can.
  12. I haven't even had my first appointment and I'm driving myself crazy waiting until the surgery I'm so excited. Spend my time on here. I needed that reply even though I still have a ways to go.
  13. Frank, Thanks for all of the inspiration from your post. And congratulations on the weight loss. Keep this thread going and I can't wait to know when you reach goal!
  14. Good job on the self control!!! :-)

    Got my approval and NERVOUS!

Congratulations on the surgery date! And anesthesia is not bad at all. I had to go under for my gall bladder. They told me to count backward from ten and I don't remember getting past 6.

    NOT COVERED!

I haven't had my surgery yet. However, my Doctor's office said that they would use my insurance to cover the before and after appointments. And the actual surgery itself will be financed.

That's great. I'm so excited and nervous. I have insurance but it won't cover the actual surgery. I know they will work with me and help I'm just hoping I can actually do this. Congratulations on the weight loss!
  20. I don't know if I want to tell or not. My mother, boyfriend, and three closes friends know. But if they weight falls off what am I going to tell people? I don't mind being honest about it. What scares me the most is if I tell someone (some people can be very rude and gossipy) and they make it sound like a bad thing? I have always been big and worked hard on being invisible. I never really stood up for myself. Can I do that now? I know that this is just a tool and a tool I want. But others might not see it like that. How so I handle the opposition when I've never had to really face it before and instead turned the other way?
  21. I can't wait to be able to get up and play with my kids. Go to the park as much as they want and ride bikes with my son. Run a 5k. Hike. Ride bikes a lot. Shave my whole leg. Shave private parts without a mirror. Cross my legs (been big my entire life. Never done it) buy clothes in a regular store. Fit in booths. Paint my toenails. Sit down and stretch out so I touch my toes without belly getting in the way. Fit into amusement park rides again! So excited!!!!
