    All you can eat

What is an example of how many times a week you would have comfort food like pizza's and such ? That's amazing 100 pounds in 10 months.

    All you can eat

Thanks for sharing your honesty is exactly what I needed to read. It just proves that no matter what we do or how we do it you can still maintain a comfortable lifestyle with food. No reason to be ashamed at all.

    All you can eat

Wow, thanks for the responses. Lipstick Lady to answer your question I had this surgery to be healthier, to look good, and to limit my food intake because of emotional eating, and years of being an expert dieter. I know know that the right tools are in my hands and its going to take my motivation to ensure that I'm eating the right foods to ensure a successful healthy lifestyle. To be honest I'm still having days were I'm waiting to wake up and feel like ok this is not working no matter what I do, so where do I go from here? I do want to enjoy the foods I want, and not worry that I 'm going to always over do it or have to limit myself to just one type of food(s). I know to be successful I still have to have those days were I eat a normal portion of something I absolutely love. I don't have any cravings right now but I'm 6 weeks out (its still early) . I'm very fearful of my long journey because I see several people that I personally know that have had the sleeve and all are gaining weight back after their 2 year mark. I don't want this to be me. I don't want to go anywhere near 300 lbs again. I do want to be fit looking and healthy. Overall I do not want to live a life in fear of the scale or food, lets face it that's why a lot of us have become overweight in the first place. I constantly see people looking at me now that are always checking me out every time they see me to say nice things, and I know some may be looking and waiting until I come back and all that weight comes with me, just so they can say negative things about what I have done. I realize the last comment may be a bit much , but a lot of people just wait to say negative things when your heading down. I just had to ask this question because food should not be a stand off, instead in fact it shouldn't even be this hard but it is. I'm going to do my best not to let me down. I struggle to keep my head in the game of just being happy and avoid old habits.

    Quitting Caffeine ZZZZzzzzzzz!

When I was post op I used to drink sugar free redbulls everyday just because I could. I don't think they even worked anymore. I used to drink them before workouts and they didn't push me to go harder or help increase my time spent in the gym. I often would become a zombie get sleepy and then wanted to take a nap. I don't miss them at all. Good for you on taking it one vice at atime. You will do great.....

    All you can eat

Thanks , its good to hear that just being normal and not making drastic changes works as well. I think a lot of us stress over a bunch of various things. I know my wife eat slike you do not really strict on what she eats but monitors her portions. I found out last week how importantit is to listen to my body. I had to make myself vomit becaus eteh pain was so bad I felt liek crap. Felt better after my throat was clear. Anyone else care to share.

    Walking Isnt Enough

I think your Dr was not being supportive of what you are doing. Now you are doing nothing because your feeling like your not good enough to succeed. Truth is from my own personal experience with weight loss pre sleeve exercise and weight training worked only when I was able to get my metabolism boosted. Once that happen for me my body was like a weight dropping machine. After exercise For the longest I would eat grilled chicken and Bush's fat free Beans through out the day for meals, and the occasional high calorie meal once a week. I dropped a pound everyday for quite some time. I only wish that I still had that old me back where I was athletic and felt super human at times. I lost 94 lbs, I was on top of the world. I just did a variety of exercises. I never did anything that was too strenuous I would walk 26 laps in the gym to equal a mile, I would play solo basketball, and lift up to 120 pounds on the bench mixed with dumbbells. I did this for 4 days a week for a total of 10 months, and I was very happy with the results, I just couldn't keep it off. My point to you is find a routine that suit syou as long as your staying active your doing a lot better than just sitting there waiting for something to happen. Not all doctors are created equal, (: just my opinion........

    New To Gastric Sleeve

    It takes all kinds,lol (:
  14. Keep us updated, and I know you will do well.
  15. I was 316 pounds at my heaviest down to 259 pounds, I can see the skin getting a little loose but nothing to major. I won't let it bother me living a healthier lifestyle is better than being overweight and dead because I wouldn't stop eating myself to death. Finding relationships are easy keeping it going is another. My suggestion is to look for someone that has already had the surgery so the know what your going through. My wife and me share this bond and its awesome. I could never love another woman as much now that we do. We know what each other goes through just to make it.
  16. Awesome post and advice made me smile, thanks for being so real with your post.

    New To Gastric Sleeve

Yes, you are not alone. I have been eating smaller meals and most of the time I'm full before I even get to enjoy the food. I take a few small bites 3 is my limit, and if I take 4 it seems to give me a bad case of acid reflux. A nasty thing to go through. Everyday is a constant struggle on what should I eat today, constantly watching the scale. Getting frustrated very easy over minor things when it comes to eating food. I'm happy that my food bill has went down by several hundred dollars. NO MORE FAST FOOD diets,or excuses. I'm not sure what or which emotion I should be having now that I have the sleeve. The positives out weigh any negative feelings I had. I used to think someone had to be really messed up mentally if they had to have surgery to loose weight. No w I realize that no matter what I know have control over the biggest problem I had,my appetite. No longer am I the guy that will eat your left overs or ask for an extra piece of this or that. I feel good about the surgery but I know if I was to continue on that old path I would have been eating myself into a hospital bed.

    Flatout wraps

Your dish looks yummy , nice presentation in my chef Ramsay voice, lol.

    Flatout wraps

I made home made tacos this weekend and couldn't even eat a whole taco. I had to break the tortilla up and very small amount of meat. It doesn't take much protein to fill me up quick.

    Time off from work

Yea I'm glad I had the time off I did but had to go back a lil early due to bills..... I was 4 weeks out so it wasn't that bad at work but you just never know.
  22. FRED1977

EPIC FAIL ON THE PRE-OP DIET!

We all are not perfect and I'm sure there are things that others need to work on more than others.
  23. FRED1977

    Really frustrated!

We all have stalls Jamie, it is very frustrating just search the forum and you will find several people that re going through the same thing. When we think about it our body's are stubborn and selfish they are used to this high calorie and fat diet and now it has to starve and give up the fat. It's a love hate type relationship. Just keep doing the right things like you posted and I'm sure you will see results. (:

Did you keep a "before" outfit?

I'm on the fence about this because I'm just not sure if this is really the last time I will ever be obese. I have lost and gained so much weight over the years and I just really want this to be the last time I have to go in that closet and pull out a pair of size 44 pants. After 6 weeks I can now wear size 40 so I'm getting smaller but everyday I still wonder will there ever be a day I wake up and have to go back in that closet and pull the 44 size out. At one point when I lost 94 lbs on my own I had to bag up all my big clothes and then I stored them away in my storage. Less than 5 years later I was back to wearing clothes from the bag. I pray every day that we can all remain healthy and never have any set backs.

    Time off from work

If you work in a hospital this is not a good idea not to tell anyone, and going back after 4 days is NOT SAFE because the pain of just walking will not be the same and your body does need time to rest.
