Venison And Elk Meat..
I use tomato, garlic and onion to flavor venison. Also, steak seasoning is great on hamburgers. Next time, tell him to go for a nice, plump doe. The meat always tastes better!

4th Week Eating
I had that "air bubble" feeling too, after eating. I think it's because I've had a hard time knowing when I'm full. It's easy to eat too much at once, and better to measure amounts and keep them small.

Pouch size?
I also have a hard time tolerating the Protein shakes..and most make me nauseous. Now (6 weeks out) I can have the Protein Bars, and can tolerate them, although it seems like I'm eating a candy bar. I still have a hard time getting the required 60 to 80 grams of protein a day, all I can do is around 50. Any suggestions?

stuck at 202
I'm stuck at 201...getting discouraged......

Drain...
The drain was the biggest aggravation for me. I had an infection around the drain site, and have been on antibiotics for 7 days, finally it's healing. Also, I'm stuck with weight loss, even though I'm not even eating 500 calories a day. It's my third week since surgery. Anyone else get stuck at this point? I'm getting discouraged.

How long did it take for you to feel normal again?
It's been two weeks, and I was pretty much pain free from the third day. Better ask your Dr. about fostering. I know lifting is a no-no for a while.

Going to Sam's Club soon
Any veggies that can be soft cooked, eggs, tunafish, fish, etc. You're fortunate. I have to do clear liquids for two weeks with protein shakes.

Smooth Recovery? Anyone?
So far, my recovery had been smooth (2 weeks since surgery). Still on liquids, but I'm getting enough protein to stay energized. Would do it over again in a heartbeat! It's so good not to feel hungry all the time.

Will you lie about the surgery?
I used the hernia repair excuse for most people (truly, I had a painful hiatal hernia that was pushing my stomach into my chest cavity). I've told a few people, which usually means I've told the entire world lol. What's sad is that most people have a prejudice against fat people. They have to be educated that obesity is a disease, just like any other.

Eating at 4 months
Once you start eating regular food again, minus the fats and sugar, is portion control easier? That's my fear, getting too hungry again.
-
How do you know when enough is enough?
When they did my surgery, they had to repair a hernia and could not make my stomach as small as they usually do. Did anyone else have this problem? I'm afraid I won't lose as much.

How much yogurt?
Just a week out of surgery and I am looking forward to having my fat-free-sugar-free Greek yougurt again. Much more palatable than these horrible whey protein drinks I've been downing. Looking forward to week three!
