Surgery June 13th and I'm down 37 since surgery, 52 from preop weight (90 lbs since my highest weight). No real issues. I find my weight loss fluctuates depending on hormones and Water consumption. Just started working out last week.

1st NSV! Just went through all the pants in my closet. Found about 10 pair that were "too big" and only 4 that were "too small". The greatest thing is that I have some from 2005 and 2009 that were snug back then and now are "just right!" I also bought a new pair of pants yesterday, size 16! When I started this journey, I was a size 22!
I'm so excited that I pulled all those pants from the "back of the closet" and can now wear them!

I do creamed Soups, sugar free puddings sf Jello, cottage cheese, apple sauce, smoothies and refried Beans. Just some ideas. The sleeve is still healing. And as far as exercise I don't mean go running you just need movement. Sitting in a chair you can do lots of exercise. I think your really down right now and it's okay. I know you must be feeling really discouraged but DON'T GIVE UP. Think about how many calories you are putting in with your current diet. Are you burning them? I know I'm still around 250 just to give you an idea. Breakfast I have a Protein Shake then I drink Water, crystal light, diet snapple etc lunch usually cottage cheese, then drink drink drink then dinner one of the creamed soups or refried beans/sour cream and cheese then more drinking. I have been using the water to float around and get my movement in. I can't do any actual exercise yet because I have back problems as well. The water doesn't hurt me to float around with my kiddos. I reallllly hope things start to improve for you and the weight starts coming off. Keep the faith. My weight the day of surgery was 280 lbs today 3ft weeks later I am 248 lbs it will happen keep pushing forward. Take care

Congratulations on your decision to change your life and that of your children . I haven't had surgery yet, but anticipate I will the end of August or first two weeks of September of this year. I'm 5'3" and 205 lbs.
Your post was helpful to me. I am always relieved to hear that the surgery pain is tolerable during the first week. I can't imagine cooking during those first weeks though. The only positive is that you manage the menus and can slowly change the family's menu to mirror what you will eventually be eating (high Protein, low carb/fat).
Maybe if you always stay focused on six months out, it will help during those rough times? Prayers headed your way from Fort Worth, TX!

Karen you mentioned steak and chewed foods? What is your daily intake of fluids? What are you eating and drinking cause I'm three weeks out and still stage 2b as far as eating I'm pureed no lumps and still 60g Protein 64oz fluids 60 min of movement and the pounds are coming off 32lbs since surgery date of 6\27 I wish I was eating chewed food lol but I'm not although I have licked a potato chip lol

If you are on puree you can start introducing more real food Proteins, I used a lot of canned meats(tuna, chicken, deviled ham) and cheeses in that phase just blend them if necessary to get the puree consistently. I have also read of people blending any type of meat. It's important to remember that your body needs Protein to heal so these problem will take longer to get better if you don't find some way to get enough protein in. Good Luck.

I had my surgery done June 27th. I will say the first week was very difficult not because of pain or anything else negative simply not being able to eat what I cooked for my family. I have lost 26lbs so far. I have experienced some dizzy spells but other than that it's been fine. No pain meds. Only thing I feel which I'm not sure is normal or not is I'm tender in the stomach area by touch. Very happy I had it done so I can continue to enjoy run and play with my kids!
