You will be fine! The most dangerous part of your trip will probably be getting through the TSA at the airport!

I am going to be on my way to Mexicali, and surgery with Dr. Aceves. That being said, I read part of whatever little dust-up happened over someone coming home un-sleeved. From what I read, this was her own choice.
My choice is to go forward with my trip and I will ask about his complications. There are thousands of threads on these forums and I know (even though I may not have much of a life)that I have not had time to go through all the complications, just as some people do not share their "easy" outcomes - so that others don't get the wrong idea. Could it just be possible that all the people who had complications did not post their outcomes??

She's also a trauma surgeon who worked in San Francisco. I was a trauma flight nurse on a helicopter and fixed wing (airplane) for a year. With both Dr. Valenzuela and Dr. Ismael Cabrera, they have over 5, 000 surgeries performed with no deaths.

I have already created Mexico Trip Tips & Sleeve Bible(s) documents. I'm contemplating on starting a document for pre and post sleevers regarding exercise (cardio, weight lifting, toning, flexibilty, stretching, etc). I would love input especially from the gurus, experienced sleevers. I have a lot of advanced exercises; however it's really important for the pre-sleever or recently sleeved (after medical clearance to exercise). This information will not supercede medical instructions from their PCP or surgeon(s). Thanks in advance.

PrincessSleeve reacted to MumtazG38 in Mi Doctor Hospital Updates! Admitted and excited! Woohooooooo!
Ok, so I'm officially admitted to Mi Doctor. Sitting on my bed, in my room right now! Waiting for the nurse to come do my EKG! !!! So excited I might explode! HAHA! Anyways....just got my blood pressure taken. And ever since I got to MX I've been dealing with Nissi......ATTN: EVERYONE ASK FOR THIS GIRL! SHE IS UH-FRIGGIN-MAZINGGGGGG! Girl gets it done I tell ya! And she's quick as heck! Not to mention she runs the place and people here like a boss!!!! She'll do everything and MORE in her power to make sure you feel uber comfortable....or fall head over heals in love with her, and leave your spouse/partner.....one of the two !
    - Nurse just walked in.
Ok, back, just got my EKG done. Was a breeze.....first time....is it bad I was thinking copious amounts of electricity were supposed to flow out of those probes and teach my left breast how to dougie.....
    - Another nurse just walked in.
Yes so, just got my bloodwork done. Essentially pain free! Several unidentified solar systems better regarding pain level!!!!
    - Hold on...EKG nurse just walked in...lol.
Okay....THAT was an owie...waah. . Just got the IV. The female nurse was having a super hard time finding a good vein (My veins ALWAYS end up FAILING me like this LOL). She kept on pulling it back, and shoving it in again.....several rounds of this and the mail nurse who was initially supposed to do my EKG (but Nissi the absolute angel felt I'd be more comfy having a female err...deal with that...situation. lol...she was so right ) magically walked in and asked me if I'd be ok with letting him have a try. I didn't feel a single thing when he did it....he also took his time finding my good vein and coercing that sneaky little b*tch out. He rocks.....U.S nurses should learn from this guy....no ish!
    - One sec...A doctor just walked in.
Ok, so yeah. A staff doc just let me know my bloodwork and ekg look picture perfect and I'll be having the surgery in approximately an hour and a half! WOOHOOOOO! Can't wait!

And I hit GOAL yesterday! Could not be more excited, although it seems a bit surreal that in 6 months and 2 days I have lost 81 pounds! Start weight was just under 220 at 5'4. Today's weight...138! I have gone from a size 20 jeans to a 6, and a 2XL top to a SMALL! My chest went from a 42DD to a 36D or 34DD depending on the fit! I am thrilled with my results, and while it hasn't been "easy" the whole time, the process for me honestly hasn't been that difficult. I log every.single.thing that passes my lips on MyFitnessPal and I workout for 90-120 minutes a day...running 3-6 miles 6 days a week and lifting weights with my amazing best friend and workout buddy, who has also been my biggest cheerłeader. Going to Mexico was hands down the single best decision I have ever made for myself. I finally have my life back, and truly feel like a new person. And don't mind my husband's closed eyes in the one photo...we could NOT get a good pic of him that night!

My sister, myself and 2 friends have all been sleeved by Dr Vanezuela with zero complications or issues! We all totally feel that it was the best medical experience we've all had. I would highly recommend Mexico Bariatric Center with Dr Vanezuela -a great experience!!

I'm now at 4 months post-op. I had surgery on March 18th w/Dr. Garcia in Tijuana. For me, it was a great experience. He and his whole team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. And, if you add him on Facebook, Dr. Garcia is awesome about answering any follow-up questions you might have.
I've got a ways to go, but I'm very happy with my progress so far.

I am having surgery with Valenzuela on July 31st. I will be there on the 27th until August 5th, just in case. My coordinator Cindy had the same surgeon and she's doing great. I am going through Mexico Bariatrics.
