    Ditching the protein shakes

My nut and surgeon prefer patients eating real food, but are okay with one protein shake a day. I'm almost 10 months out and usually start my day with a shake for breakfast.

    Does anyone regret it?

At 9 months out, I can eat anything I want, just in smaller quantities. I absolutely don't miss eating until I'm miserable!
  3. Hi there! I'm 9 months out and I have always used Premiere Protein ready to drink which I purchase at Sams or Costco. Chocolate is my favorite. I still have one every morning for breakfast. As far as supplements, I take three Bariatric Advantage Ultra capsules every day and three Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate chewies. That's the brand my surgeon recommends, so that's what I take! I also take two biotin per day. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have.
  4. I backed out the first time then decided to do it two years later. Once I made that decision, I never doubted it. Knew it was the right decision for me -- and it was. 9 months out and still certain it was the right decision. Love my sleeve! Wishing you all the best on your journey.

    Does anyone regret it?

No regret, not even for a second!
  6. Sleeved October 2013. I'm 5'1" (almost) and weighed 184. My current weight is 130. Yes, weight loss is slower in terms of pounds lost, but not by percent of weight lost. I think it's worth noting that I'm 65 years old and was not active the first 4 months after surgery. I

    65 and over

Good for you, Kate! Hoping all goes well for you with your surgery. I'm 65 and this has be Ben the best thing I've done for myself. Kind of hating on the saggy skin, but better than the 'puffy' skin. Let us know how things are going for you.

    Breast Reduction & UHC

Please tell me more! I need something done, but I don't know what. My breasts aren't that large now, just that long. At 65, I'm not looking for big and perky (might look odd ;( . Would a reduction work? Is it horribly expensive?

Is the sleeve safe long term?

Two years ago, I was two weeks away from getting sleeved. I let my fear and doubt get the best of me and I backed out. Thought I'd give it one more try. Guess what, I failed again! Last October, I finally got sleeved. This time I was sure - I wasn't nervous or fearful. I had faith in my surgeon and my decision. Best decision ever! I only had 54 lbs to lose and I've lost 53. 1 lb to go! I'm still losing and will probably pass goal. It's a lot of work and dedication, but totally worth it.
  12. Duh! You really think he would announce his marital status?
  13. Of course I followed my post op diet to a 't'. Why would I mutilate my body then do something stupid to jeopardize my success or even my life!
  14. Wow! You look fantastic. So happy for you!

    Trader Joe's

Sounds like I'm going to have quite a list for TJ! I'll need to bring plenty of bags. Thanks so much to all. Your input is really appreciated!
  16. Susan - thank you for defending the honor of the victims. It would probably be helpful if they were willing to personally post their experiences first hand. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else, but it seems others might be reluctant to believe this information from a third party.

Do you do it ? the X word . EXERCISE !

I didn't exercise for the first few months due to gout in my foot. By the time that was resolved, it was too cold and I was too lazy. Anyway, my brain finally got the memo and I started walking about 6 months out. I'm now 9 months out and seriously regret that I didn't start sooner. I have lost 53 lbs and my goal is 54. Weight is okay, but no muscle tone. Gotta work a lot harder now.????
