August 6th date for me too. 2nd day of preop diet. Feeling tired and cranky. Not hungry but desiring food. Everyone at work ordered a huge Italian feast and I really want some. How ur gets easier.

ShrinkyDinkMe101 got a reaction from Museum-Mama in Going to NOLA this weekend! Any suggestions?
Shrimp remoulade is low carb. You could have that, wait and enjoy iced tea afterward because it will be HOT this time of year . Red Beans & no rice. Fish. Po-boy innards (no bread). Have fun!

Gumbo & crawfish étouffée (both with no rice). I'm from Louisiana and started my pre-op diet today...can you tell!?

ShrinkyDinkMe101 reacted to Beachbum2017 in August 6'ers?
My surgery is August 6th also. My pre-op diet is a Protein Shake for Breakfast, a Protein shake for lunch and a sensible dinner. I can have one Protein Bar and 1 serving of fruit for Snacks. So far it hasn't been too bad. I have had a little bit of head hunger though....Last week I was already on my pre-op diet but the week before that I was on vacation so there were several food funerals that week! I had my most favorite thing in the world - I went to Cheesecake Factory and had Pasta Carbonara and a piece of White chocolate Macadamia Nut cheesecake...YUM!.. The thing that excites me the most is getting my life back - being able to do so many things that I just can't do anymore. The thing that scares me the most is how my body is going to react to all of this - I'm horrified that I will be that one person that throws up constantly - can't keep anything down AND doesn't lose any weight! I also am a little worried because I absolutely love Italian food and I don't see a good deal of that in my future.

ShrinkyDinkMe101 got a reaction from 1sassygal in Anyone else getting sleeved in August?
Endoscopy done...everything looks good! Start my two week liquid diet and have Psych eval tomorrow. Can't decide if I want to have something yummy (carby) for my last pre-surgery meal or just stick to low carb the way I've been doing since approval. I want to lose as much weight as possible before surgery, so I guess I know what my answer is...

ShrinkyDinkMe101 got a reaction from TES in Pre-op Liquid Diet: Sugar Free Torani Syrup O.K.? Spices?
Getting ready to start my two week pre-op liquid diet on Tuesday. Would it be ok to use sugar free Torani syrups to flavor the Protein Shakes? What about spices like cinnamon? Also, would Protein ice cream (just the shakes frozen in an ice cream maker) be acceptable?

My instruction sheet says I'm allowed broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello, crystal light and skim milk. Anyone? Diet starts tomorrow.

ShrinkyDinkMe101 reacted to TapSnap in 6 months befor and after PICTURES!
So tomorrow will be my 6 months since my surgery. My surgery date was Jan. 21st 2013 and I was 360lbs. As of today I am 230lbs.
I set a test for myself at my 6 month mark called the Savage Race. This is a 4 mile run and 25 obstacles course. I completed the race in 1 house and 40 minutes. I wanted to prove to myself that I could and I did. There is no way I would have been able to do this race 6 months ago. I'll be moving on to my next challenge and reclaiming my life back, Skydiving (need to drop 15 more pounds to do so).
So here are my before and after pictures. sorry that they are so big.

ShrinkyDinkMe101 reacted to BethinPA in Bridesmaid dress question
They probably didn't understand! But, in their defense, they probably meet women every day who swear they are going to drop a dress size, and don't. I also think you made the right decision. It will be fun proving them wrong when you go to pick the dress up!

ShrinkyDinkMe101 reacted to xsammy in Anyone else getting sleeved in August?
I just got my date today--August 7th!! I just have to do 2 weeks at 1200 calories, then the last 48 hrs will be liquid only--I can handle that. I'm down about 40 lbs over the 5 months leading up to this....ready to really start making progress, I want to drop another 140. Which sounds like a crazy high amount, but I know it's possible!
