Cookie you and I have the exact surgery date, congrats how long have you been on your journey?

Well update do to waiting list I can not have surgery until May 5,14 but I am staying positive and hanging in there.

Please research both rny has extensive history and most people are off all meds, as well it's reversible as where the sleeve is not , both are effective but if you have gerd or ACID reflex the sleeve makes this worst, also some had to have revisions from the sleeve to rny. Discuss all options with your surgeon yo determine which one is best for you. Good luck .

Shaydigga first congrats on your choice to be healthy, I do not have the insurance your talking about but make sure you check to ensure they cover your procedure GeForce you get started. You will read on her that some people have gone through programs and then was informed their insurance doesn't cover their surgery. Good luck.

SusinMichigan hello it is great news to get the approval from your insurance company because you now know that your surgery is approve and your almost there for your chance to be healthy. I just got my approval one week today from my insurance company and I am awaiting my surgery date. It is a great relief knowing that you have gone through all of the changes, meetings, test just to get hold your breath and get approved. It has taken me 8 months to complete all requirements form my insurance company as well as the center of excellence program requirements and I was approved on the first try. This is a exciting time for you as well as all of us because we know now we are almost there. Congrats on your approval , and the decision you made to be healthy . Keep us posted on your progress.

Nobby I am so glad your doing great, I am still awaiting a new surgery date I was told by my insurance company 5/5/14 because I have to take a 4 hour class and signed some paperwork and meet with the surgeon again . I am awaiting for the consultation person to contact me for my appointment . So I will keep you posted .

Hi yes I will share my story as soon as I found out that I really wanted to do this, after i left my first seminar I gave up pop and began exercising by starting with walking everyday until the weather got cold, then I started with zumba, every day for 45 minutes. I am still going through the process right now and has just gotten approved as of 3/ 13/14. Now I am awaiting a surgery date, and the coordinator wont be back until this week and should be contacting me. I have also began trying out new Protein drinks and like the premiere Protein Drinks as sams club as well as grape frost Isopure. I have began watching what I eat and hold myself accountable for my actions. I have begun a journal and have seen that writing down my experiences has help. I know that I can do this because I have made the changes that are necessary for me to be successful .

You need o try and quit cold turkey I was informed in my group that you have to stop smoking 3 months prior to surgery, I would double check with my doctor since everyone requirements are different good luck.

I agree the weight loss book for dummies was excellent , I too have retread it and will be having surgery soon, I plan to rake it with me to the hospital as well .

I would step on that scale and use it as a beginning part for my new life, knowing where you came from and where you are going is important to me . I would get a journal and began writing as well, take one day at time and began making changes and taking accountability for your eating patterns . As stated by another reader above small changes now will make it easier for you when you have your procedure . Good luck.

I was informed I could get either one then we discuss my eating habits as well as acid reflex and the bypass was suggested.

I think what you are feeling we have all felt that way and is commonly referred to as a food funeral , began using this time to not binge eat because of fear of the unknown and stress but take one day at a time and began eating correctly and began making life long changed this will help prepare you for after surgery . Hi I agree with the above statement, my doctor does not even offer the band because of its failure, you want to live and be there for yourself as well as your family, you survive the band and this too shall pass , you need to be shellfish and focus on the positive and one day at a time , you are fighting for your life as well as bring healthy , if you let fear drop you I promise you that you will develop more health issues due to your weight. Who knows I'm telling you from experience I have been waiting 8 months and I was only required 6 months because my paperwork was not completed on time and fax to wrong doctor because I switch surgeons , now I'm on the right track at a center of excelence hospital and just hot approved for surgery. Now I'm just waiting for my date . Keep me posted .

You also wanted it submitted ASAP because it rakes time to feet approved as well as surgery date.

I sure hope not as much as they are getting paid for the surgery , I'm still awaiting my date I was just approved by my insurance .
