I had surgery on 12-05-13, my blood pressure was fine prior to surgery but was high afterwards. They were using a small cuff to check my pressure initially. When they switched to a larger cuff my blood pressure was back to normal.

I've been having Constipation issues as well. Milk of Mag has worked but boy is that stuff disgusting! I'm going to get a probiotic asap because I just don't want to have to taste that stuff again unless it's absolutely necessary.

Sorry this happened to you but I'm confused. Your location says California???

Thanks! That didn't even register when I read your post.

Glad you broke your stall and losing 37-38 pounds is great! Keep up the good work!!!

It's baffling how many women (over 30 years old) don't know that your menstrual cycle will cause you to gain pounds and/or retain Water.< /p>

This is a great topic for discussion and one that has been asked a few times so we know it really is an "issue". I am a private person and don't feel the need to share my medical information with others. I have included my husband and my daughter into my "circle of trust" and I have told a bit to my best friend who lives 1000 miles away. Ive not told any of my family members (parents, siblings, nieces, nephews) and I haven't told anybody that I work with. I am not ashamed. In fact I am excited and overjoyed at this opportunity which will take place a week from Monday.(Feb 10th yayyy) I know too many people that will say negative comments and I don't wish to hear any of those comments. Also, I don't want to be the subject of conversation for others that don't have anything better to talk about. Regardless of how kind and supportive people can be to our face, they will use our situation as topic of conversation with others. I hate gossip and don't want to be involved with it. Now, if people wish to talk about me when I'm thin and hot... well, that's another story. lol
Circle of trust. I like that...isn't that from Meet the Fockers?
Whenever this topic comes up I always think to myself...you can't unring a bell.

Congrats! Keep positive it's the best journey imaginable! Three and a half months out and down over 90 pounds! Keep us updated!
That's awesome!!! I want to have your stats but I don't imagine I'll be losing 50 lbs in the next 6 weeks. Hey a girl can dream. Men lose faster anyway...

Oh! I remember reading your post about that. I think another poster was also going through the program and they didn't have a NUT to cover while she was out on maternity leave.

Congratulations on getting approved!! I had my surgery at Kaiser (Southern California) too. What was your 6 month program like?

My restriction was not lifting/carrying my 26 pound 6-month-old for three weeks (nothing above 20 pounds). I could hold him if someone handed him to me, just not lift or carry. I was able to get some help in the first several days, but by the two-week mark, I had no help and no choice. I didn't carry him in his car seat, and only carried him when I absolutely had to.
God bless you...a 26 pound 6 month old?!? I love a nice "fluffy" baby!

You don't get the recommended amount right after surgery. Your stomach is swollen and it's impossible. My doctor told me to concentrate on staying hydrated...the Protein will come later.
Ask your doctor about his/her guidlines after surgery.

I had a morphine pump at the hospital and liquid hydrocodone at home.
Same here. I only took the hydrocodone for 1 day at home, my pain was not that bad.

How many grams of protein are you averaging daily?
